PN-ME652

What the PN-ME652 is designed for

The Sharp PN-ME652 is a 65-inch display with a native 3840 x 2160 panel, IPS technology and direct LED backlighting. It belongs to the second-generation ME range and is meant for organisations that want one screen to carry both digital signage and internal meetings. A built-in system-on-chip runs Android 13, so the screen can play signage content on its own and a separate media player is not needed.

Picture quality and readability in bright rooms

The panel is rated at 450 cd/m² with a typical contrast ratio of 1200:1. It supports HLG and PQ HDR formats, with a typical 8 ms grey-to-grey response and a 60 Hz panel refresh rate. The haze level is rated Pro (25), which reduces reflections from windows and ceiling fittings, and this matters in rooms with glass frontages where direct light can wash out text and graphics. Viewing angles are rated at 178 degrees both horizontally and vertically at a 10:1 contrast ratio.

Connections, signage software and control

The inputs suit a mix of laptops, media players and control systems:

• USB-C input for UHD 60 Hz video, DisplayPort Alt Mode 1.4, HDCP 2.2, audio, USB 2.0 or 3.0 data and a powered 15 W USB port
• Three HDMI inputs, with HDMI IN 3 supporting ARC, all with HDCP 2.2 and CEC
• Three USB-A ports for peripherals and USB storage
• 100 Mbit/s LAN, RS-232C at 9600 bps and a 3.5 mm IR extender input

Input detection can be set to custom, last or first source, so meeting staff get a predictable result when they connect a device. The Android 13 platform has 4GB RAM and 32GB internal storage, plus a file manager and web browser. The media player reads MP4 and MKV files with H.264 or HEVC video up to 4096 x 2160 at 60 fps. Facilities teams can manage the screen through NaViSet Administrator 2, which can send automated email alerts, and physical buttons and IR control can be disabled in public areas. Certifications are listed for Cisco Collaboration Devices, Crestron CCV2 and XiO Cloud, and a Q-Sys plug-in.

Where it fits in Qatar and what to plan for

• A clinic or hospital waiting area in Al Sadd showing queue information and health messages to patients and visitors.
• A serviced apartment or hotel reception in West Bay, where the screen shows welcome and event information in landscape or portrait.
• A training centre in Education City with a compact meeting room, where staff connect laptops by USB-C and the screen works with compatible video conference systems.

The panel measures 1,463.3 x 838.2 x 68 mm and weighs 23.9 kg. It uses a 600 x 400 mm VESA pattern with four M8 holes, so the wall and bracket should be checked before fixing. A free site survey is the simplest way to confirm wall type and cable routes. The operating range is 0 to +40 °C with 20 to 80 percent humidity, so avoid spots where summer sun through glass or dusty entrances could push the room beyond those limits, and confirm conditions with the SmartRooms Qatar team first. The internal power supply accepts 100-240 V AC, with typical consumption of 140 W. The warranty covers three years including the backlight, with an optional fourth and fifth year extension. SmartRooms Qatar supplies the display, delivers to all eight municipalities, offers professional installation and accepts purchase orders and government tenders.
