Overview

The Hikvision DS-D6050UH-DP is a 50-inch wall-mounted digital signage display with 3840 × 2160 resolution, 700 cd/m² brightness and an Android 13 player with 32 GB storage. It plays scheduled video, images, PDFs and webpages, and can be managed remotely across one or many screens. It suits reception areas, clinics and retail corridors in Doha and beyond. Panel performance at 3840 × 2160 on 50 inches

The DS-D6050UH-DP pairs a 50-inch screen with 3840 × 2160 resolution, so menus, timetables, wayfinding maps and promotional visuals stay sharp at close range. The active area measures 1095.84 mm by 616.411 mm with a 0.28539 mm pixel pitch. Rated brightness is 700 cd/m², and a 1200:1 contrast ratio, 178° viewing angles in both directions and an 8 ms response time keep content readable from the side of a lobby or corridor. The E-LED backlight, 10-bit colour depth (8-bit plus FRC), 85% NTSC colour gamut and 60 Hz refresh rate suit everyday signage, and the unit carries a 7 × 24 hour reliability rating.

A built-in player with scheduling and remote control

An Android 13 system runs on a four-core Cortex-A55 processor at 1.92 GHz, backed by 4 GB of memory and 32 GB of eMMC storage, so many sites will not need a separate media player. Playlists can combine video, pictures, audio, scrolling subtitles, PDF files, webpages, live video and number calling. Schedules run by day, by week, on a loop or as a custom plan. From central management, staff can control one screen or many, set timed switch-on and switch-off, adjust brightness and volume on a timetable, preview screenshots, and release programs remotely or from a USB drive.

Ports, wireless and audio

Video inputs: three HDMI and one DisplayPort
Network: one RJ45 port and dual-band Wi-Fi supporting 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax
Control: RS232 in and RS232 out, for linking the display to a building control system
Data: USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 ports, plus Bluetooth 5.0
Audio: two 6Ω 10 W speakers and a line output

Where it fits in Qatar

A private clinic in Msheireb can place the screen in its waiting area to show queue numbers, health awareness clips and department directions. A hotel lobby in Lusail can rotate event listings and local information through the day, with the schedule changing automatically at set times. In a school in Al Wakrah, a corridor unit can carry announcements and student work, switching on before morning assembly. Because brightness can be adjusted on a timer, facilities teams can lower output after closing hours.

Heat, power and the mounting plan

The working range is 0 to 40°C at 10% to 80% humidity, and storage is rated from -20°C to 60°C. Summer temperatures in Qatar regularly pass 45°C outdoors, so install the display in an air-conditioned room, away from direct sun and from windows that receive afternoon glare, and confirm the room stays within the rated range. Typical consumption is 90 W, with a 150 W maximum and standby at 0.5 W or less. The unit accepts 100 to 240 VAC at 50 or 60 Hz. The panel measures 1125.8 mm by 646.8 mm and is 41 mm deep, or 71 mm with the included backboard, and weighs 12.6 kg net. The packing list includes a power cord for Europe, so confirm the plug type for BS 1363 sockets before ordering.

Questions about DS-D6050UH-DP

What is the Hikvision DS-D6050UH-DP designed for?

It is a 50-inch, non-touch digital signage display for wall mounting, built to show scheduled content to visitors rather than to take touch input. It suits reception areas, clinics, retail corridors and offices whose information changes through the day. With 3840 × 2160 resolution and 700 cd/m² brightness, it lets people read content clearly from a reasonable distance in a lobby or walkway.

Do I need a separate PC or media player to run content?

In most cases, no. The display runs an Android 13 system with a four-core Cortex-A55 processor at 1.92 GHz, 4 GB memory and 32 GB eMMC storage, so it can play stored programs on its own. Content can also be loaded from a USB drive, and programs can be released remotely, which removes the need for an extra player box and its cabling.

Which video and file formats does it play?

Video decoding covers H.265, H.264/AVC, AV1, VP9, MPEG-4 and several older codecs. The material list includes AVI, MKV, MOV, FLV, ASF, DAT and VOB video files, MP3, WMA and OGG audio, and JPG, BMP and PNG images. Documents and webpages can also be included in playlists, so a single schedule can mix a promotional video, a PDF price list and a live feed.

Is the screen touch-enabled?

No. The DS-D6050UH-DP is a non-touch model, so it works as a one-way information display. If your project needs visitors to tap through menus or check in on the screen itself, this model is not the right choice, so state that in your request and the SmartRooms Qatar team can reflect it in the quotation.

Will it cope with a sunny lobby or a room with windows in Doha?

The rated working range is 0 to 40°C, while summer temperatures outdoors in Qatar can exceed 45°C. Install it in an air-conditioned room away from direct sun and afternoon glare through glass. The 700 cd/m² brightness helps against ambient light, but it does not replace a controlled environment. Confirm the room conditions with the SmartRooms Qatar team during a free site survey.

How do brightness and contrast help in busy public spaces?

The panel is rated at a 1200:1 contrast ratio, with 178° viewing angles horizontally and vertically and an 8 ms response time. These figures help visitors read the screen from an angle in a mall walkway or hospital corridor. Set the mounting height so the screen sits near eye level for the people who will read it most, and review the lighting in the space before installation.

Can I manage several screens and schedule switch-on times from one place?

Yes. Administrators can manage one screen or many from a central system, set timed switch-on and switch-off, and adjust brightness and volume on a timetable. Screenshot previews let staff check what is showing without visiting the site. For a clinic or school group with several locations, this reduces the number of site visits needed to update content.

What connectivity options are available for networks and control systems?

The unit has one RJ45 port and dual-band Wi-Fi supporting 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax, plus Bluetooth 5.0. It includes RS232 input and output for control from a building system, three HDMI inputs, one DisplayPort input, and USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 ports. Wired RJ45 suits a fixed screen with a stable connection, while Wi-Fi helps where cabling is difficult to run.

How much power does it use, and will it run on Qatar mains?

Typical consumption is 90 W, rising to 150 W at maximum, and standby is 0.5 W or less. The input rating is 100 to 240 VAC at 50 or 60 Hz, which covers Qatar's 240 V, 50 Hz supply. The packing list includes a power cord for Europe, so confirm the plug type for BS 1363 sockets with SmartRooms Qatar before installation.

Can it be wall-mounted in a corridor, and what wall work is needed?

Yes. It mounts horizontally or vertically using the included wall-mounted backboard and mounting bolts. The panel measures 1125.8 mm wide, 646.8 mm high and 41 mm deep, or 71 mm with the backboard, and weighs 12.6 kg net. Before fixing, check that the wall can carry the load, and plan cable routes and service boxes. A free site survey from SmartRooms Qatar can cover these points.

How does access control and security work on the platform?

The system provides five levels of organisation for managing materials, programs, terminals and users, with permission templates assigned by user level. Materials, programs and schedules pass through three levels of checks to prevent wrong releases. Stored and transmitted data is encrypted, and the unit has no default password, so users set their own initial password when they activate it.

Can an organisation buy several units through an LPO or a government tender?

Yes. SmartRooms Qatar accepts purchase orders (LPOs) and government tenders, including those published on Monaqasat, with payment by bank transfer or cheque. Quotations are usually issued within one working day. We deliver to all eight municipalities of Qatar and arrange professional installation. When you request a quote for several units, include the quantities and the locations.
