QB43C

A slim 43-inch 4K display for shared spaces

The Samsung QB43C is a 43-inch signage display from the Crystal UHD Signage QBC series. It uses a VA panel at 3,840 x 2,160 resolution with a 0.245 mm pixel pitch, so text, menus and fine graphics stay sharp at close range. Rated for 16/7 operation, it suits screens that run through the working day in reception areas, corridors and waiting rooms.

Depth, bezel and mounting for tight walls

At 969.5 x 557.8 x 28.5 mm and 8.8 kg, the QB43C has a slim body that keeps the walkway clear in narrow corridors. The 11.5 mm bezel is even on all four sides, so the image still looks balanced when the screen is turned to portrait orientation. The 200 x 200 mm VESA holes sit at the centre of the back, which spreads the weight evenly and reduces tilting when the panel is rotated. Samsung lists the WMN-B50SC wall mount and the STN-L4355C stand as optional accessories, and both can be added to your quotation.

Picture performance and connections

Typical brightness is 350 nit, with a 4,000:1 contrast ratio, 178/178 degree viewing angles and an 8 ms response time. The colour gamut is rated at 72% NTSC, and a dynamic contrast setting is listed as Mega. For sources and control, the set has three HDMI inputs (HDMI version 2 with HDCP 2.2), two USB ports, an RJ45 network connection, RS232 in and out, an IR input and a stereo mini-jack audio output. It has no DisplayPort and no audio input, so check your media player's output before ordering.

Smart Calibration, available through the Samsung mobile app, helps match colours across several screens, which is useful when a branded set of displays must look consistent. The manufacturer also reports ENERGY STAR 8.0 and EPEAT certifications for the QBC series.

Where it fits in Qatar

In an office tower in West Bay, a pair of QB43C panels beside the lift lobbies can show visitor directions, meeting-room bookings and building notices. A university building in Education City could use one in a corridor for event listings and timetables, where the slim depth keeps the walkway clear. A serviced apartment building in Lusail could place one at check-in to show local information and amenity times. In each case the screen must sit in an air-conditioned space. Its operating range is 0°C to 40°C, and summer temperatures in Qatar can exceed 45°C, so outdoor canopies, sunlit glass frontages and unconditioned service areas are not suitable.

What to plan before you order

• Environment: operating range 0°C to 40°C and 10 to 80% humidity, non-condensing. Confirm the room is air-conditioned and out of direct sunlight.
• Wall and mounting: check the wall construction for 8.8 kg plus the mount. A free site survey from SmartRooms Qatar covers this before installation.
• Power: rated at 100 to 240 V, 50/60 Hz, a range that includes Qatar's 240 V, 50 Hz supply. Draws 121 W on and 0.5 W in sleep mode.
• Management: Samsung VXT CMS is sold separately. Decide early whether screens are managed centrally or locally.
• Connectivity: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and an RJ45 port are built in. Choose the connection that suits each location before cabling.
