LG 43UL3J: a 43-inch UHD signage display running webOS 6.0

The LG 43UL3J is a 43-inch display that works in landscape or portrait and is built for information screens, menu boards and wayfinding. Its 3840 x 2160 IPS panel shows fine text and colour detail at close range, and its 178-degree horizontal and vertical viewing angles keep content readable from the side of a corridor or seating area. LG has discontinued this model. If your organisation already runs one, or you are comparing it with newer signage displays, SmartRooms Qatar can quote a current equivalent or a compatible replacement.

Specifications that shape a signage deployment

Resolution: 3840 x 2160 native UHD on a 16:9 panel
Brightness and contrast: 300 nit typical and a 1,300:1 contrast ratio
Response time: 8ms grey to grey at a 60Hz refresh rate
Operating hours: rated for 16 hours a day, 7 days a week, with a panel life of at least 30,000 hours
Connectivity: three HDMI inputs, one RJ45 LAN input, RS232C in and out, two USB 2.0 Type A ports and audio out
Software: webOS 6.0, 8GB internal memory, built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, Crestron Connected and Cisco certification, and SuperSign CMS support

Two built-in 10W speakers mean announcements and background audio can run in many rooms without an external amplifier. An auto brightness sensor adjusts the screen to room light, and a temperature sensor reports the unit's internal condition. The display does not accept an OPS computer module and is not a touchscreen, so content has to come from a network source, a USB device or an external media player.

Where it fits in Qatar

In a hotel lobby in West Bay, the 43UL3J can show arrival details, meeting room schedules and wayfinding in either orientation. A private school in Al Wakrah fitting out new corridors could install several units for timetables and announcements, managed from one office over the network. In a clinic in Msheireb, a screen in the waiting area can show queue notices and health information, mounted at a height suited to seated visitors.

Summer temperatures in Doha can pass 45°C, while the rated operating range is 0°C to 40°C (0°C to 35°C in portrait). Install the display indoors in an air-conditioned space, keep it out of direct sun through glass, and leave clear space around the cabinet for airflow. Keep it away from external doors that let in dust during dust storms. Our team checks site conditions during the free site survey.

Planning the mount, power and network

The head weighs 8.8 kg, or 10.9 kg packed, so choose a wall bracket rated for that load
The VESA mounting pattern is 200 x 200 mm
The monitor measures 967 x 564 x 57.1 mm, so check the bracket depth and cable space
Power input is AC 100-240 V, 50/60 Hz with a built-in power supply, typically 80W and at most 120W
Remote monitoring needs a wired LAN connection, and built-in Wi-Fi offers a second option

The 100-240 V input range covers Qatar's 240 V, 50 Hz supply. Ask for a free site survey before ordering several units. The survey checks wall structure, cable routes, sockets and ventilation, so the quotation matches your room. Quotations are usually issued within one working day. We deliver to all eight municipalities of Qatar, provide professional installation, and accept LPOs, government tender paperwork, bank transfer, cheque and purchase orders. Request a quote with your quantity, room type and mounting plan, and our team will confirm the replacement option and next steps.

Questions about 43UL3J

What is the LG 43UL3J designed for?

The LG 43UL3J is a 43-inch UHD signage display for lobbies, corridors, retail floors and waiting areas where content must be readable from several metres away. Its 3840 x 2160 IPS panel and 300 nit typical brightness keep text and images clear. With webOS 6.0 and network management, one team can update screens across several floors or branches in Doha or Lusail.

Has LG discontinued the 43UL3J?

Yes. LG has discontinued this model, so this page is written for organisations that already own it, buyers comparing it with newer displays and anyone who needs a replacement. Request a quote and SmartRooms Qatar will confirm availability and recommend a current equivalent or a compatible replacement. Your quotation will show the differences in panel size, connectivity and software so you can compare before buying.

Can it be installed in portrait orientation?

Yes, the panel supports both portrait and landscape use, which suits digital menus, totems and vertical wayfinding signs. In portrait mode the rated operating temperature drops to 0°C to 35°C, compared with 0°C to 40°C in landscape. Keep this difference in mind for a hot corridor or a semi-open entrance, and confirm the orientation during the free site survey before fixing the bracket.

Will it cope with Doha summer temperatures?

The rated operating range is 0°C to 40°C with 10% to 80% humidity, and Doha summer heat can pass 45°C. The 43UL3J should therefore sit indoors in an air-conditioned room, not in an unconditioned atrium, a loading bay or a spot that receives sun through glass. Ask the SmartRooms Qatar team to check room conditions during the site survey before you order.

Does it have built-in speakers?

Yes. The display has two built-in 10W speakers, so simple announcements, background audio and video soundtracks can run in many rooms without an external amplifier. An audio output is also available for connecting a larger sound system, which suits a big hall or a space where sound must reach an audience further away. Tell us the required volume level during planning.

Which ports does it offer for sources and networks?

The display has three HDMI inputs supporting HDCP 2.2 and 1.4, one RJ45 LAN input, RS232C input and output for control, two USB 2.0 Type A ports and an audio output. It has no HDMI output, DisplayPort, DVI-D or RGB input, and it has no daisy chain. Plan your source devices and control system around these ports before ordering.

Can staff share a laptop screen to it wirelessly?

The software list includes Screen Share, and the 43UL3J has built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, so it can take part in wireless sharing on the same network. The exact method depends on the laptop, the network policy and the meeting room layout. Tell us which devices your team uses so we can confirm the setup in the quotation rather than assume a particular app will work on your network.

Does it work with Crestron or Cisco systems?

Yes, the manufacturer's data lists Crestron Connected support and Cisco certification. In a government meeting room or a boardroom in Doha, that means the panel can sit inside a Crestron-controlled AV system or a Cisco video conferencing room. Your integrator should confirm the exact configuration, and SmartRooms Qatar can quote the display alongside cameras, codecs or control hardware.

How do we monitor and update several displays from one place?

The display supports SuperSign CMS, Wake on LAN, SNMP, Group Manager and remote monitoring over the network, so IT staff can check status and push content from one office. LG ConnectedCare is a separate optional cloud service for fault diagnosis and remote control, and it must be ordered on its own. For a multi-floor school or a mall with many screens, we set out the full arrangement in the quotation.

Can I add an OPS computer or use it as a touchscreen?

No on both counts. The 43UL3J has no OPS slot and does not accept an OPS module, and it is not a touch display, so there is no touch USB connection or overlay touch support. If your project needs an interactive screen, request a different model. For digital signage, pair this display with an external media player or a networked content source, and we will suggest the right combination in your quotation.

What wall mount and space does it need?

The VESA pattern is 200 x 200 mm, the monitor measures 967 x 564 x 57.1 mm, and the head weighs 8.8 kg or 10.9 kg packed. Use a wall bracket rated for that load and leave room for cable routing and ventilation. In a school corridor in Al Wakrah or a lobby near Hamad International Airport, check the wall structure, cable route and socket position before installation. A free site survey is available beforehand.

Is the power supply suitable for Qatar's 240 V mains?

The display has a built-in power supply rated for AC 100-240 V at 50/60 Hz, and that range covers Qatar's 240 V, 50 Hz supply. Typical consumption is 80W, maximum is 120W, and power-off draw is 0.5W. Ask your electrician to confirm that outlets are BS 1363 (Type G) sockets and that circuit capacity suits several units running together.
