The Samsung OH46B is a 46-inch Full HD outdoor digital signage display with 3,500 nits typical brightness, a 6,000:1 contrast ratio and IP56 dust and water protection. Its anti-reflection Magic Protection Glass reduces glare in daylight, and its rated operating range of -30°C to 50°C supports round-the-clock use. It suits building entrances, forecourts and drive-through lanes across Qatar where indoor screens would wash out.
Brightness and glass designed for daylight viewing
The OH46B pairs a 46-inch VA panel with 1,920 x 1,080 Full HD resolution and a 0.53 mm pixel pitch. Typical brightness is 3,500 nits with a 4,000 nits peak, and a built-in auto brightness sensor adjusts output to the surrounding light. The Magic Protection Glass uses anti-reflection coatings and carries a 0% haze rating, which helps text stay clear when sunlight falls on the screen.
A 6,000:1 contrast ratio, 178/178 degree viewing angles and a 6 ms response time keep moving content and side-on viewers well served. Colour coverage is rated at NTSC 72%.
Sealed enclosure and cooling for outdoor sites
The enclosure is IP56 rated against dust and water, and the glass is IK10 rated for impact resistance. Four hidden fans on the underside work against condensation, which can form when humid air meets a cooler screen. The rated operating temperature runs from -30°C to 50°C, with humidity from 10 to 80 per cent, non-condensing. Qatar summers can make a sun-facing panel run hotter than the surrounding air, so check shade and orientation during a site survey before fixing the screen.
Connectivity, software and power details
Connections include two HDMI version 2 inputs with HDCP 2.2, one USB port, an HDBaseT input, RS232 and RJ45 ports for control and network links, and a stereo mini-jack audio output. The display runs Tizen 5.0 with 8 GB of flash memory and an embedded MagicINFO Player S7 for scheduled playback; a MagicINFO license is purchased separately. It draws 430 W in on mode and 0.5 W in sleep mode, on AC 100-240 V at 50/60 Hz, a range that covers Qatar's 240 V, 50 Hz supply. The energy efficiency class is D.
Where the OH46B fits in Qatar
- Building entrances and forecourts: a mall or office frontage in West Bay or Lusail carrying wayfinding and event messages that must be read in bright sun.
- Drive-through and car park lanes: a bank branch in Al Sadd or a service station in Al Rayyan showing directional and service information to drivers.
- Covered walkways and hotel arrivals: a hotel porte cochere in The Pearl or a campus walkway in Education City, where the screen sits in shade but still faces daylight.
Planning a 46-inch outdoor installation
The panel measures 1,069 x 623.6 x 85 mm and weighs 36 kg, so the wall or post must be checked for load before fixing. Mounts are sold separately, and the rated VESA pattern is 995 x 500 mm, so confirm your bracket matches before ordering. SmartRooms Qatar offers free site surveys covering wall structure, cable routes, orientation and sun exposure, followed by professional installation across all eight municipalities of Qatar. Quotations are usually issued within one working day, and organisations buying through a purchase order or a government tender can request one on that basis. Request a quote for the OH46B and we will confirm the mount, cabling and installation scope for your site.
