Overview

The LG 55XE4F is a 55-inch full HD display built for outdoor and semi-exposed sites. It delivers 4,000 nits typical brightness, carries an IP56 sealed housing and IK10-rated tempered glass, and operates from -30 °C to 50 °C. Web-based monitoring lets facilities teams adjust it remotely. It suits menu boards and entrance signage in Doha, Lusail and industrial areas. Request a quote for your site.

A 55-inch display built for sun, dust and heat

The LG 55XE4F is a 55-inch outdoor display with a 16:9 full HD (1920 x 1080) IPS panel. It suits locations where daylight and weather would make an indoor screen hard to read, such as covered forecourts, entrance canopies, transport hubs and industrial yards. The panel is rated at 4,000 nits typical and 3,200 nits minimum, so content stays readable in strong daylight. It is designed for 24/7 operation and has a typical rated life of 50,000 hours.

Protection, brightness and viewing angle

Sealed housing: IP56 rating against dust, rain and wind.
Impact-rated glass: 5 mm tempered, laminated front glass rated IK10.
Wide viewing angle: 178 degrees horizontal and vertical on IPS technology.
Polarized eyewear: A quarter-wave plate keeps the image visible through polarized sunglasses.

Where the 55XE4F fits in Qatar

In Lusail, a mall or retail frontage may need a bright promotional screen that stays legible through the afternoon. At Mesaieed or Ras Laffan, an industrial site could use a covered yard display for shift notices and wayfinding, where dust is a daily condition. Hotels in West Bay could place one at a covered entrance. At every site, compare conditions with the -30 °C to 50 °C operating range, since Qatar summers exceed 45 °C.

Control, connections and monitoring

The 55XE4F has two HDMI inputs and a DisplayPort input with HDCP 2.2. One RJ45 port is HDBaseT, which carries video, Ethernet, control and USB over a single long cable. RS232C input and output allow serial control, and two USB 2.0 Type A inputs support media playback. Software compatibility covers SuperSign CMS, SuperSign Control+ and Connected Care. The menu offers 20 languages, including Arabic. There is no built-in speaker and no Wi-Fi, so audio requires an external speaker connected to the external speaker output.

What to plan before installation

The head weighs 40 kg and weighs 46 kg packed, measuring 1292.5 x 737.4 x 88.0 mm, with bezels of 38.4 mm at top and bottom and 26 mm at each side. Have the wall or frame surveyed before fixing, and arrange a lifting crew. Tilt is limited to 15 degrees face down. Power draw is 330 W typical on full white, 400 W maximum and 178 W under IEC 62087, so allow for heat in any enclosure and check the outdoor circuit. The power supply is built in and accepts AC 100-240 V at 50/60 Hz. The box includes a remote controller, HDMI cable, power cable, RS232C adapter, battery and screws. Listed certifications include FCC Class A, CE, KC, VCCI and CB/NRTL safety. Products are covered by the manufacturer's warranty.

SmartRooms Qatar supplies the 55XE4F across all eight municipalities, offers free site surveys before mounting and professional installation, and usually issues quotations within one working day. Purchase orders (LPOs) and Monaqasat tenders are accepted. Request a quote for this model and tell us the location, mounting surface and content plan, and we will confirm the right setup.

Questions about 55XE4F

What is the LG 55XE4F designed for?

It is a 55-inch display for outdoor and semi-exposed locations where standard indoor screens lose clarity. With 4,000 nits typical brightness and an IP56 housing, it suits entrance signage, menu boards, covered forecourts, fuel stations and industrial yards across Qatar. Its 16:9 full HD panel shows wayfinding and promotional content clearly to people walking or driving past.

Can the 55XE4F handle Qatar's summer heat?

The rated operating temperature is -30 °C to 50 °C, with humidity from 5 to 100 percent. Summer temperatures in Qatar regularly exceed 45 °C, so the 50 °C upper limit leaves limited margin. Direct sun exposure and enclosure heat both matter, so confirm the exact mounting position and ventilation during a site survey before ordering.

How bright is the screen compared with an indoor display?

The panel is rated at 4,000 nits typical and 3,200 nits minimum, with a contrast ratio of 1,000:1 and dynamic contrast of 500,000:1. These figures are aimed at daylight viewing. Standard indoor displays are usually far dimmer, so they would wash out in a sunlit lobby, courtyard or forecourt, which is where this model is intended to be used.

Can people wearing polarized sunglasses read the screen?

Yes. The panel includes a quarter-wave plate (QWP), which the manufacturer states keeps the image visible when viewers wear polarized sunglasses. This matters at fuel stations, car park entrances and outdoor staff areas, where people often wear sunglasses in bright conditions and need to read directions or safety notices quickly.

How is the display protected against dust, rain and impact?

The housing carries an IP56 rating, sealed against dust and powerful water jets. The front uses 5 mm tempered, laminated glass rated IK10 for impact resistance. Qatar's dust storms are still a planning factor, so choose a mounting point that limits airborne dust build-up and confirm the ventilation arrangement during the site survey.

Does the 55XE4F have a built-in speaker or Wi-Fi?

No. The model has no built-in speaker and no built-in Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. It connects to the network by wired RJ45 ports, and it has an external speaker output for sound. If your entrance or yard needs audio, plan an external speaker system alongside the display when you request a quote.

Which video and data inputs are available for a media player?

There are two HDMI inputs, one DisplayPort input with HDCP 2.2, two RJ45 LAN ports (one of them HDBaseT), two USB 2.0 Type A inputs, and RS232C input and output. HDBaseT carries video, Ethernet, control and USB over a single long-distance cable, which simplifies cabling between a playback box and a sign mounted some distance away.

Can the display be monitored and controlled remotely?

Yes. The web-based monitoring tool lets IT staff check the unit, make adjustments and control it in real time from a mobile phone or computer, with access to current and past data. Software compatibility lists Connected Care, SuperSign CMS and SuperSign Control+, which helps facilities teams manage several screens across different Qatar sites.

What weight and size should the wall or frame support?

The head weighs 40 kg, with a packed weight of 46 kg, and measures 1292.5 x 737.4 x 88.0 mm. The structure must carry that load safely and allow tilt of up to 15 degrees face down. A survey before installation confirms fixing points and access, and a lifting crew should be planned, since a single person cannot safely handle this panel alone.

How much power does the display use and does it need a dedicated circuit?

Typical draw is 330 W on full white, 400 W maximum, and 178 W under IEC 62087, with 0.5 W in power-off mode. The power supply is built in and accepts AC 100-240 V at 50/60 Hz. For industrial sites such as Mesaieed or Ras Laffan, check the circuit capacity and heat load in any enclosure before connecting the unit.

Does the on-screen menu support Arabic?

Yes. The on-screen display offers 20 languages, including Arabic and English, so a bilingual office or school can set up the screen in the language its staff use. This is useful for a government office in Doha or a campus at Education City where Arabic and English content sit side by side on the same signage.

How do we order several units for a school or government entity?

SmartRooms Qatar supplies the 55XE4F with delivery to all eight municipalities, free site surveys and usually a quotation within one working day. Purchase orders (LPOs) and Monaqasat government tenders are accepted, and payment can be made by bank transfer, cheque or purchase order. Products are covered by the manufacturer's warranty.
