Name: LG 49UH7F 49-inch UHD High-Brightness Digital Signage Display
Brand: LG
SKU: lg-49uh7f
Availability: Discontinued

Overview

The LG 49UH7F is a 49-inch 4K UHD signage display with an IPS panel and 700 nit typical brightness, built for indoor lobbies, corridors and information points. It offers three HDMI inputs, DisplayPort in and out, built-in Wi-Fi and webOS 4.1 with multi-screen modes, plus an optional OPS-compatible slot. LG has discontinued this model, so SmartRooms Qatar can quote a current equivalent or compatible replacement for your site.

What the LG 49UH7F is built for

The LG 49UH7F is a 49-inch UHD digital signage display from the UH7F Series, built to play content for long hours in public-facing areas. Its IPS panel has a 3840 x 2160 native resolution and a 16:9 aspect ratio, and it can be used in landscape or portrait orientation. LG has discontinued this model, so this page serves organisations that already run it, buyers comparing it with newer screens, and anyone who needs a replacement.

Brightness, uptime and operating environment

Signage buyers usually check brightness and uptime first. The source data gives 700 nit typical brightness, a 1,100:1 contrast ratio, 8 ms grey-to-grey response and a 60 Hz refresh rate. The panel is rated for 24/7 operation with a minimum lifetime of 50,000 hours, and it shows 1.07 billion colours with BT709 95% gamut coverage.

The operating temperature is 0 °C to 40 °C and the operating humidity is 10% to 80%. The IP5X rating is a dust-protection rating. Together these figures point to an air-conditioned indoor installation. Qatar summers often exceed 45 °C, so keep the screen away from unconditioned atriums, sunlit bays and outdoor kiosks, and confirm the exact spot with the SmartRooms Qatar team before mounting.

Connectivity, software and sound

The rear panel offers three HDMI inputs, DisplayPort in and out, a DVI-D input, one RJ45 LAN input, RS232C in and out, an IR input, audio in and audio out, and a single USB 2.0 Type A port. The display is not a touch model and has no HDMI output. Daisy chaining is not supported, so each screen needs its own source feed.

Network features include built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, webOS 4.1, 8GB internal eMMC storage, Wake on LAN and SNMP. Layout options include four-screen picture-by-picture, picture-in-picture and Tile Mode settings for video walls. Management tools listed for this model are SuperSign CMS, SuperSign Control+, SuperSign WB, Connected Care, Mobile CMS and Promota. SuperSign Cloud is not listed.

Where it fits in Qatar

Three placements suit this size and specification:

Clinic and hospital waiting areas in Doha, showing queue numbers, wayfinding and health messages in a climate-controlled lobby.
Bank branches and government service centres, where a 49-inch screen informs visitors without taking over the counter area.
Hotel lobbies and serviced apartment receptions in West Bay or The Pearl, running welcome content and local event listings.

What to plan before ordering

Measure the wall or stand first. The head unit measures 1098.6 x 644.5 x 39.9 mm and weighs 15.4 kg. With the optional ST-653T stand it measures 1098.6 x 694.3 x 290.0 mm and weighs 16.0 kg. The VESA mount interface is 300 x 300 mm, and the packed unit weighs 18.8 kg, so plan lifting equipment and a secure bracket. Bezels are 9.9 mm on the sides and top and 14.4 mm at the bottom, which matters if you tile several panels.

Power is an internal supply rated AC 100-240 V, 50/60 Hz, which covers Qatar's 240 V mains. Typical consumption is 100 W and maximum is 145 W. The OPS kit KT-OPSF is optional, and the slot is piggyback type with no built-in OPS power, so budget separately for a compatible OPS computer if you need one.

Because LG has discontinued the 49UH7F, request a quote for a current equivalent or compatible replacement rather than this exact model. SmartRooms Qatar supplies all eight municipalities, offers professional installation and a free site survey, and usually returns quotations within one working day. Purchase orders and LPOs are accepted. Send us your screen count and locations to get your quotation started.

Questions about 49UH7F

Is the LG 49UH7F still sold by LG?

No. LG has discontinued this model, so SmartRooms Qatar will quote a current equivalent or a compatible replacement instead. Tell us how many screens you need, where they will be mounted and which content management system you use. We will recommend a size close to 49 inches that fits your existing brackets and cabling.

Which Doha locations suit a 49-inch UHD signage display?

It suits indoor public spaces where people pause for a few minutes, such as clinic waiting rooms, bank branch halls, government service centres and hotel lobbies. Its 700 nit typical brightness and 24/7 rating support continuous playback, and the 16:9 panel can run in landscape or portrait. For a reception in West Bay or The Pearl, ask for a site survey to check viewing distance.

Can I install it in a sunlit lobby facing windows in West Bay?

Check the site first. The operating range is 0 °C to 40 °C with 10% to 80% humidity, and Qatar summer temperatures often exceed 45 °C. Keep the screen in an air-conditioned room away from direct sun. The IP5X rating covers dust protection only, so this is not an outdoor product. SmartRooms Qatar offers a free site survey to check glare and heat before installation.

Can one screen show queue numbers and a news ticker in a Msheireb clinic?

Yes, using picture-by-picture mode. The display supports PBP with four split pictures, plus PIP for a smaller overlay window. Assign one zone to queue numbers and another to health messages, and select sources through the three HDMI inputs or DisplayPort. Confirm the layout with your content management system before the installation day.

Which inputs and outputs does the 49UH7F provide?

It has three HDMI inputs supporting HDCP 2.2 and 1.4, DisplayPort in and out, a DVI-D input with HDCP 1.4, one RJ45 LAN input, RS232C in and out, an IR input, audio in and audio out, and one USB 2.0 Type A port. It has no HDMI output, no RGB input and no touch function. Daisy chaining is not supported, so plan a separate feed for each screen.

Can it be managed over the network with SuperSign software?

Yes. The source lists SuperSign CMS, SuperSign Control+, SuperSign WB, Connected Care, Mobile CMS and Promota, along with network features such as Wake on LAN, SNMP, Screen Share and Crestron Connected. SuperSign Cloud is not listed for this model, so confirm your management platform before ordering. Your IT team should also check the network port and IP addressing plan before installation.

Can a university in Education City use these for campus notices?

Yes, for corridor and reception notices. The display has built-in Wi-Fi, a LAN input, local contents scheduling and 8GB of internal eMMC storage, so schedules can be managed on the unit itself. Choose landscape or portrait mounting to suit the notice format. For several units across a campus building, request a quotation that lists each location and cable route.

Does it have built-in Wi-Fi and enough storage for offline playback?

It includes built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, plus 8GB of internal eMMC storage. Local contents scheduling and gapless playback are listed, which helps with looping media. Storage is limited, so keep video files compact and confirm your playback plan with SmartRooms Qatar before ordering.

Can I add an OPS media player inside the display?

The display has an OPS slot that works with piggyback OPS modules, and the OPS kit KT-OPSF is an optional accessory. The slot does not provide built-in OPS power, so plan power for the OPS module separately. Check the kit details against your media player before ordering, and do not assume the kit is included with the base unit.

What power supply and consumption should facilities teams plan for?

The built-in supply accepts AC 100-240 V at 50/60 Hz, which includes Qatar's 240 V mains. Typical consumption is 100 W and maximum is 145 W, while Smart Energy Saving mode draws 75 W. Confirm that the supplied power cord fits your BS 1363 Type G socket, or arrange a suitable plug before installation day.

How much wall space does a 49UH7F need?

The head unit measures 1098.6 x 644.5 x 39.9 mm and weighs 15.4 kg. With the ST-653T stand it measures 1098.6 x 694.3 x 290.0 mm and weighs 16.0 kg. The VESA pattern is 300 x 300 mm. Walls, brackets and cable routes need checking, so SmartRooms Qatar offers a free site survey before wall mounting.

What should a school in Al Wakrah prepare when ordering several units?

Prepare a list of rooms, wall types and mounting heights, then send the quantity to SmartRooms Qatar for a quotation. Purchase orders and LPOs are accepted, and deliveries cover all eight municipalities. Because this model is discontinued, the quotation will be for a current equivalent. Note that bezels are 9.9 mm on the sides and top and 14.4 mm at the bottom, which affects tiled layouts.
