What the LG 55EW5F-A is built to do

The LG 55EW5F-A is a 55-inch transparent OLED signage display from the EW5 series. Its 1,920 x 1,080 Full HD panel shows content while objects, products or spaces behind the glass stay visible. That combination suits retail frontages, showroom windows and lobby partitions where a conventional screen would block the view.

The panel uses self-lighting pixels, so colours stay vivid even when the screen is transparent. The front is tempered glass, and the manufacturer states the unit has a certified safety design built to withstand shock and vibration from its surroundings.

Transparency, brightness and what they mean on site

The panel has a typical transparency of 38%, which the manufacturer rates as higher than conventional LCD transparent displays. Because the background remains clearly visible, the best locations are those with a view worth looking at.

Typical brightness is 400 cd/m² at APL25% and 150 cd/m² at APL100%. APL is the average picture level, so a mostly white image looks dimmer than a dark one. Content with dark backgrounds and bright graphics suits the display best, and the ambient light of the room should be checked before choosing a position.

The built-in power supply is rated 100-240V~, 50/60Hz, so it accepts Qatar's 240 V, 50 Hz mains. Typical consumption is 309 W and maximum consumption is 318 W in the manufacturer's 8 colour bar test. The operating range is 0°C to 40°C at 10% to 80% humidity. Summer temperatures in Qatar often exceed 45°C, so the display should sit indoors in an air-conditioned space, away from direct sun. Listed certifications are CB and NRTL for safety, FCC Class A, CE and KC for EMC, and ErP compliance for the EU only.
