Overview

The Sony FW-65BZ40P is a 65-inch 4K HDR professional display from the Pro BRAVIA BZ40P Series, offering 700 nit brightness and IP5X dust resistance for demanding commercial spaces. Its Deep Black Non-Glare Premium screen coating keeps reflections down in bright rooms, and built-in Android with Pro Mode suits digital signage without a set-top box. Ideal for Doha retail, corporate lobbies and classrooms. Request a quote today.

A 65-inch 4K display built for public and business spaces

The Sony FW-65BZ40P belongs to the Pro BRAVIA BZ40P Series and pairs a 65-inch IPS panel at 3840 x 2160 resolution with 700 nit brightness. It is aimed at retail floors, corporate reception areas, meeting rooms and classrooms where a screen runs for long hours and must stay readable under ceiling lights or near windows.

Its IP5X dust-resistant chassis is designed for environments where dust is a concern, and the display is specified for 24/7 operation. Both points matter in Qatar, where dust settles quickly on equipment in lobbies and back-of-house areas.

Picture quality in bright rooms

The screen uses Sony's Deep Black Non-Glare Premium treatment, which combines a haze and low-reflection coating with contrast processing from the XR Processor. The panel is rated at 1,200:1 contrast, covers 92% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut and supports HDR10 and HLG content. Lower resolution sources are upscaled toward near-4K quality. Viewing angle is rated at 178 degrees horizontally and vertically, so people seated at the sides of a room still see a clear picture.

Connectivity and signage without a set-top box

Four HDMI inputs on the side, with HDCP 2.3 on HDMI 1 to 4
Two USB ports for media playback across a wide range of video and image codecs
One Ethernet port, plus integrated wireless LAN and Apple AirPlay mirroring
RS-232C, IP control and HDMI-CEC for integration with room and building control systems

The built-in Android platform runs digital signage apps without an external set-top box, with 32GB of onboard storage. A real-time clock keeps content management schedules intact even when the display is switched off. HDMI auto wake-up powers the screen when a laptop connects, which saves time in meetings. Pro Mode lets administrators restrict physical buttons, the remote and selected inputs to discourage tampering in public spaces.

Planning the installation in Qatar

Without its stand, the panel measures 145.9 x 83.4 x 4.7 cm and weighs approximately 23.4 kg, so plan for at least two people to lift it. Wall mounting needs a bracket rated for that weight and matches the centrally placed 300 x 300 mm VESA pattern. The display supports horizontal or vertical mounting. SmartRooms Qatar offers a free site survey before installation to check wall construction, viewing height and cable routes, followed by professional installation.

Where it fits in Qatar

A retailer in West Bay might use it in a street-facing shop window to show promotions, while a corporate reception in Lusail could use it to display meeting schedules clearly under strong lighting. A school in Al Wakrah could fit several units in classrooms and corridors for announcements and timetables. The rated power consumption is 172 W, and the manufacturer states that power use is reduced by up to 31% compared with previous models.

Before placing the screen near windows or in an entrance exposed to heat, confirm the operating environment with the SmartRooms Qatar team, because the source data does not list an operating temperature range. Summer temperatures in Qatar can exceed 45°C, so this check is essential.

Organisations buying several units, such as a school equipping multiple classrooms or a retail group across branches, can raise a purchase order (LPO) or submit through government tenders, including Monaqasat. SmartRooms Qatar delivers to all eight municipalities of Qatar and usually responds to quotation requests within one working day. Request a quote for the FW-65BZ40P today.

Questions about FW-65BZ40P

What is the Sony FW-65BZ40P best used for?

The FW-65BZ40P is a 65-inch 4K professional display for retail, corporate, hospitality and education settings. Its 700 nit brightness keeps content readable in lit spaces, and its built-in Android platform runs signage without a set-top box. It suits a shop in West Bay, a corporate reception in Lusail or a school that needs a durable screen for announcements and timetables.

Will the screen stay readable near windows during the day?

The panel is rated at 700 nit brightness and uses a Deep Black Non-Glare Premium coating to reduce glare, which helps in showrooms and lobbies with strong daylight. The source data does not include a direct sunlight rating, however, so review the exact position with the SmartRooms Qatar team before mounting it close to a window.

Is the FW-65BZ40P suitable for outdoor or heat-exposed locations in Qatar?

The display carries an IP5X dust-resistance rating, but the source data does not list an operating temperature range or any outdoor rating. Summer temperatures in Qatar can exceed 45°C, so confirm the exact location, such as an entrance, terrace or loading area, with the SmartRooms Qatar team before ordering.

Can it run digital signage without an external media player?

Yes. The display has an integrated system-on-chip platform and an Android operating system with 32GB of onboard storage, so it can run smart signage without an external set-top box. A real-time clock keeps content management app schedules maintained when the display is switched off. This reduces cabling in retail stores, hotel lobbies and university corridors. Remote management support varies by sales region, so confirm app requirements when requesting a quote.

Which inputs and ports does the display offer?

There are four HDMI inputs on the side, with HDCP 2.3 support on HDMI 1 to 4, along with two USB ports and one Ethernet port. Wireless LAN is integrated, and Apple AirPlay allows content to be mirrored wirelessly from handheld devices. Having the ports on the side makes cable management easier in meeting rooms and classrooms where the display is wall mounted.

Can the display be controlled from a central system?

Yes. It supports RS-232C control, IP control and HDMI-CEC, which allow integration with room control panels and building systems. It also supports remote management applications from Sony and other developers, subject to regional availability, and offers zero touch provisioning for large multi-screen deployments. Pro Mode can restrict buttons, the remote and inputs to limit tampering.

Does it support 4K and HDR content?

The panel has a 3840 x 2160 resolution and supports HDR10 and HLG. HDMI signals include 3840x2160 at 24, 25, 30, 50 and 60Hz, and 4096x2160 at 24, 50 and 60Hz. Lower resolution sources such as 1080p are upscaled toward near-4K quality, which helps when older media is shown on a large screen in a school or retail space.

What are the dimensions and weight of the panel?

Without the stand, the panel measures 145.9 x 83.4 x 4.7 cm and weighs approximately 23.4 kg. The package carton measures approximately 159.3 x 97.2 x 16.3 cm and weighs approximately 30 kg. Plan for at least two people to handle it and confirm the wall or bracket capacity. SmartRooms Qatar offers a free site survey to check the wall, height and access route before installation.

Is the display suitable for portrait signage?

Yes. The source data lists portrait and tilt compatibility, and the centrally positioned 300 x 300 mm VESA pattern supports horizontal or vertical mounting. Portrait orientation suits wayfinding panels at mall entrances, hospital corridors and lift lobbies where content runs vertically. Confirm the bracket and mounting height during the site survey.

What is the power consumption of the FW-65BZ40P?

Rated power consumption is 172 W, and standby power is 0.5 W. The manufacturer states that power use is reduced by up to 31% compared with previous models. Power Saving Mode and dynamic backlight control are included, and the listed on-mode energy figure is 67 kWh per 1000 hours, which helps facilities teams estimate running costs.

Is the product covered by warranty, and how can a government project order it?

Products supplied by SmartRooms Qatar are covered by the manufacturer's warranty. Government ministries and authorities can order through a purchase order (LPO) or government tenders, including Monaqasat. Payment can be made by bank transfer, cheque or purchase order, and quotations are usually issued within one working day. Delivery covers all eight municipalities of Qatar.
