QB98C

A 98-inch 4K display for rooms that need a large, clear screen

The Samsung QB98C is a 98-inch UHD signage display with a 3840 x 2160 resolution on a VA panel. It is designed for long-running content in boardrooms, lobbies, lecture halls and retail areas, where one large image must be readable from across the room. The model is also listed under the code LH98QBCEBGCXUE.

Picture figures that matter in bright rooms

The panel is rated at 350 nit typical brightness with a 4,500:1 contrast ratio, and covers 72% of NTSC colour space. Viewing angles are specified at 178 degrees horizontal and vertical, so people seated at the sides of a meeting room still see the same image. Glass haze is listed at 2%. The manufacturer also quotes one billion shades of colour. The Quantum Processor Lite 4K upscaling raises lower-resolution sources toward UHD quality, which helps when older media players or legacy presentations feed the screen.

Connectivity and control for managed sites

• Video: three HDMI inputs (HDMI version 2, HDCP 2.2) and one DisplayPort 1.2 input
• Control: RS232 in and out, IR in and an RJ45 network input
• Wireless and other: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, two USB ports and a stereo mini-jack audio output

The set has no dedicated audio input, so plan the sound route with your installer before ordering. A hotel lobby in West Bay, for example, may need its music or announcements fed through a separate audio device, while a corporate reception can run screens from a single network-connected source.

Planning the wall, power and environment

At 56.3 kg and 48.1 mm deep, the panel needs a wall that can carry its weight on a 600 x 400 mm VESA pattern. A site survey before ordering confirms wall structure, cable routes and the location of power outlets. The set accepts 100 to 240 V at 50/60 Hz, draws 290 W in on mode and 0.5 W in sleep mode. Its operating range is 0 to 40 °C with 10 to 80% humidity, non-condensing. Qatar summers can exceed 45 °C, so place the display in an air-conditioned room away from direct sun and window glare, and confirm the room conditions with the SmartRooms Qatar team before installation. The WMN-8200SC mount is listed as an optional feature, so include it in your quote if you need it.

Software, certifications and the quote

The set runs Tizen 7.0 and has 16GB of flash memory. Samsung VXT, a cloud-based content and remote device management service, must be purchased separately. The QB98C carries ENERGY STAR 8.0 and EPEAT certifications, EMC Class A and safety standards 62368-1 and 60950-1. Ministries and public bodies can order by LPO or through Monaqasat tenders, and we deliver to all eight municipalities of Qatar.
