A 32:9 stretched panel for wide, narrow walls

The Philips 37BDL3150S/00 is a 37-inch stretched display built around a 32:9 aspect ratio and a 1920 x 540 panel. Instead of a tall screen, you get a long, low one that suits content meant to be read across a wall, such as wayfinding strips, departure-style information boards, rolling news and welcome messages. Its IPS panel is rated at 700 cd/m² and has a 178-degree viewing angle both horizontally and vertically, so people approaching from the side can still read it.

Where it fits in Qatar

In Doha, a 37-inch stretched panel suits a corridor or lift lobby in an office tower in West Bay or Msheireb, where a long, narrow wall is hard to fill with a standard screen. A private school in Al Wakrah fitting out a new corridor could use it for timetables, announcements and student work in English and Arabic, since its on-screen menu supports Arabic. Shopping centres in Lusail often need internal feature walls, and this panel fits a narrow strip above a seating area. Qatar summers regularly exceed 45 °C, so keep it in an air-conditioned space, as its operating range is 0 to 40 °C.

What to plan before installation

The set measures 919.1 mm wide, 285.1 mm high and 47.4 mm deep, and weighs 7.57 kg. The wall mount pattern is 400 mm x 200 mm with M6 fixings, and two wall mount bolts and alignment plates are included. Check the wall construction and load capacity, and plan the cable route before ordering. SmartRooms Qatar offers free site surveys before installation. For several units in one building, a purchase order (LPO) can cover the whole set, and the HDMI loop-through and RS232 daisy chain reduce the number of separate feeds needed across the wall.

Questions about 37BDL3150S/00

Where does a 37-inch stretched display work best in a Qatari office or school?

It suits content that runs horizontally along a wall, such as wayfinding strips, live information boards, rolling announcements and product displays. With a 32:9 aspect ratio, 1920 x 540 resolution and 700 cd/m² brightness, it works well in office lobbies, school corridors and shopping malls. Its 178-degree viewing angles help people read it while walking past at an angle.

Can I install it in an outdoor or unconditioned walkway during Qatar summers?

No, that is not recommended. The operating range is 0 to 40 °C with 20 to 80% humidity and no condensation, while Qatar summer temperatures can exceed 45 °C. Install it in an air-conditioned lobby, corridor or office, and review any position facing windows with the SmartRooms Qatar team before ordering. The storage range is -20 to 60 °C.

Can it show portrait content as well as landscape?

Yes. The specifications list both landscape and portrait placement for 24/7 operation. Portrait orientation can suit a narrow column or a tall section of wall, provided your mounting plan allows it. Confirm the orientation for your exact position with the SmartRooms Qatar team before marking the wall, so the fixings line up correctly.

Do I need a separate media player for this panel?

The panel includes an internal Android 13 player with a quad-core Cortex A55 processor, 4 GB DDR4 memory and 32 GB eMMC storage. For one screen showing standard content, the internal player handles playback. Compare your content requirements, such as large video files or heavy applications, against these specifications before deciding.

How do I link several panels along one school corridor?

Use the RS232 daisy chain cable included in the box, together with the HDMI output and the HDMI and IR loop-through connections. Each panel can pass the signal on to the next, which reduces the number of source feeds you need. Network control is available through the RJ45 LAN port. Ask your installer to confirm the layout before you place the order.

Which video inputs and ports does it have?

It has one HDMI 2.0 input, one VGA (analogue D-Sub) input and one HDMI 2.0 output. Audio uses 3.5 mm jacks for input and output. It also has USB 2.0, USB 3.0, micro USB and a Micro SD slot. Control connections include RJ45, RS232C with a 2.5 mm jack, and IR with a 3.5 mm jack, both in and out. Plan your source devices around these ports.

Does it include Wi-Fi or Bluetooth?

Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are listed as optional accessories rather than standard features: the CRD32 Wi-Fi 6 module and a Bluetooth 5.2 module. If you need wireless content updates or Bluetooth connectivity, mention it in your quotation request so the configuration is confirmed. Otherwise, the wired LAN connection on the RJ45 port covers network control.

Does the on-screen menu support Arabic?

Yes. The on-screen display languages include Arabic, alongside English, French, German and many others. For offices and schools in Qatar that work in Arabic and English side by side, staff can set up the panel in the language they prefer. The list also includes Turkish, Russian and both Simplified and Traditional Chinese.

How much power does it use, and will it run on Qatar's 240 V supply?

It is rated at 26 W under the EEI Lot5 test, with standby consumption below 0.5 W and an Energy Label Class F. The mains input is 100 to 240 VAC at 50 to 60 Hz, which covers Qatar's 240 V, 50 Hz supply. Check the socket type with your electrician, because the data specifies only the included AC power cord, not a plug standard.

What is included in the box?

The package includes a remote control with AAA batteries, a 1.8 m IR sensor cable, an RS232 daisy chain cable, an RS232 cable, an AC power cord, two wall mount bolts, alignment plates, an AC switch cover, a Philips logo and a quick start guide. Check the contents when the panels arrive, and count the cables before installation so any missing item is raised early.

How much wall space and load capacity should I plan for in a corridor?

The set measures 919.1 mm wide, 285.1 mm high and 47.4 mm deep, and weighs 7.57 kg. The wall mount pattern is 400 mm x 200 mm with M6 fixings. Confirm the wall can carry the load, and arrange a free site survey with SmartRooms Qatar before fixing, especially where the panel must align with neighbouring units or existing signage.

Is there a warranty, and can a government entity buy it through a tender?

The product carries a 3-year manufacturer warranty. SmartRooms Qatar supplies against purchase orders (LPOs) and handles government tenders, including Monaqasat. Quotations usually arrive within one working day, and payment can be made by bank transfer, cheque or purchase order. When you request a quote, send the quantity, the mounting location and the tender reference.
