Overview

The Trend TD-55IWUTF is a 55-inch on-wall display with an integrated Android media player, so content can run without a separate PC beside the screen. It offers 280 cd/m² brightness, typical contrast of 1300:1, LAN networking and an operating range of 0 to 50°C for continuous use. It suits lobbies, clinic waiting rooms and retail walls across Doha and wider Qatar that need scheduled signage. Request a quote and the SmartRooms Qatar team will confirm the right configuration.

What the TD-55IWUTF is

The Trend TD-55IWUTF is a 55-inch display for on-wall digital signage with an Android media player built into the unit. It is intended for promotions, wayfinding, menu boards and information loops that run during opening hours, so the screen and its content player arrive as one item rather than a display plus a separate PC. The manufacturer lists a display area of 1209.6 mm by 680.4 mm, a footprint that suits corridors, lobbies and retail walls where a large panel has to sit flat against the wall.

Display performance and operating conditions

Brightness is listed at 280 cd/m², with typical contrast of 1300:1 and a refresh rate of 60Hz. The viewing angle is rated at 89 degrees in each direction (minimum, CR≥10), so people walking past at an angle can still read the content. The matte surface, rated at 3% haze with a 2H hard coating, is designed to cut reflections from ceiling lights and glazing.

The unit is rated for 24/7 operation, with an operating range of 0 to 50°C and storage from -20 to 60°C. Summer outdoor temperatures in Qatar can exceed 45°C, so the 50°C upper limit should be checked against the room temperature, not the temperature outside. Confirm the ambient temperature and ventilation of the intended location with the SmartRooms Qatar team before the mounting position is agreed.

Resolution note: the product name refers to Full HD, but the manufacturer listing gives 3840 × 2160 (UHD). Ask the team to confirm the exact panel resolution for your order before you prepare artwork.

Media player, storage and connectivity

Integrated Android media player on an RK3288 platform, with 2GB memory and 8GB storage in the base unit.
Android 5.1 and Android 7.1 are the listed operating systems.
Optional memory of 4GB, 8GB or 16GB, and optional SSD storage from 32GB up to 256GB.
A Windows option with an i3, i5 or i7 processor, 4GB RAM and 128GB SSD, for content that needs Windows.
LAN networking as standard, with Wi-Fi optional.

Some configurations have no media player and take an HDMI input instead, which suits a signal from an existing player or PC. Touch is available as an option in infrared or capacitive form, and a digital signage software package with 1GB cloud server storage is listed as an option too. Choose these at quotation stage so the order matches how the screen will be used.

Where it fits in Qatar

Clinic waiting room in Al Sadd: a 55-inch screen showing queue information and scheduled health-awareness content, updated over the network from a central location.
Bank branch in Msheireb: rotating product and service messages beside the queue area, with content edits made from the office.
Hotel lobby in West Bay: arrival, event and dining information on a wall that must stay readable through the day, with the unit installed in an air-conditioned lobby.

Planning the installation

A site survey should check the wall construction, the fixing position, the viewing distance from the main approach and the route for power and network cabling. The listed input range of 110V to 240V covers Qatar's 240 V supply. SmartRooms Qatar offers free site surveys before a wall mount is fixed, which matters for a panel of this size. Confirm socket positions and cable routing during the same visit.

Plan the network connection early. LAN is the standard connection, so a cable run to the wall position should be included in the scope, and Wi-Fi should be specified at quotation stage if you need it. The manufacturer's warranty for this model is one year. SmartRooms Qatar delivers to all eight municipalities, and ministries, schools and companies can order against a purchase order (LPO) or through Monaqasat tenders, paying by bank transfer, cheque or purchase order. Send the mounting location, the content plan and the number of units to the team and request a quote for the TD-55IWUTF.

Questions about TD-55IWUTF

What is the Trend TD-55IWUTF designed for?

It is a 55-inch display for wall-mounted digital signage, with an Android media player built in, so it can run promotional loops, wayfinding and information screens without a separate PC beside it. It suits lobbies, corridors and retail walls where content must run through opening hours. The manufacturer rates it for 24/7 operation, which makes it suitable for signage that stays on all day rather than for occasional presentations.

Which media player does the TD-55IWUTF include?

The base unit has an integrated Android media player on an RK3288 platform, with 2GB memory and 8GB storage, running Android 5.1 or 7.1. If your content needs Windows, a configuration with an integrated Windows media player, an i3, i5 or i7 processor, 4GB RAM and 128GB SSD is listed. Tell the SmartRooms Qatar team which software your content requires before choosing a configuration.

What resolution does this model have?

The manufacturer listing gives the resolution as 3840 × 2160 (UHD), although the product name refers to Full HD. Because the two descriptions conflict, confirm the exact panel resolution with SmartRooms Qatar before you finalise artwork. The listed display area is 1209.6 mm by 680.4 mm, so designers can work from the physical size when setting text and graphic dimensions for the screen.

Will the screen be readable in a bright lobby with large windows?

Brightness is listed at 280 cd/m², with typical contrast of 1300:1. The matte surface, rated at 3% haze with a 2H hard coating, helps reduce reflections from ceiling lights and glazing. Where direct sunlight falls on the screen through large windows, position it away from the glare and ask the SmartRooms Qatar team to review sightlines during the site survey.

Can this display handle Qatar's summer heat?

The listed operating range is 0 to 50°C, and storage is rated from -20 to 60°C. Outdoor summer temperatures in Qatar can exceed 45°C, so the unit should sit in a space where the room temperature stays well inside that range. Confirm the ambient temperature and ventilation of the intended location with SmartRooms Qatar before ordering, particularly for covered entrances or glazed atria.

Is it suitable for a clinic or hospital waiting area in Doha?

It can suit a clinic waiting area in Doha, for example in Al Sadd, where a 55-inch screen can show queue information and scheduled health-awareness messages. The unit is rated for continuous operation and connects by LAN as standard, so content can be updated centrally. Ask SmartRooms Qatar to check the mounting height and viewing distance from the seating area during the site survey.

How is content updated, and what networking does it need?

The unit uses LAN as standard, and Wi-Fi is an optional extra, so decide on the connection before cabling the wall. The manufacturer describes content management through local or remote access, and an optional digital signage software package with 1GB cloud server storage is listed. A network point near the mounting position will simplify both the initial setup and later content changes.

Do we need the touch screen option?

Touch is optional, with infrared or capacitive technology listed. Choose it only if the screen will be used for interactive wayfinding, directories or kiosk-style menus, where visitors tap the display. For passive signage such as promotional loops or information boards, the non-touch version is the better fit because the content does not need input from the viewer.

How should it be positioned in a corridor or office entrance in Lusail?

The viewing angle is rated at 89 degrees in each direction (minimum, CR≥10), so the screen stays readable from a wide arc. Position it where people approach it head-on, and avoid placing it opposite a window with direct afternoon sun. A free site survey from SmartRooms Qatar can check the wall construction, the fixing point and the sightlines before the mounting position is fixed.

We need several units for a school or ministry. How do we order?

Send the quantity and the configuration for each site with your request. SmartRooms Qatar supports purchase orders (LPOs) and government tenders, including Monaqasat, and accepts payment by bank transfer, cheque or purchase order. Quotations are usually issued within one working day. Sites that need different media players or touch options should be listed separately so the quotation reflects each location.

What warranty and power input apply to this model?

Products are covered by the manufacturer's warranty, and the figure listed for this model is one year. The listed input voltage is 110V to 240V, which covers Qatar's 240 V supply, but the cable and socket arrangement at the installation point should still be confirmed during the site survey before the unit is mounted.
