Overview

The LG 49UH7N-E is a 49-inch UHD (3840 x 2160) signage display with an IPS panel, 700 nit typical brightness and built-in webOS 6.0, designed for near-continuous 24/7 use. LG has discontinued this model. SmartRooms Qatar can quote a current equivalent or a compatible replacement for lobbies, retail floors and corridors across Qatar. Request a quote for your site.

What the 49UH7N-E offers as a signage display

The LG 49UH7N-E is a 49-inch UHD signage display from the UH7N series, built for organisations that show information on a screen for most of the day. It pairs an IPS panel with a 3840 x 2160 native resolution, a 16:9 aspect ratio and a 60Hz refresh rate, and the manufacturer rates it for 24/7 operation in landscape or portrait orientation.

LG has discontinued this model. If you are adding screens to an existing network or replacing a unit, SmartRooms Qatar can quote a current equivalent or a compatible replacement that suits your mounting space, content platform and power setup.

Picture quality and visibility in bright spaces

The panel shows 10-bit colour, which the manufacturer rates at 1.07 billion colours, and covers 95% of the BT709 gamut. Typical brightness is 700 nit, and the anti-glare coating, with a haze value of 0.28, reduces reflections from windows and overhead lights. Native contrast is 1,100:1 and dynamic contrast is listed at 1,000,000:1. The viewing angle is 178 degrees both horizontally and vertically, and response time is 8ms grey to grey. The 50,000-hour minimum life suits continuous use.

Connectivity, content and control

The display offers two HDMI inputs and one DisplayPort input, each supporting 3840 x 2160 at 60Hz, plus a DisplayPort output for daisy-chaining, a USB 2.0 Type A port, a USB 2.0 Type C port without power delivery, LAN, RS232C in and out, IR input and an audio output. Its webOS 6.0 platform, with 16GB of internal memory, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, runs scheduled content without a separate media player. Compatible software includes SuperSign CMS, SuperSign Control+, SuperSign Cloud and Mobile CMS. Tile mode can be set up to 15x15 for a multi-panel video wall.

Durability, power and installation planning

The IP5X rating and the conformal-coated power board protect against salt, dust, iron powder and humidity. The operating range is 0 to 40 degrees Celsius and 10 to 80 percent humidity, so the screen belongs in an air-conditioned indoor space. The built-in power supply accepts 100 to 240 V at 50/60 Hz, which covers Qatar's 240 V, 50 Hz mains. Typical draw is 90W, maximum 130W, and 0.5W when powered off. Plan the installation around these specifics:

Bezels measure 8.9 mm on the sides and top and 12.9 mm at the bottom
The head weighs 13.6 kg, or 16.1 kg packed, so plan a rigid wall or suitable bracket
VESA 300 x 300 mounting pattern
About 13 mm wall gap with the slim bracket and hidden power inlets
Optional slim wall mount WB21LMA/B, wall mount OLW480A/B and adapter AM-B330S

Where it fits in Qatar

Hotel reception and lift lobbies in West Bay or The Pearl, showing directions and event listings
Clinic and hospital waiting areas in Al Sadd or Msheireb, displaying queue numbers and health information
University and school corridors in Education City or Al Rayyan, running timetables and announcements

Book a site survey before ordering. SmartRooms Qatar offers free site surveys to confirm wall construction, cable routes, socket positions and spacing for several screens. For a government body or school ordering more than one unit, quotations can be issued for a purchase order (LPO), and we support government tenders including Monaqasat. Send us your locations, screen count and content plan, and request a quote for a current replacement that fits your site.

Questions about 49UH7N-E

Is the LG 49UH7N-E still sold new by LG?

No. LG has discontinued the 49UH7N-E, so it is no longer in the manufacturer's current range. SmartRooms Qatar can quote a suitable current replacement or a compatible equivalent that fits your mounting space, content platform and power setup. Send us the existing model and your site details, and we will reply with a quotation, usually within one working day.

What is the 49UH7N-E designed to do?

It is a 49-inch UHD signage display for showing information, menus, directions or advertising on a screen that runs continuously. The manufacturer lists 24/7 operation, landscape and portrait orientation, and a 700 nit typical brightness. It suits lobbies, reception areas, corridors and retail floors where a single wall-mounted screen needs to stay clear and dependable all day.

Does the built-in power supply work with Qatar's 240 V mains?

Yes. The built-in power supply is rated AC 100 to 240 V at 50/60 Hz, which covers Qatar's 240 V, 50 Hz supply. Typical consumption is 90W and the maximum is 130W, dropping to 0.5W in power-off mode. Ask your electrical contractor to confirm the outlet position and socket arrangement for your site before installation.

Can it play content without an external media player?

It can. The built-in webOS 6.0 platform, with 16GB of internal eMMC storage, handles multiple tasks without a separate media player. Local content scheduling, group management, fail-over and screen rotation are listed in the specification. The unit is compatible with SuperSign CMS, SuperSign Control+, SuperSign Cloud and Mobile CMS for managing playlists across several screens.

What inputs and outputs does the 49UH7N-E provide?

The unit provides two HDMI inputs and one DisplayPort input, each supporting 3840 x 2160 at 60Hz, plus a DisplayPort output, a USB 2.0 Type A port, a USB 2.0 Type C port without power delivery, LAN, RS232C input and output, an IR input and an audio output. Check which source devices you will connect, such as media players or laptops, before ordering cables.

Can several 49UH7N-E screens be daisy-chained into a video wall?

The display supports daisy-chaining, accepting input from HDMI, DisplayPort or USB-C and passing it on through its DisplayPort output. Tile mode settings go up to 15x15 for multi-panel layouts. For a wall in a Doha hotel lobby or a Lusail mall atrium, the bezel alignment and mounting positions should be surveyed on site before the order is placed.

Can it be placed in a sunny, unshaded area during Qatar's summer?

Not without reviewing conditions first. The operating range is 0 to 40 degrees Celsius and 10 to 80 percent humidity, while Qatar summer temperatures often exceed 45 degrees. Install it in an air-conditioned indoor space, away from direct sunlight on glass. If your entrance is semi-open or faces a sun-exposed window, ask the SmartRooms Qatar team to review the location before we quote.

How well does the screen handle bright lobbies and window light?

The screen has an anti-glare coating with a haze value of 0.28 and a typical brightness of 700 nit, which helps reduce reflections and keep content readable in brighter rooms. The viewing angle is 178 degrees horizontally and vertically. For a glass-fronted lobby or a reception facing windows in Doha, test the position at the busiest time of day before fixing it in place.

How much wall space and mounting support does it need?

Side and top bezels measure 8.9 mm and the bottom bezel 12.9 mm. The depth is 29.7 mm without the IR unit, and with the slim bracket the display sits about 13 mm from the wall. The head weighs 13.6 kg and follows a 300 x 300 VESA pattern. Optional mounts include the slim WB21LMA/B and the OLW480A/B. A site survey helps confirm the wall can carry the load.

Does the on-screen menu support Arabic?

Yes. The on-screen display language list includes Arabic alongside English and many other languages. This suits Qatari offices and schools where staff work in Arabic and English side by side. Confirm the language you need at the time of ordering so the installer can set the menu language and default content before handover.

What security features does this model include?

The 49UH7N-E includes LG's Enhanced Kernel Protection technology, which the manufacturer describes as guarding data against external access and attacks. The manufacturer also states that this model is ISO/IEC 15408 Common Criteria EAL2 certified. For an IT team in a government or healthcare setting, share your network policy so we can review connection settings, including LAN, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, before installation.

How do we order several units for a school or government department?

Send the model, quantity and locations, and SmartRooms Qatar will prepare a quotation, usually within one working day. We accept purchase orders (LPOs), and payment can be made by bank transfer, cheque or purchase order. We also support government tenders, including Monaqasat. Because this model is discontinued, the quotation will cover a current equivalent or compatible replacement, so please confirm the number of units needed for each site.
