LG 105BM5N 105-inch UltraWide Digital Signage Display

Overview

The LG 105BM5N is a 105-inch 21:9 stretched display with a 5,120 × 2,160 (5K) panel, built-in power and an OPS slot for a plug-in PC module. A 100W USB-C port, LG ConnectedCare DMS remote management and 64GB of internal storage suit boardrooms, command centres and premium lobbies in Qatar. Request a quote and we will plan the mounting.

What the LG 105BM5N is built for

The LG 105BM5N is a 105-inch stretched display with a 21:9 aspect ratio, giving a much wider canvas than a standard 16:9 panel. A single image, several windows side by side or a full videoconference gallery can sit on one screen without splitting it into separate displays. The native resolution is 5,120 × 2,160 pixels. The VA panel is rated at 400 nits typical and 350 nits minimum, with a 4,000:1 contrast ratio. The screen is landscape only, so it must be mounted in that orientation.

Connections and computing inside the screen

Four HDMI inputs (one HDMI 2.1 and three HDMI 2.0) and one DisplayPort input with HDCP 2.3 cover laptops, media players and room systems. A USB Type-C port delivers up to 100W power delivery with DisplayPort Alt mode, so a compatible laptop can charge while it displays. The rear OPS slot, with OPS power built in, accepts an optional module such as the OPSJ-5LDJA (4K), so the display can run Windows software without an external PC. Wireless sharing through LG CreateBoard Share supports up to nine shared screens. The unit also includes 64GB internal memory, 8GB RAM, Wi-Fi 6 and Gigabit LAN.

Where it fits in Qatar

Three situations show the range of the 105BM5N:

Ministry boardroom in West Bay: a wide display for video calls with teams abroad, with the agenda and Arabic and English documents shown beside the participants.
Operations command centre in the Industrial Area or Ras Laffan: several dashboards and live feeds on one wide canvas, managed from the IT office.
Hotel or mall lobby in Lusail or The Pearl: schedules, wayfinding and event notices, deployed in an air-conditioned foyer.

Planning the installation

Planning starts with weight and wall. The head weighs 90.1 kg and the packed unit weighs 122.9 kg, so the wall or frame must be checked before delivery. The overall size is 2510.6 × 1123.1 × 93.6 mm, with a VESA pattern of 1000 × 400 mm and a 23 mm bottom bezel against 3.5 mm on the other sides. The operating range is 0 to 40 °C with 10 to 90% humidity. Summer temperatures in Qatar often pass 45 °C, so the display should sit in a cooled room, and the cooling capacity should be confirmed during the site survey. Power is built in and accepts AC 100-240V at 50/60Hz, typically drawing 350W and up to 850W at maximum, with standby at 0.5W or less.

Questions about 105BM5N

Is the LG 105BM5N suitable for a hotel or mall lobby in Lusail or The Pearl?

Yes, it is built for digital signage, and its 21:9 format gives schedules, wayfinding and event notices a wide, readable area. The specification lists operation hours of 16 hours a day, 7 days a week, which fits the opening hours of hotels and malls. The lobby must be air-conditioned, and a site survey will confirm the wall position, sightlines and cable routes before installation.

Will it work in a boardroom in West Bay?

Yes, provided the room is large enough for a 105-inch screen. The 21:9 format shows a widescreen video call with several participants alongside documents, which suits meetings where Arabic and English materials are shared. A free site survey from SmartRooms Qatar confirms the viewing position and wall before fixing.

What resolution and brightness does the panel offer?

The native resolution is 5,120 × 2,160 pixels (5K). The VA panel is rated at 400 nits typical and 350 nits minimum, with 4,000:1 contrast, 5,000:1 dynamic contrast, a 60Hz refresh rate, a 6.5ms response time and 10-bit colour (8-bit plus FRC). The 4mm protection glass has a 5% anti-reflective rating.

Can it run Windows software without a separate PC?

Yes, through the rear OPS slot. The slot has OPS power built in and accepts an OPS module, and the optional OPSJ-5LDJA (4K) is listed as an accessory. With a module fitted, the display can run PC functions and Windows software, so no desktop computer needs to be placed in the room.

What can the USB Type-C port do?

The USB Type-C port provides 100W power delivery with DisplayPort Alt mode, so one cable can carry video, data and charging for a compatible laptop. It sits alongside four USB 3.0 Type-A, three USB 2.0 Type-A and three USB 2.0 Type-B outputs, which helps when presenters connect several devices at once.

How can I manage several units remotely?

The model supports LG ConnectedCare DMS, a cloud solution for monitoring and controlling devices. IT managers can select displays, change general and power settings, manage applications and multimedia, set power on and off schedules, and send broadcast or urgent alert messages from one hub. This reduces site visits when displays are spread across Doha.

Will it cope with Qatar's summer heat?

Its operating range is 0 to 40 °C with 10 to 90% humidity, so it is intended for air-conditioned indoor rooms. Summer temperatures in Qatar often pass 45 °C, so it should not be placed in an unconditioned space, an outdoor area or a room with direct sun through glazing. Confirm the room's cooling capacity during the site survey.

How heavy is it and what does wall mounting require?

The head weighs 90.1 kg and the packed unit weighs 122.9 kg. It uses a VESA pattern of 1000 × 400 mm, and a wall mount is listed among the basic accessories. Because the load is substantial, a qualified installer should check the wall or frame before delivery, and SmartRooms Qatar offers a free site survey before any fixing.

Does it work with Qatar's electrical supply?

The built-in power supply is rated AC 100-240V at 50/60Hz, which covers Qatar's 240 V mains. Typical consumption is 350W and maximum is 850W, and standby draw is 0.5W or less. A power cord is included in the basic accessories, so confirm the plug type with the SmartRooms Qatar team to match the sockets in your building.

Is it suitable for an operations command centre in the Industrial Area or Ras Laffan?

A 105-inch 21:9 canvas suits a control room where operators follow several dashboards, camera feeds or process views at once. HDMI, DisplayPort and RS232C inputs help connect existing systems, and remote management lets IT staff adjust the display without visiting the site. Check the room environment and temperature before installation.

Can a university in Education City use it for lectures?

It can work in a lecture hall or seminar room large enough for a screen of this size. The 21:9 format suits presentations that combine a wide slide with a live feed, and Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2 and LG CreateBoard Share let presenters share from their own devices. The site survey will confirm seating distance and sightlines.

How do I request a quote and how long does it take?

Send the room size, mounting wall, number of units and intended content, and the SmartRooms Qatar team usually issues a quotation within one working day. We deliver to all eight municipalities, install professionally and accept purchase orders (LPOs), government tenders, and payment by bank transfer, cheque or purchase order. Lead times are estimates confirmed with the quotation, based on stock.
