What the 65GM60AE is built for

The Hisense 65GM60AE is a 65-inch digital signage display with a 3840 x 2160 4K UHD panel. It is designed for indoor screens that run most of the day: promotions in a shop, queue and wayfinding information in a bank, or announcements in a corporate foyer. A DLED backlight gives 500 nits of typical brightness and a 1200:1 typical contrast ratio, so colours stay clear in brightly lit rooms.

Operation is rated at 18 hours a day, seven days a week, and the listed panel lifetime is 50,000 hours. The 60Hz refresh rate handles slides, menus and standard video loops. The 178° viewing angle suits people who pass the screen from different sides, such as shoppers walking along a mall corridor.

Connectivity, playback and control

Inputs cover two HDMI, one DisplayPort, one VGA and two USB ports, with a single HDMI output and an audio output for feeding another display or sound system. A 10/100Mbps LAN port and 2.4GHz Wi-Fi handle network connection, and the display can synchronise its clock to the local time zone once online.

The unit runs Android 9.0 and has internal memory, so you can store media and play it without a computer, which is useful at a reception desk where a PC would be a point of failure. Central management is possible through the manufacturer's Smart CMS, which lets you edit playlists, monitor status and send real-time control, and you are free to use a different CMS if you prefer. RS232 control ports support external control systems, and an IR remote is included.

Where it fits across Qatar

Retail in Msheireb or Lusail: rotating promotions on screens near the entrance, updated from one central playlist.
Bank branch in Al Sadd: queue numbers, product information and service guidance in a waiting area that runs through business hours.
Hotel or serviced apartment lobby in West Bay: arrival information and welcome content, shown in portrait on a column-style mount where the layout calls for it.

Keep the panel in an air-conditioned indoor space. Its listed operating range is 0 to 40°C and 20% to 80% humidity, while Qatar summers can pass 45°C. Avoid direct sun and outdoor-facing glass, and confirm the exact spot with the SmartRooms Qatar team before fixing the wall bracket.

Planning the installation

The display weighs 20kg net and measures 1455.5 x 834.4 x 71.1mm, with bezels of 12mm on the sides and top and 16mm at the bottom. It takes a 400 x 400mm VESA wall mount. Typical power use is 240W, standby is under 0.5W, and the input accepts 100 to 240V at 50 to 60Hz, which covers Qatar's 240V, 50Hz supply.

Plan the wall or column before ordering: check the bracket, cable routing and power socket position. SmartRooms Qatar offers free site surveys, which is worth doing before mounting a screen in a lobby or fitting out several units. Multiple units can be ordered on an LPO, and delivery covers all eight municipalities of Qatar.

Request a quote from SmartRooms Qatar with your quantity, mounting location and content sources, and the team will reply with a quotation, usually within one working day.

Questions about 65GM60AE

What is the Hisense 65GM60AE designed for?

It is a 65-inch 4K UHD display for indoor digital signage that runs most of the day. Typical uses are promotional loops in a shop, queue and wayfinding information in a bank, or announcements in a corporate reception. Its rating of 18 hours a day, seven days a week, suits venues with long opening hours, such as malls and hotels in Doha.

Can I use the 65GM60AE outdoors or near a sunny window in Qatar?

No, it is designed for indoor use. Its listed operating temperature is 0 to 40°C with 20% to 80% humidity, and Qatar summer temperatures can exceed 45°C. Keep it in an air-conditioned space, out of direct sun and away from outdoor-facing glass. The SmartRooms Qatar team can help confirm the location during the free site survey before installation.

How bright is the screen for a lobby with strong daytime light?

Typical brightness is 500 nits, with a typical contrast ratio of 1200:1 and a DLED backlight. That level suits brightly lit shops and offices, but it is not an outdoor sunlight rating. If the lobby has a large window facing the street, position the screen to reduce glare and check the layout during the site survey.

Can the screen be mounted in portrait orientation?

Yes, the display supports both landscape and portrait orientation, so a column-style setup works for directory boards or menus in hotel lobbies and malls. It has a 400 x 400mm VESA mounting pattern and weighs 20kg net, so confirm the bracket rating and wall structure before ordering several units.

What connections does it offer for laptops, media players and control systems?

Inputs are two HDMI, one DisplayPort, one VGA, two USB and one RS232. Outputs are one HDMI, one audio and one RS232. Network access uses a 10/100Mbps LAN port or 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. An RS232 cable and an IR remote controller are supplied in the box, so you can control the screen from a remote or a building control system.

Does it need a PC to run playlists?

No. The display runs Android 9.0 and has internal memory, so you can store media and play it without a computer. This is useful at a reception desk where a PC could stop working. Playlists can also be driven from a content management system, and you are free to choose which CMS you use.

Which content management system should I use with it?

You can choose your own CMS, as the display is not tied to one platform. The manufacturer's Smart CMS lets you edit and arrange playlists, play rich media in synchronised playback across multiple displays, and monitor status with real-time control. For a retail chain in Doha with several branches, a central CMS makes it easier to update every screen at once.

Does it have built-in speakers?

Yes, two 9W speakers are built in. That is enough for short audio cues or background sound in a small area. Large atriums or noisy shop floors usually need external audio, and the audio output can feed a separate sound system. Discuss audio requirements with the SmartRooms Qatar team when you request a quote.

How much power does it use, and does it suit Qatar's mains supply?

Typical power consumption is 240W, with standby below 0.5W. The input is rated 100 to 240V at 50 to 60Hz, which covers Qatar's 240V, 50Hz supply. Position the mains socket close to the mounting point, and route the power cord away from the bracket so the installation stays tidy and safe.

Can a school or government office order several units at once?

Yes. Multiple units can be ordered on a purchase order (LPO) or through a government tender, including Monaqasat. Send your quantity, mounting positions and content sources with your quote request, and SmartRooms Qatar will quote for the full set. Delivery covers all eight municipalities of Qatar.

What comes in the box?

The box includes a user manual, a remote controller with battery, a power cord and an RS232 cable. Wall mounting hardware is not listed in the manufacturer data, so confirm with SmartRooms Qatar whether a bracket is included in your quotation before planning the installation.

Is a site survey available before installation?

Yes, SmartRooms Qatar offers free site surveys. For a 65-inch panel weighing 20kg, the survey checks the wall, the power point, the viewing distance and the cable route. SmartRooms Qatar also handles professional installation, and quotations are usually sent within one working day of your request.
