QB13R

What the QB13R is built for

The Samsung QB13R is a 13-inch small-format display for signage placed close to people: wayfinding beside a lift, a queue board at a service counter, a menu screen in a café or a notice panel in a school corridor. It is a single compact unit that combines a Full HD panel with a built-in player, so content can run without a separate media box sitting in a cabinet.

Panel facts that affect readability

The 1920 x 1080 resolution and 0.153 mm pixel pitch keep small text and fine logos sharp at close reading distance. The panel is rated at 300 typical brightness, with an 800:1 static contrast ratio and a 10,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. A 25% glass haze rating and a non-glare panel help limit reflections from windows and ceiling lights. Viewing angles of 178 degrees horizontally and vertically keep the content readable for people approaching from the side, and an 8ms response time handles moving video.

Two environmental limits matter for the Qatar climate. The rated operating range is 0 to 40°C with 10 to 80% humidity, non-condensing. The IP5x dust rating helps in dusty conditions, but the manufacturer notes that operation is not guaranteed in some dust types, such as metal dust.

Playback, connectivity and control

An embedded MagicInfo S player runs on the TIZEN platform, so the QB13R plays content directly from the display. Connections include:

• One HDMI input for a media source such as a PC or set-top box
• One USB port and one RJ45 LAN input for network-connected management
• One RS232 control input and built-in Wi-Fi for wireless content and display management
• A stereo mini jack audio output

There is no DisplayPort input, audio input, HDBaseT input or external memory slot. The Knox security system adds layered protection and can restrict remote access to the network and USB ports, which helps protect the display from unauthorised changes.

Where it fits in Qatar

Three realistic settings suit this model. A private school in Al Wakrah could place one unit beside a reception desk to show announcements and timetables. A clinic in Msheireb could use a waiting-area screen for queue numbers and health information. A serviced apartment or hotel lobby in West Bay could show arrival information and local directions, with the screen kept in an air-conditioned lobby away from direct sun.

Planning the installation

The set measures 322 x 193.5 x 28.2 mm and weighs 0.9 kg, with a 12.2 mm bezel. Two simple stands are included for tabletop or counter use. The wall mount is not included in the source data, so wall brackets are quoted separately. The 100 x 100 mm VESA pattern gives a standard fixing point, and the wall should be checked during a free site survey before fixings are chosen.

Power is AC 100 to 240V at 50/60Hz, which covers Qatar's 240 V, 50 Hz supply. Typical consumption is 27.5 W in on mode and 0.5 W in sleep mode. Plan a socket at each mounting point and a network point where remote management is needed. Installation is professional, and SmartRooms Qatar delivers to all 8 municipalities. Delivery timing is an estimate confirmed with your quotation, based on stock.

For a single screen or a batch of units, send your quantities, mounting locations and network details with your request, and SmartRooms Qatar will return a quotation, usually within one working day.
