QM98N

What the QM98N delivers on a 98-inch panel

The QM98N belongs to the QMN Series and uses a slim direct LED panel with a native 3,840 x 2,160 UHD resolution. It carries a typical brightness rating of 500, a 4,000:1 contrast ratio, a 6ms typical response time and 178/178 degree viewing angles, so text, menus and product imagery stay readable from the side of a room. The colour gamut is rated at 72%, which suits corporate branding and informational content more than colour-critical graphic work.

The set includes Intelligent Picture Quality processing, which the manufacturer describes as improving the edges of text and fine detail across different content sources.

Inputs, outputs and video wall planning

The panel offers two HDMI 2.0 inputs, one DVI input, one DisplayPort 1.2 input, two USB ports, an audio input, a stereo mini-jack audio output and a video output. Control is available through RS232 in and out, an IR input and an RJ45 LAN input, with built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. There is no HDBaseT input and no LAN pass-through output, so plan long cable runs and daisy-chain wiring before ordering cabling.

For video walls, the QM98N supports MagicINFO daisy-chain configurations, and the HDMI 2.0 port can build UHD daisy chains up to 2x2. The 15.2 mm bezel keeps seams narrow when several units are tiled together. The final layout should be confirmed by a site survey before installation.

Embedded player and remote management

The embedded MagicINFO S6 player runs on Tizen OS, so content can be scheduled and played from the display itself without a separate media PC. Content and devices can be managed remotely, and the KNOX security platform controls USB and network exchange through signage device management. For organisations that run meetings without a computer attached to the screen, this reduces the number of devices that must be secured and maintained.

Where it fits in Qatar and what to plan for

In Doha, a screen this size suits a bank branch in West Bay or a hotel lobby in The Pearl, where visitors need arrival and wayfinding information from a distance. In a private school in Al Rayyan, the same panel can sit in a hall or break-out area showing timetables and announcements, while its input options let staff connect laptops and presentation sources.

Operating temperature is rated from 0 to 40 degrees Celsius with 10 to 80% non-condensing humidity. Summer temperatures in Qatar can exceed 45 degrees Celsius outside, so install this model in an air-conditioned indoor space with airflow around the set. Avoid positions exposed to direct sun through glass or to open entrances where dust storms reach, unless the SmartRooms Qatar team has reviewed the location.

The set measures 2194.2 x 1249.8 x 75.3 mm and uses a 900 x 600 mm VESA pattern. The packed size is considerably larger, so check doorways, lift dimensions and access routes before delivery. An optional WMN9500SD mount is listed for this model, and because the screen is large, a site survey to confirm wall structure before wall mounting is strongly advisable. Power draw is 528 W in on mode and 0.5 W in sleep mode, with a power supply rated for 100 to 240 V at 50/60 Hz, which covers Qatar's 240 V supply.

SmartRooms Qatar supplies the QM98N with delivery to all eight municipalities of Qatar, professional installation and free site surveys. Quotations are usually issued within one working day, and we accept purchase orders and government tenders. Request a quote with your room dimensions, mounting plan and cable routes, and our team will confirm the right configuration.
