86BH5F-M

A 58:9 panel for long, narrow spaces

The LG 86BH5F-M is an 86-inch stretched signage display with a 58:9 aspect ratio, making it more than six times wider than it is tall. Standard 16:9 screens often need to be stacked or cropped to suit a narrow wall above a doorway or along a corridor. This format runs as a single horizontal band, so content can use space that would otherwise sit unused.

The panel uses IPS technology with a direct backlight, a 3,840 x 600 pixel resolution, a 60Hz refresh rate and a 178° x 178° viewing angle, so people can read it from the side as well as from the front.

Where it fits across Qatar

In a shopping mall in West Bay or Lusail, a band about 2.16 metres wide above a main corridor entrance can carry promotions for several tenants at once, using the four-zone picture-by-picture mode so each brand has its own window. A hotel lobby in The Pearl or Msheireb can use it as a welcome and wayfinding strip above the reception desk, with one fixed zone for the day's events. On a campus in Education City, a band beside a lift lobby or along a concourse can show room numbers, timetables and announcements without taking up floor space.

Planning the installation

Confirm that the wall can carry the 20.5 kg head plus mounting hardware, and check the 600 x 200 mm VESA pattern against the bracket you choose. The packed weight is 38.2 kg, so plan safe handling on site. SmartRooms Qatar carries out free site surveys, which is the right moment to measure the wall, confirm cable routes and check that the location is air-conditioned.

The listed operating range is 0 °C to 40 °C, and Qatar summer temperatures can exceed 45 °C. This model belongs in air-conditioned indoor spaces rather than outdoor or unconditioned areas. The IP5X rating protects against dust, which helps in dusty conditions, but it does not change the temperature limit.

Connectivity and control

Three HDMI inputs, one DisplayPort input, a DVI-D input and two USB 2.0 Type A ports cover most source devices. A DisplayPort output lets you daisy-chain units, while RS232C, RJ45 and IR connections allow control from a central system. The panel has no HDMI output, no RGB input and no touch USB, so plan source devices around these ports. Built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are included, and the software supports local content scheduling, group management, fail-over and tile mode setup. Compatible management options include SuperSign Control+, SuperSign WB, Mobile CMS and the optional ConnectedCare cloud service.
