What the QM55N is and what it is built to do

The Samsung QM55N is a 55-inch UHD 4K display from the 2018 QMN Series, designed for signage rather than interactive use. It is intended to run looping messages, wayfinding, timetables and promotions for long periods. Its embedded MagicINFO S6 player runs on Tizen OS, so basic playlist playback can be handled from the screen itself without a separate media PC. The 3,840 x 2,160 panel provides four times the pixels of a 1080p screen, which keeps small text on schedules, menus and directories sharp at close range.

Two HDMI inputs (HDMI 2.0), one DisplayPort input (DP 1.2) and one DVI input cover most media players and laptops. Two USB ports, an IR input, RS232 input and output, and a wired RJ45 network input support remote control and monitoring. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are also built in. For walls, the QM55N supports MagicINFO daisy chain video wall configurations up to 2x2 through the HDMI 2.0 port. Bezels measure 10.5 mm at the top and sides and 11.8 mm at the bottom, so seams stay narrow in a 2x2 array.
