PN-E559

What the Sharp PN-E559 is built to do

The Sharp PN-E559 is a 55-inch display from the MultiSync E Series, made for organisations that need a screen more capable than a consumer television but do not need a flagship model. The 16:9 IPS panel has a native 3840 x 2160 resolution and direct LED backlighting. Its active area measures 1,210 x 680 mm with a 0.315 mm pixel pitch, which keeps text and fine graphics sharp at normal viewing distances.

Readability near windows and in bright rooms

Glare is the usual complaint when a screen sits near a window or under strong ceiling light. This model uses a matte, high-haze surface rated Pro (25), which diffuses reflections instead of mirroring them. Brightness is 350 cd/m² with 1,200:1 typical contrast, and the 178 degree horizontal and vertical viewing angles let people seated to the side read the same slide. The 8 ms typical grey-to-grey response time and 60 Hz refresh rate suit presentations and moving signage content.

Signage from a USB drive, without a separate player

The built-in USB media player runs UHD content from a USB drive and starts automatically when the display powers on. A scheduler lets you change content at set times of day. The player accepts JPG images and MP4, TS and WMV video files, and MP4 and TS files can run at up to 3840 x 2160 at 60 Hz. USB storage must be formatted as FAT16 or FAT32. For a school corridor or a clinic waiting area, a looping playlist of announcements or wayfinding can run without a computer left switched on beside the screen.

Connections, control and integration

• Two HDMI inputs with UHD at 60 Hz and HDCP 2.2, plus ARC and CEC on HDMI IN 1
• USB-C input rated at 15 W, carrying video, DisplayPort Alt Mode 1.2 and audio
• USB-A port rated at 4.5 W for peripherals or USB storage
• LAN at 100 Mbit/s and RS-232C at 9600 bps for network and control links
• Integrated 2 x 10 W speakers and a 3.5 mm audio output

Remote management is handled through NaViSet Administrator 2, and the product lists a Q-Sys plug-in among its third-party certifications.

Where it fits across Qatar

A 55-inch screen suits a huddle room or small meeting room in an office in West Bay or Msheireb, where a larger panel would overpower the space. A laptop can connect by HDMI or USB-C, and staff can join calls with colleagues abroad using the room's conferencing setup. In Al Wakrah, a private school can mount one in a corridor to show timetables and events. In an Al Sadd clinic, the reception wall can carry health information and directions. Each of these is an indoor, air-conditioned space.

Planning the mounting and power

The unit measures 1,234 x 707 x 58.9 mm and weighs 12 kg, so the wall must carry that load. The VESA pattern is 400 x 200 mm with four M6 holes, and wall mount models PDW S 32-65 L and PDW S 32-65 P are listed as options. Operating temperature is 0 to +40°C with 20 to 80% humidity, so keep it out of direct sun and unconditioned spaces. Typical consumption is 100 W, standby is below 0.5 W, and the internal supply accepts 100-240 V AC at 50/60 Hz. Free site surveys are available before wall mounting.
