A media player built for screens that run all day

The Trend TC-24A-i310G is a digital signage media player designed to drive a display continuously rather than for occasional presentations. Its 10th generation i3 processor, 3840x2160 output and active cooling fan form the core of the specification, and the manufacturer lists a 2-year warranty for the unit.

Specifications that shape day-to-day use

Display output: HDMI and DisplayPort graphics outputs, with a listed resolution of 3840x2160.
Processing and memory: 10th generation i3 processor, with memory support from 2GB up to 32GB.
Storage: mSATA and SATA support, with configurable SSD and HDD sizes.
Connectivity: two RJ45 ports at 10/100/1000 Mbps with auto adaptive negotiation, one HDMI, four USB 3.0, four USB 2.0, one SD slot and audio connections.
Power: DC 12V input, listed at 3A/36W and 5A/60W.
Chassis: 135mm x 150mm x 50mm, aluminium alloy and plastic, with VESA mounting support.

Why the cooling fan and start-up options matter

A player that runs around the clock produces sustained heat, so the active fan is central to stable operation. The data does not give an operating temperature range. Before installing near windows, in entrance lobbies or in enclosures exposed to a Qatari summer, where ambient temperatures can pass 45 degrees Celsius, ask the SmartRooms Qatar team to confirm the environment and airflow. The manufacturer also lists call boot and network start, which helps when a player sits in a ceiling void or locked comms room and must start without anyone on site.

Where it fits in Qatar

A shopping centre in Msheireb running promotional loops on a 4K screen fed from the centre's own network.
A private school in Al Rayyan or Lusail showing timetables and announcements in reception and corridors.
A hotel lobby or clinic waiting area where wayfinding screens are driven from a cabinet, with the display mounted on a VESA bracket.

What to plan before ordering

Choose the configuration first: memory, storage and operating system. The default is a Windows 10 Pro trial, while licensed Windows 7, Windows 10, Windows 10 Pro, Linux or DOS installs are available as options. A digital signage software option with 1GB of cloud storage is also listed. Confirm the VESA hole pattern against your display, since the data does not state it. Check that the port count covers your layout, including network and any peripherals. The unit is powered from a DC 12V input, so confirm the power adapter and cabling with our team for Qatar's 240 V, 50 Hz supply.

SmartRooms Qatar supplies the TC-24A-i310G across all eight municipalities of Qatar, with professional installation and a free site survey before any wall or ceiling work. Request a quote and we will usually reply within one working day.

Questions about TC-24A-i310G

What is the Trend TC-24A-i310G used for?

It is a digital signage media player that drives a connected display with content from a network or local storage, designed for continuous operation with an active cooling fan. The manufacturer lists its use as industrial and its ideal usage as 24/7. In Qatar it suits receptions, corridors and lobbies in offices, schools and malls where screens must stay on through the working week and into evening trading hours.

What resolution does it output?

The listed resolution is 3840x2160, which is 4K UHD, and the graphics outputs are HDMI and DisplayPort. The data does not list refresh rates, so confirm that your panel accepts 4K at the refresh rate you need before ordering. For a 4K screen in a Doha shopping centre or a boardroom at West Bay, check that the display input matches the player output and that the cable run is within specification.

Can it run 24/7 through a hot Qatari summer?

The product is listed for 24/7 use and has an active cooling fan, but the source data does not give an operating temperature range. Do not assume it suits unventilated cabinets, windows or outdoor enclosures in summer, when temperatures can exceed 45 degrees Celsius. Ask the SmartRooms Qatar team to confirm the environment, and plan airflow around the unit before installing it in a retail site in Msheireb or Al Sadd.

Which processor and memory does it have?

It uses a 10th generation i3 processor and supports memory sizes of 2GB, 4GB, 8GB, 16GB and 32GB, selected when you order. Simple content on a single screen can usually run on a smaller memory option, while multi-zone layouts and dense motion content need more. Tell us which software you plan to run so we can match the memory to your requirement.

What storage options can I choose?

The unit supports mSATA and SATA storage. Listed mSATA options are 64GB, 128GB, 256GB and 512GB, and listed SATA options are 500GB, 1TB and 2TB. The configuration options also include SSD sizes from 32GB to 512GB and HDD sizes from 512GB to 2TB. A school in Al Wakrah keeping a full year of video and announcement archives needs more capacity than a reception screen running a short loop, so size storage to your content library.

Which operating systems are supported?

The unit comes with a Windows 10 Pro trial by default. Licensed options are Windows 7, Windows 10, Windows 10 Pro, Linux or DOS, and you choose the system when you order. If your digital signage software requires a specific Windows edition, state it in your quote request so the configuration matches the application you will run.

Does it include Wi-Fi and Bluetooth?

Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are listed as optional, so they are not standard on every unit. The integrated LAN is 10/100/1000 Mbps with auto adaptive negotiation, and a wired connection is the more reliable choice for a playlist server or cloud content feed. If a wall display in a Lusail office needs a wireless link to the building network, specify this in your quote request.

How is it mounted and how big is it?

Chassis dimensions are 135mm by 150mm by 50mm, made of aluminium alloy and plastic, and the manufacturer states VESA mounting support. The VESA hole pattern is not listed in the data, so confirm it before ordering brackets. A box this size can sit behind a 4K panel on a bracket or inside a cabinet in a hotel lobby, provided there is airflow around it and room for the cables.

What ports does it have?

The listed ports are one DC input, one HDMI, two RJ45 LAN ports, four USB 2.0, four USB 3.0, one SD slot and audio connections, with HDMI and DisplayPort listed as graphics outputs. Count the ports against your layout, because a keyboard, a touch overlay, a media controller and a network cable can each need one. If your layout needs more connections, raise it with the team before you order.

Can it start without someone pressing the power button?

The data lists call boot and network start. These options let a player start without a person pressing its power button, which is useful when it is installed in a ceiling void, a locked comms room or a remote branch. The exact method depends on the operating system and software you select, so confirm the settings with SmartRooms Qatar before installation.

What warranty comes with it?

The manufacturer lists a 2-year warranty for this model, and products supplied by SmartRooms Qatar are covered by the manufacturer's warranty. For a ministry or school that keeps an asset register, store the quotation and the purchase order together so the purchase date and the warranty period are recorded in one place for audit.

How do we order for a school project or government tender?

SmartRooms Qatar supplies against purchase orders and LPOs, and can work with government tenders, including those published on Monaqasat. Payment by bank transfer, cheque or purchase order is accepted. For a school in Education City buying several units, send the model, the configuration choices and the quantity, and we will prepare a quotation, usually within one working day, with a free site survey if wall mounting is involved.
