Name: LG 43UH5N-E 43-inch UHD Digital Signage Display
Brand: LG
SKU: lg-43uh5n-e
Availability: Discontinued

Overview

The LG 43UH5N-E is a 43-inch UHD signage display with a 3840 x 2160 IPS panel and built-in webOS 6.0, so it can run content without a separate media player. It is specified for 24/7 operation, carries an IP5X dust rating and suits lobbies, corridors and meeting areas in Qatar. LG has discontinued this model, so SmartRooms Qatar can quote a current equivalent or compatible replacement.

What the LG 43UH5N-E is built to do

The LG 43UH5N-E is a 43-inch UHD signage display for businesses that need sharp, always-on screens in reception areas, corridors and waiting spaces. Its 3840 x 2160 IPS panel offers four times the pixel count of a Full HD screen, and the anti-glare surface helps keep content readable near windows and in bright lobbies.

Inside the frame, a webOS 6.0 platform with 16GB of internal memory and built-in Wi-Fi lets the screen play content on its own. Playlists can be scheduled locally, content can be pulled from a URL, and multi-screen schedules can be managed through SuperSign CMS, SuperSign Control or SuperSign Cloud.

Panel and connection figures that matter

Brightness: 500 nit typical, with a 1,000:1 contrast ratio and 95% BT709 colour gamut.
Inputs: three HDMI inputs and one DisplayPort input, each supporting 3840 x 2160 at 60Hz.
Daisy chain: an HDMI output at 3840 x 2160 at 30Hz lets one screen pass its signal to the next.
Control: RS232C in and out, IR in and an RJ45 LAN port for network management.
Orientation: supports both portrait and landscape mounting.

Durability and power for business sites

The display carries an IP5X dust rating and a conformal coating on its power board, which protects against salt, dust, iron powder and humidity. The panel tilts up to 30 degrees for face-down mounting. The operating range is 0 to 40 degrees C with 10 to 80 percent humidity, so it belongs in air-conditioned rooms. Qatar summers can exceed 45 degrees C, which makes outdoor or unventilated positions unsuitable. Power is listed as AC 100-240 V, 50/60 Hz, with 80 W typical and 120 W maximum draw, and 56 W in Smart Energy Saving mode.

Where it fits in Qatar

A government service centre in Doha could place the screen beside a counter to show queue numbers and announcements, with local scheduling keeping messages current without a PC at every desk. A private school in Al Wakrah could mount several units in portrait orientation along a corridor for room numbers and event notices. A hotel in West Bay could run a welcome loop in its lift lobby, updated remotely from head office.

Planning the installation

The bezels measure 8.9 mm on the sides and top and 12.9 mm at the bottom. Hidden power inlets and the slim bracket allow the panel to sit about 13 mm from the wall. The head weighs 11.1 kg and the packed unit 12.8 kg, and the dimensions are 963.0 x 556.2 x 29.7 mm without IR. The VESA pattern is 200 x 200. Optional mounts include the slim wall mount WB21LMA/B, the wall mount OLW480A/B and the adapter AM-B330S. A free site survey helps confirm the bracket, wall load and cable route before installation.

LG has discontinued this model. If your organisation already runs one or more units, SmartRooms Qatar can advise on accessories that fit them. Questions about 43UH5N-E

Has LG discontinued the 43UH5N-E?

Yes. LG has discontinued this model, so it is no longer in the current range. If your organisation already runs one or more units, SmartRooms Qatar can advise on mounting and accessories that fit them. If you are planning a new purchase or comparing options, request a quote for a current equivalent or a compatible replacement, and our team will recommend the closest match for your screen size, mounting and content needs.

Would this 43-inch screen suit a government service centre reception in Doha?

Yes, for a counter-side or waiting-area screen. The 3840 x 2160 panel with 500 nit typical brightness shows queue numbers and announcements clearly at a normal viewing distance. Local scheduling lets staff update content on a timetable, and the built-in speaker is available for audio announcements. Ask us to confirm placement and lighting during a site survey before mounting.

Do I need a separate media player to run content on it?

Not for standard playback. The webOS 6.0 platform, 16GB of internal memory and built-in Wi-Fi allow the display to run content itself. It can also play content from a URL or from a USB device plugged into the USB 2.0 Type A port. For multi-screen schedules, SuperSign CMS, SuperSign Control or SuperSign Cloud can manage content centrally across your sites.

What inputs and outputs does the LG 43UH5N-E offer?

It has three HDMI inputs and one DisplayPort input, each supporting 3840 x 2160 at 60Hz. An HDMI output at 3840 x 2160 at 30Hz allows a daisy chain to a second display. Control options include RS232C in and out, IR in and an RJ45 LAN port. There is also one audio out and one USB 2.0 Type A port. Confirm that your source device's output matches these ports before ordering.

Can a school in Al Wakrah use it in portrait orientation for corridor wayfinding?

Yes. The panel supports both portrait and landscape orientation, so a tall, narrow screen can show room numbers, timetables or event notices on a corridor wall. The 8.9 mm side bezels suit a row of screens with small gaps. With the slim bracket the panel sits about 13 mm from the wall, so plan cable routes before the installer arrives.

Can it be placed near a window or in an unconditioned area in the Industrial Area?

No, not in unconditioned spaces. The operating range is 0 to 40 degrees C with 10 to 80 percent humidity, and Qatar summers can exceed 45 degrees C. Keep it in an air-conditioned room. The anti-glare coating helps near windows and the IP5X rating covers dust, but neither makes it suitable for outdoor or hot, unventilated sites. Confirm your environment with our team first.

How much power does it draw, and will it work on Qatar mains?

The power supply is listed as AC 100-240 V, 50/60 Hz, which covers Qatar's 240 V, 50 Hz supply. Typical draw is 80 W and maximum draw is 120 W. In Smart Energy Saving mode the draw falls to 56 W, and power-off draw is 0.5 W. Confirm with your installer that the supplied power cord fits BS 1363 sockets before installation.

What mounting options and space does it need?

It uses a 200 x 200 VESA pattern and has 8.9 mm side and top bezels with a 12.9 mm bottom bezel. The head weighs 11.1 kg and measures 963.0 x 556.2 x 29.7 mm without IR. Optional mounts are the slim wall mount WB21LMA/B, the wall mount OLW480A/B and the adapter AM-B330S. Request a free site survey so we can confirm the bracket and wall load.

Does it include security features suitable for a bank or ministry?

It includes LG's Enhanced Kernel Protection technology, designed to protect data from external access or attacks. The product data lists this model as ISO/IEC 15408 Common Criteria EAL2 certified. It also supports SNMP and Wake on LAN for network management. Before connecting the display to the LAN, have your IT team review your network policy, as a bank or ministry network will have its own access rules.

Can a bank with branches across Doha and Lusail manage screens from one place?

Yes. The display supports SuperSign CMS, SuperSign Control and SuperSign Cloud, along with Group Manager, Local Network Sync and status mailing. Branch staff can receive status alerts while head office schedules campaigns. Built-in Wi-Fi supports wireless connection, and Wake on LAN helps power units on remotely. Confirm which SuperSign version fits your rollout with our team.

Would it suit a West Bay hotel lobby welcome loop?

It can, for a lobby or lift-area screen. The 1,000:1 contrast ratio, 95% BT709 colour gamut and 10-bit colour depth suit imagery and promotional loops, and the 24/7 operation rating covers continuous playback. Keep the screen indoors, away from direct sunlight, and set the loop schedule locally so updates do not need a PC. A site survey can confirm mounting height and cable routing.
