What the LG 43UH5J-H is and who still needs it

The LG 43UH5J-H is a 43-inch UHD standard signage display from the UH5J series. The manufacturer has discontinued this model, so this page serves organisations that already run it, buyers comparing it with newer displays, and anyone who needs a replacement. SmartRooms Qatar can quote a current equivalent or a compatible replacement, and the points below explain what to match.

Panel, brightness and image quality

The IPS panel offers 3840 x 2160 native resolution on a 16:9 aspect ratio. Typical brightness is 500 nit, a level suited to indoor rooms with ordinary lighting, and the 25% haze surface treatment softens reflections from windows and ceiling lights. Viewing angles are 178 degrees both horizontally and vertically, so people standing at the side of a lobby or corridor still see the picture. The panel reports 1.07 billion colours, 95% BT709 gamut coverage, a 1,200:1 contrast ratio and an 8 ms grey-to-grey response time at 60Hz. The rated lifetime is at least 50,000 hours, with operation specified as 24/7.

Connectivity, control and software

Three HDMI inputs, one DisplayPort input and one DVI-D input
HDMI output for daisy chaining from the HDMI or DisplayPort inputs
RS232C in and out, RJ45 LAN input and IR input for control
Crestron Connected, SNMP and Wake on LAN for network management
One USB 2.0 Type A port and audio in and out

The display runs webOS 6.0 with 16GB of internal eMMC storage, built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, local content scheduling, group management, fail over, picture-in-picture and four-way picture-by-picture modes. It is compatible with SuperSign CMS, SuperSign Control+, SuperSign WB and Mobile CMS. The model is not listed with an RGB input or touch USB, so confirm any touch or PC input needs before ordering.

Where it fits in Qatar

In a West Bay or Lusail office, a 43-inch panel suits a boardroom wall, a reception display showing meeting schedules, or a waiting area where staff and visitors read room information. In Msheireb or Al Sadd, retail and hotel lobbies can use portrait mode for wayfinding and promotions near entrances. Offices in the Industrial Area or Mesaieed can place it in air-conditioned rooms.

Qatar summers push outdoor temperatures above 45 °C, while this model is specified for 0 to 40 °C and 10 to 80% humidity. Keep it inside air-conditioned spaces and confirm room temperature and airflow with the SmartRooms Qatar team before installation. The IP5X dust protection and conformal coating on the power board help in dusty environments, but this is not an outdoor product.

Power, size and mounting planning

The built-in power supply accepts AC 100-240V at 50/60Hz, which covers Qatar's 240 V mains. Confirm that the supplied power cord's plug matches your BS 1363 sockets. Typical consumption is 80W and maximum is 120W, with a smart energy saving mode rated at 56W. The head measures 962.5 x 568.0 x 39.9 mm and weighs 11.2 kg, or 11.8 kg with the optional ST-653T stand. The VESA pattern is 200 x 200 mm, and the optional LSW240B wall bracket is available. Tilt is limited to 15 degrees face down.

Before wall mounting, SmartRooms Qatar offers a free site survey to check wall strength, cable routing and ventilation. For a school or government office buying several units, we can issue a quotation, usually within one working day, for a purchase order or tender.

Request a quote for this model, or ask for a current equivalent that matches your connectivity and mounting plan.

Questions about 43UH5J-H

Is the LG 43UH5J-H still sold by SmartRooms Qatar?

The manufacturer has discontinued this model, so availability cannot be assumed. Request a quote and the SmartRooms Qatar team will confirm what can be supplied, then recommend a current equivalent or a compatible replacement. Quotations are usually issued within one working day, so you can compare options before committing to a purchase order.

What is the LG 43UH5J-H designed for?

It is a 43-inch UHD standard signage display for indoor information and advertising. Its typical brightness of 500 nit is the level the manufacturer recommends for indoor use, making it suited to meeting rooms, reception areas, shopping malls and airport concourses. A West Bay office might use it for room schedules, while a Lusail retailer might show promotions near the entrance.

Can this display run in a hot room in Doha during summer?

Its specified operating range is 0 to 40 °C with 10 to 80% humidity. Outdoor temperatures in Qatar can exceed 45 °C in summer, so install it in an air-conditioned space and avoid direct sun from windows. Confirm room temperature and airflow with the SmartRooms Qatar team before installation, particularly for a lobby with frequent door openings and dust.

Does it work on Qatar's 240 V mains supply?

The built-in power supply is rated AC 100-240V at 50/60Hz, which covers Qatar's 240 V supply. Typical consumption is 80W and maximum is 120W, with an energy saving mode rated at 56W. Check that the supplied power cord's plug fits the BS 1363 (Type G) sockets in your building, and confirm with the team before issuing a purchase order for several units.

Which video inputs and outputs does it have?

It offers three HDMI inputs, one DisplayPort input and one DVI-D input, plus audio in and out and one USB 2.0 Type A port. An HDMI output allows daisy chaining from the HDMI or DisplayPort inputs. It has no DisplayPort output, no RGB input and no touch USB, so check that your media player or computer matches these ports before ordering.

Can it be controlled from a room AV control system?

Yes. The model supports Crestron Connected for integration with professional AV controls, and it provides RS232C in and out, an RJ45 LAN input and an IR input. SNMP and Wake on LAN support network management. Crestron Connected control works over the network. Ask the SmartRooms Qatar team which protocol your meeting room controller needs before ordering.

Can it be used in portrait mode for wayfinding or menus?

Yes, the panel supports both portrait and landscape orientation, with screen rotation and external input rotation settings. This suits directory screens in a mall corridor in Msheireb or a hotel entrance in The Pearl, where a tall format shows floor listings or room information. Plan the wall space and cable route first, because a portrait installation changes the mounting height.

Can I add an OPS computer to it?

It is compatible with OPS modules in the piggyback format, but OPS power is not built in, so you need to plan how the module is powered. An optional OPS kit, KT-OPSF, is available. If you want a computer inside the display for content playback, ask SmartRooms Qatar to confirm the power arrangement and the space available before ordering.

What wall mounting does it need and how heavy is it?

The head weighs 11.2 kg and 11.8 kg with the optional ST-653T stand. It uses a 200 x 200 mm VESA pattern, and the optional LSW240B wall bracket is available. Dimensions are 962.5 x 568.0 x 39.9 mm. Book a free site survey before wall mounting to check wall strength, cable routing and ventilation, especially in an office or lobby with glass partitions.

Which content management software works with it?

It supports SuperSign CMS, SuperSign Control+, SuperSign WB, Mobile CMS and Connected Care. SuperSign Cloud is not listed for this model. The display has 16GB of internal storage, local content scheduling, group management and fail over, which help a school or retail group manage several screens from one place. Confirm your preferred software with the team when requesting a quote.

Can a school or government office buy several units on an LPO?

Yes. SmartRooms Qatar supplies against purchase orders (LPOs), government tenders, and payment by bank transfer, cheque or purchase order. A school in Al Wakrah fitting out several classrooms, or a ministry office in Doha, can send the unit count and sites in one request. Quotations are usually issued within one working day, and the team can recommend a current equivalent if the discontinued model is no longer suitable.
