Overview

The Samsung SH37R-B is a 37-inch stretched display with a 1,920 x 540 panel, built for long, narrow spaces such as corridor walls, lift lobbies, counters and retail shelves. It offers 700 nit typical brightness, a 4,000:1 contrast ratio and 24/7 operation rated for 0 to 40°C. With HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort 1.2, RS232, RJ45 and Wi-Fi, it suits offices, malls and hospitals in Doha that need slim signage.

A 37-inch stretched panel for long, narrow spaces

The Samsung SH37R-B belongs to the SHR-B stretched display series and uses a 16:4.5 wide screen format. The set measures 923.3 x 277.6 x 44.8 mm, so it can carry a banner-style message across a wall that a conventional display would crowd. Facilities teams use this shape for wayfinding strips, queue numbers, announcements above doors and product messages on narrow shelving.

Panel facts that matter for a buyer

The VA panel delivers a 1,920 x 540 resolution with a pixel pitch of 0.47 x 0.47 mm. Typical brightness is 700 nit, the contrast ratio is rated at 4,000:1, and viewing angles are 178 degrees horizontal and vertical. The response time is 6.5 ms. These figures suit corridors and lobbies where people approach from several directions.

Bezel: 9.8 mm top and bottom, 7.9 mm left and right, with a non-glossy frame.
Connectivity: two HDMI 2.0 inputs, one DisplayPort 1.2 input, RS232 in and out, RJ45, an IR input and Wi-Fi.
Power: 70 W in on mode and 0.5 W in sleep mode, on AC 100-240 V at 50/60 Hz.
Environment: operating temperature 0 to 40 °C, humidity 10 to 80 percent, non-condensing.

Where it fits in Qatar

A hospital in Doha could mount one above a clinic corridor to show department directions and waiting-time updates without taking floor space. In an office tower in West Bay, a narrow panel beside the lift lobby can carry tenant directories and visitor instructions. A shopping mall in The Pearl might place one above a store entrance, where the 24/7 operating rating suits long opening hours, provided the location is air-conditioned.

What to plan before installation

At 6.3 kg the set is light, but the package weighs 8.8 kg and measures 1112 x 363 x 122 mm, so check delivery access and storage. The panel uses a VESA 400 x 200 mm mounting pattern, and the datasheet lists no optional mount or stand, so confirm the bracket and wall structure before ordering. Its operating range tops out at 40 °C, and Qatar summer temperatures can exceed 45 °C outdoors, so install it in an air-conditioned space with clear ventilation. The datasheet also describes daisy chain support for UHD content across several units, so confirm the chain layout during planning.

Questions about SH37R-B

What is the Samsung SH37R-B used for?

The SH37R-B is a 37-inch stretched display with a 16:4.5 wide screen, made for long, narrow locations where a standard landscape screen would not fit. A hospital in Doha could use this shape above clinic corridors for department directions, while an office tower in West Bay could use it beside lift lobbies for visitor information. Its 44.8 mm set depth keeps it close to the wall.

What resolution and pixel pitch does the panel have?

The panel resolves 1,920 x 540 pixels across its stretched format, with a pixel pitch of 0.47 x 0.47 mm. That pitch helps short text stay readable at close range, such as queue numbers or room names beside a door. Viewing angles are rated at 178 degrees horizontally and vertically, so people approaching from the side can still read the content.

Is 700 nit brightness enough for a lobby with windows in Doha?

The datasheet lists 700 nit typical brightness, which suits indoor areas with ordinary artificial light and lobbies away from windows. A position facing a window or receiving direct sun needs a site review, because the data does not cover outdoor use or direct sunlight. Ask SmartRooms Qatar to check wall orientation and glare during the free site survey before you choose a spot.

Can it run around the clock in Qatar's summer heat?

The panel is rated for 24/7 operation, with an operating temperature of 0 to 40 °C and humidity of 10 to 80 percent, non-condensing. Qatar summer temperatures can exceed 45 °C outdoors, so install it in an air-conditioned space with clear ventilation around the set and away from direct sun. Confirm the exact site conditions with the SmartRooms Qatar team before installation.

Which inputs and outputs does it have?

Inputs include two HDMI 2.0 ports, one DisplayPort 1.2 input, one USB port, RS232 in and out, RJ45, an IR input and Wi-Fi. The set also has a video output and a stereo mini-jack audio output. The datasheet does not list an audio input, so plan external audio sources accordingly. Confirm cable routing and control method with the team when you request a quote.

Does it support UHD content and daisy chaining?

The manufacturer describes UHD streaming support and daisy chain capability, which allows UHD content to be spread across several units. The panel's native resolution is 1,920 x 540, so plan artwork for that stretched format. The datasheet does not state a maximum chain length, so ask SmartRooms Qatar to confirm the number of units and cabling for your layout.

Can the display be used in portrait orientation?

Yes, the datasheet describes a pivoting capability together with image rotation software that changes orientation from portrait to landscape. This lets one display serve a narrow corridor in portrait or a wide wall in landscape without rotating artwork in an editor. Check that the wall bracket supports the pivot before ordering, since the datasheet lists no optional mount or stand.

Is a wall mount or stand included?

The datasheet lists no optional mount or stand for the SH37R-B, so the bracket must be planned separately. The set uses a VESA 400 x 200 mm mounting pattern and weighs 6.3 kg, while the package weighs 8.8 kg. Before fixing to a plasterboard partition or a column in a Lusail tower, a free site survey confirms the fixing method and load.

What are the dimensions and how much space is needed?

The set measures 923.3 x 277.6 x 44.8 mm (width, height, depth) and weighs 6.3 kg. The package measures 1112 x 363 x 122 mm and weighs 8.8 kg, so check the delivery route, lift access and storage area. Measure the wall space above a reception counter or along a corridor, leaving room for cable routing and ventilation behind the set.

How much power does it draw and what supply does it need?

The set draws 70 W in on mode and 0.5 W in sleep mode, and it is rated for AC 100-240 V at 50/60 Hz. That range includes Qatar's 240 V, 50 Hz supply. The energy efficiency class is B. These figures help facilities teams plan circuit loads when several units are installed.

We are a school in Al Wakrah fitting out new corridors. Is this suitable?

The SH37R-B suits corridors and lobbies that need a wide, short message, such as class timetables, event notices or directions to a hall. Its 37-inch size and 44.8 mm depth fit a narrow wall without a bulky frame. For several units, send an LPO that states the quantity and locations and request a quote; SmartRooms Qatar usually issues quotations within one working day.

How do I buy and get it installed in Qatar?

SmartRooms Qatar supplies the SH37R-B and delivers to all eight municipalities of Qatar, with professional installation available. A free site survey comes before installation so wall, power and cable routes are confirmed. Government buyers can work through tenders, including Monaqasat, and payment by bank transfer, cheque or purchase order is accepted. The unit is covered by the manufacturer's warranty.
