Overview

The Newline 98-inch STV is a non-touch 4K LCD display built for large rooms and public spaces. It offers 450 cd/m² brightness, a 4000:1 contrast ratio, a bezel of up to 1mm and Android 11 with wireless casting from Windows, Mac, Android and iPhone devices. Its 98-inch panel suits lecture halls, hotel foyers and mall concourses across Qatar, where a quotation and site survey should come before mounting its 74.0 kg weight.

What the 98-inch STV is built to do

The Newline 98" STV is a non-touch commercial display with a 98-inch LCD panel and 4K resolution of 3840 × 2160 pixels. It belongs to the STV Series, the first of Newline's Pro Series TVs, and it is aimed at classrooms, meeting rooms and public signage rather than hands-on whiteboard work. Its display area measures 2158 × 1214 mm, making it the largest option in the range.

Picture, brightness and the 1mm bezel

The panel is rated at 450 cd/m² brightness and a 4000:1 contrast ratio, with a 178° viewing angle, High Dynamic Range support, a 60 Hz refresh rate and a 6.5 ms response time. It is listed with 1.07 billion colours. The bezel is up to 1mm, so the frame stays slim against a very large picture, which matters when the screen dominates a room or lobby.

Display area: 2158 × 1214 mm
Standard power draw: 475 W; standby under 0.5 W
Speakers: 15 W × 2, rear-mounted
Weight: 74.0 kg; VESA pattern 500 × 400 mm

Connectivity, casting and USB content

Android 11 runs on a quad-core Cortex-A55 processor at 1.80 GHz, with 2 GB RAM, 16 GB storage, Wi-Fi 5.0 and Bluetooth. Newline Cast lets people share from Windows, Mac, Android and iPhone devices over the network. HDMI signal detection switches to an incoming source automatically, and Word, spreadsheet and document files can be opened straight from a USB flash drive. The remote control includes an air mouse function, so an operator can move the cursor, pick menu items and type without a separate keyboard. Newline VCS adds digital signage compatibility for broadcasting messages to the panel.

Where it fits in Qatar

Lecture halls and seminar rooms: a university lecture hall in Education City or a private school hall in Al Wakrah, where material must be readable from the back rows.
Hotel and serviced apartment lobbies: a lobby in West Bay or The Pearl showing event schedules, arrivals and directions, with content broadcast through Newline VCS.
Malls and retail concourses: a shopping centre in Doha running promotions and wayfinding for shoppers passing at varying distances.

What to plan before ordering

At 74.0 kg, the panel needs a wall or stand that can carry the load, and the mounting plan should be built around the 500 × 400 mm VESA pattern. The outline size of 2182 × 1247 × 111 mm excludes a wall mount, so measure the delivery route and the final position before ordering. SmartRooms Qatar provides a free site survey to check the wall, access and the nearest power outlet, and the 475 W standard power draw should be matched to the circuit during that survey. The data we hold does not include an operating temperature range for this model, so for sites with direct sunlight, window glare or high heat, confirm the environment with the SmartRooms Qatar team before installation.

Send us your room layout, mounting wall and the content you plan to show, and the SmartRooms Qatar team will return a quotation, usually within one working day. Schools and government buyers can issue a purchase order (LPO) or use Monaqasat tenders, and payment can be made by bank transfer, cheque or purchase order. Questions about 98" STV

What is the Newline 98" STV and who is it for?

The Newline 98" STV is a 98-inch commercial LCD display from the STV Series, with 4K resolution of 3840 × 2160 and a non-touch panel. It suits organisations that need a very large screen for lecture halls, hotel lobbies, shopping concourses and information displays rather than a touch-based whiteboard. Buyers who want staff to share screens from laptops and phones will also find its built-in wireless casting useful.

Is the 98-inch STV a touch screen?

No. The Newline 98" STV is a non-touch display, so users control it with its remote control or through the connected source computer. The remote has an air mouse function for moving a cursor, selecting menus and typing text. If your teaching or meeting plan depends on writing directly on the screen, confirm that requirement with the SmartRooms Qatar team before ordering.

How bright is the 98-inch STV and what contrast does it offer?

The display is rated at 450 cd/m² brightness and a 4000:1 contrast ratio, with a 178-degree viewing angle and High Dynamic Range support. These figures help people at the back of a large room see the same image clearly. For a lobby with windows, check where sunlight falls during the site survey, because the manufacturer data we hold does not describe any anti-glare treatment for this model.

Can a 74 kg panel be fitted in a reception area in Msheireb?

Yes, provided the wall or stand can carry the weight. The 98" STV weighs 74.0 kg, uses a 500 × 400 mm VESA mount pattern and measures 2182 × 1247 × 111 mm without a wall mount. Before delivery, SmartRooms Qatar offers a free site survey to check wall construction, access routes and the fixing plan for a reception area in Msheireb.

Would it suit a lecture hall at Education City?

Yes, for a lecture hall or seminar room where the screen is viewed from a distance. The 4K resolution and 178-degree viewing angle keep text and diagrams readable across rows of seats. During the site survey, check power, wall and cable routes and mounting height. Send us your seating plan with your quotation request so we can advise on the screen position.

Would it work in a hotel lobby in West Bay?

A large lobby is a good match for this size. Using Newline VCS digital signage compatibility, the hotel can broadcast arrivals, event schedules and wayfinding to the panel. Because the manufacturer data does not give an operating temperature range for this model, confirm the lobby's airflow and any window glare with the SmartRooms Qatar team before the installation is scheduled.

Can staff at a Doha office share content wirelessly from their laptops?

Yes. Newline Cast connects wirelessly to Windows, Mac, Android and iPhone devices, so staff can share content from their own laptops and phones in a meeting room. The STV runs Android 11 with 2 GB RAM and 16 GB storage, and it includes Wi-Fi 5.0 and Bluetooth. Test your network and the devices you will use before installation so casting works from the first day.

Can presenters open documents from a USB flash drive?

Yes. The display can open Word, spreadsheet and embedded document files directly from a USB flash drive, so a presenter does not need a laptop to show a simple document. HDMI signal detection also switches to a connected source automatically. In a school or public building that restricts USB use, agree a file policy before the display is handed over.

Can messages be scheduled for a mall or school from one place?

The 98" STV is listed as compatible with Newline VCS, a digital broadcast network that sends messages to the panel without a separate media player. This suits announcements in a mall concourse or notices in a school building. Confirm with our team which software items are included in your quotation, so you know what your administrators will be able to manage.

How much power does the 98-inch STV use?

The rated power consumption is 475 W in standard mode and under 0.5 W in standby. These figures help facilities teams plan circuits and estimate running costs for a large display in an air-conditioned building that operates year round. Actual consumption depends on content and settings, so confirm the nearest power outlet and circuit during the site survey.

What rear connections does the 98-inch STV have?

The Newline datasheet for the STV Series lists three HDMI 2.0 inputs that support 4K at 60 Hz, a LAN (RJ45) input, USB Type-A ports, an AV input, an S/PDIF output and a 3.5 mm audio output. The 98-inch model uses 15 W x 2 speakers positioned at the rear. Ask the SmartRooms Qatar team to confirm the exact port layout for this model before you plan cabling.

Is it covered by warranty, and how can a government buyer order it?

The 98" STV is covered by the manufacturer's warranty. Warranty terms are not in the manufacturer data for this model, so we confirm them in writing with your quotation. Government buyers can issue a purchase order (LPO) or submit through Monaqasat tenders, and payment can be made by bank transfer, cheque or purchase order.
