Overview

The LG 22XF1TJ is a 21.5-inch full HD touch display built for outdoor and semi-exposed locations. Its front is rated IP66, the touch glass is tempered with a shatterproof film behind it, and the operating range runs from 0°C to 50°C. It suits outdoor kiosks, wayfinding points and information screens across Qatar. Request a quote and we will confirm the mounting and enclosure plan.

A 21.5-inch touch display built for open-air sites

The LG 22XF1TJ is an open-frame touch display with a 21.5-inch IPS panel at 1920 x 1080 (Full HD) and a 16:9 aspect ratio. It can be used in landscape or portrait orientation, which suits vertical wayfinding panels as well as standard kiosk layouts. The body measures 557.3 x 322.8 x 60 mm and the head weighs 7.0 kg, which keeps it manageable for a compact pole or kiosk frame.

Protection and brightness for outdoor conditions

The front of the unit is rated IP66, which the manufacturer specifies for the front only, so the rear and sides should sit in an enclosure suited to the site. The touch glass is 3 mm tempered, and a shatterproof film on its back helps hold fragments together if the glass takes a hard knock. A conformal coating protects the power board against humidity, while the built-in fan and temperature sensor help manage heat inside the unit. The rated operating range is 0°C to 50°C, with humidity of 10% to 80%.

Brightness needs a precise statement. The product name cites 1,300 nits, while the detailed panel specification lists 1,500 nits typical with the protective glass fitted. The automatic brightness sensor raises output in strong light and lowers it in darkness, and the manufacturer says the screen stays clear to people wearing polarised sunglasses. Confirm the figure you need when requesting a quote.

Where it fits in Qatar

Car park and drop-off wayfinding: a mall in Lusail or a hospital entrance in Doha can place the display under a canopy to show directions and opening information.
Campus maps: a university or training centre in Education City could use a touch map on an outdoor plaza, with content updated centrally.
Sales and project points: a real estate sales point at The Pearl or in Lusail can show project plans to visitors waiting outside the showroom.

Ports, control and content tools

The unit has one HDMI input with HDCP 1.4, one USB 2.0 Type A port, a touch USB connection, one RJ45 LAN input, and RS-232C in and out. It has no built-in speaker, so audio runs through the external speaker output. There is no OPS slot and no built-in Wi-Fi. Internal storage is 16GB eMMC and the unit runs webOS 4.1, with local content scheduling and remote management through Control Manager, SNMP and Wake on LAN. The manufacturer also lists SuperSign CMS, SuperSign Control+ and Promota for content management. LG ConnectedCare is an optional cloud service for remote status checks and fault diagnosis.

Planning the mount, power and site survey

Mounting uses a 100 x 100 mm VESA pattern, and the basic package does not include a mount.
Power draw is 85W typical on full white and 115W maximum, with 0.5W in standby.
Packed weight is 8 kg, so plan for a sturdy wall, pole or kiosk structure.
Plan HDMI, LAN and USB cable routing before the unit is fixed.

A free site survey from SmartRooms Qatar lets our team check the wall or pole, sun exposure and shade before anything is fixed. We supply the unit, deliver it to all eight municipalities of Qatar and arrange professional installation. Request a quote and we will confirm the mounting option, the enclosure and the estimated lead time, which depends on stock at the time of order.

Questions about 22XF1TJ

What is the LG 22XF1TJ designed for?

The LG 22XF1TJ is a 21.5-inch Full HD touch display for outdoor and semi-exposed locations, such as a kiosk under a canopy at a shopping centre car park in Lusail or a wayfinding point at a hospital entrance in Doha. Its front is rated IP66, it uses P-cap touch, and it can be mounted in landscape or portrait orientation.

Can the 22XF1TJ cope with Qatar's summer heat outdoors?

The rated operating temperature is 0°C to 50°C, with humidity of 10% to 80%. Summer temperatures in Qatar can exceed 45°C, and a panel in direct sunlight can heat up faster than the surrounding air. Plan shade or a ventilated enclosure for outdoor sites, and confirm the installation environment with the SmartRooms Qatar team during the site survey. The built-in fan and temperature sensor help manage heat inside the unit.

What does the IP66 rating cover?

According to the manufacturer's specification, the IP66 rating applies to the front of the display only, which protects the screen face against dust and water jets. The sides and rear are not covered by that rating, so they should be housed in a suitable enclosure on an outdoor site. Ask the SmartRooms Qatar team to match the enclosure to the wind and dust exposure at your location before ordering.

How bright is the screen for daylight viewing?

The product name cites 1,300 nits, while the detailed panel specification lists 1,500 nits typical with the protective glass fitted. In either case, the automatic brightness sensor raises output in strong light and reduces it in darkness to save power. The manufacturer states the screen stays clear to people wearing polarised sunglasses, so specify the brightness you need for a sun-facing entrance when you request a quote.

Does the display have built-in speakers?

No. The 22XF1TJ has no built-in speaker, but it provides an external speaker output for connecting separate speakers for announcements or audio. The specification lists no separate audio input or audio output, so sound only leaves the unit through that external speaker output. Plan the speakers and their cable route before mounting, especially on outdoor sites where cables need protection.

Which ports and inputs does it have?

The unit has one HDMI input with HDCP 1.4, one USB 2.0 Type A port, a touch USB connection, one RJ45 LAN input, and RS-232C in and out. It has no HDMI output, no DisplayPort, no DVI-D and no RGB input, so it cannot pass a signal on to another screen. Check that your media player or PC outputs HDMI before ordering.

Can I use it with an OPS computer or an external media player?

The 22XF1TJ has no OPS slot and is not OPS-compatible, so it cannot host a pluggable OPS computer. It can receive content from an external media player or PC through its HDMI input. It also has 16GB of internal eMMC storage, runs webOS 4.1, and supports local content scheduling and Play via URL. For a fully self-contained kiosk, discuss the setup with SmartRooms Qatar when requesting a quote.

How can facilities staff monitor it remotely?

Control Manager is a web-based tool that lets staff check, adjust and control the display over a network from a PC or mobile phone, with access to current and past data. The unit also supports SNMP, Wake on LAN and HDMI-CEC. The optional LG ConnectedCare cloud service adds remote status checks and fault diagnosis, and it is not part of the basic package, so include it in your request if you need it.

How much power does it draw?

Typical consumption is 85W on full white and 115W maximum, with 0.5W in standby. The IEC 62087 typical figure is 37W, which better reflects mixed content. Heat output is listed as 290 BTU/Hr typical and 393 BTU/Hr maximum. The power supply is built in and accepts 100-240V AC at 50/60Hz, which covers Qatar's 240V mains. Your installer should still check the circuit and socket before commissioning.

What mounting is needed?

The head uses a 100 x 100 mm VESA mounting pattern. The monitor measures 557.3 x 322.8 x 60 mm and weighs 7.0 kg, or 8 kg packed. The specification lists no stand, and the basic package does not include a mount, so you will need a wall, pole or kiosk bracket. A free site survey from SmartRooms Qatar checks the strength of the wall or pole and the sun exposure before fixing.

Which model variant should I order?

The range is listed with the suffixes -B.AMA, -B.AMI and -B.AMN under the 22XF1TJ-B name. The manufacturer data we hold does not explain the differences between these suffixes, so this page does not describe them. When you request a quote, give the exact suffix and any accessories you need so the quotation matches your site requirements.

Can a ministry, council or school buy it through an LPO or government tender?

Yes. For a ministry, municipality or school ordering several units for outdoor signage, SmartRooms Qatar accepts purchase orders (LPOs), government tenders including Monaqasat, and payment by bank transfer, cheque or purchase order. Quotations usually arrive within one working day. Products are covered by the manufacturer's warranty, but the warranty terms are not in our source data, so request them in writing before you commit.
