What the LG 75UM3E is built for

The LG 75UM3E is a 75-inch Ultra HD display designed for digital signage, the kind of screen that shows menus, wayfinding, promotions and information for long hours in one fixed location. Its 3,840 x 2,160 panel carries four times the pixels of a Full HD screen, so text and fine graphics stay crisp when people stand close. The IPS panel keeps colours consistent when viewers approach from the side, which matters in wide lobbies and concourses where audiences arrive from several directions.

With a typical brightness of 350 nits, the panel suits indoor areas with controlled lighting. It is not the right choice for a screen facing direct sunlight.

Content and scheduling without a separate PC

The webOS-based signage platform includes an embedded content management system. Staff can build content from internal and external sources, arrange playlists by time of day and run them directly on the display. Group Manager turns one master screen into a server for other displays on the same network, so a single playlist can reach a whole group at once. For sites spread across Qatar, Control Manager provides web-based monitoring of display status from any internet-connected device. The compatibility list names SuperSign CMS for content management and SuperSign Control+ or Control for monitoring.

Each of these settings is air-conditioned, which is the environment this model is rated for.

Planning the installation and what to do now

Plan the wall before the panel arrives. The head weighs 41.5 kg and the packed unit 49 kg, so the lift needs two people and the wall fixings should be checked. The VESA pattern is 600 x 400 mm, the monitor measures 1,682.4 x 960.3 x 57.9 mm without handle and logo, and the optional LSW640A/B wall mount is listed for this model. Power is built-in, with a supply range of 100 to 240 V at 50/60 Hz, drawing typically 160 W and at most 185 W. Operating temperature is 0°C to 40°C at 10% to 80% humidity, so keep it out of unconditioned courtyards and sun-exposed entrances, where Qatar summer temperatures can exceed 45°C. LG has discontinued the 75UM3E.
