Overview

The Sony FW-43EZ20L is a 43-inch professional display built for digital signage and corporate rooms, with a 3840 x 2160 IPS panel, 350 cd/m² brightness and a rating for 16/7 operation. It has three side-mounted HDMI inputs, built-in Wi-Fi, Apple AirPlay and Chromecast, and IP or RS-232C control. It suits offices, retail entrances and schools across Doha that need a networked screen.

A 43-inch 4K display built for long operating hours

The FW-43EZ20L is a 43-inch professional display from Sony's Pro BRAVIA EZ20L series. It uses a 3840 x 2160 IPS LCD panel with direct LED backlighting and is rated for 16/7 operation, so it suits screens that run through the working day in lobbies, corridors and waiting areas rather than occasional presentations. At 9.3 kg without its stand and 70 mm deep, it is planned as a wall or bracket mounted screen, with a 200 x 200 mm VESA pattern.

Picture and brightness facts that matter indoors

The panel is rated at 350 cd/m² brightness, which the manufacturer positions for indoor environments, with a contrast ratio of 1,200:1 and a 178-degree viewing angle both horizontally and vertically. People standing beside a reception desk or at the edge of a training room can still see the picture clearly. The 4K X-Reality PRO processor upscales lower-resolution content, and Motionflow XR 200/240Hz (native 50/60Hz) handles fast-moving images. HDR10 and HLG compatibility and a 75% DCI-P3 colour gamut complete the picture specification.

Resolution: 3840 x 2160 (4K UHD)
Brightness: 350 cd/m²
Operation: rated 16/7
Colour gamut: 75% DCI-P3

Networked control and built-in signage playback

Three HDMI inputs, two USB ports and one Ethernet connection are side mounted, so they stay accessible when the panel is in portrait position. The unit runs Android TV and includes integrated Wi-Fi, with Apple AirPlay and Chromecast Built-In for sharing content from handheld devices. Pro Mode (Simplified) provides on/off timers, input selection at switch-on and wake-up when a signal is detected. Remote control is possible over IP networks or RS-232C, with HDMI-CEC support for linked devices.

The BRAVIA Signage Free 2.0 app plays HTML5 content, video and photos from 16GB of internal storage or from a USB drive, which removes the need for a separate set-top box, media player or PC for supported content.

Where the FW-43EZ20L fits across Qatar

The 43-inch size suits spaces where the screen is viewed from a few metres away. Three typical settings:

Retail entrance in Msheireb or Al Sadd: a portrait loop for promotions, switched on and off by timer to match opening hours.
Corporate reception in Lusail: a landscape screen for visitor information, managed over the office network by the facilities team.
Private school corridor in Al Wakrah: wayfinding and announcements in a corridor or small breakout room, where its 10W + 10W down-firing speakers are adequate for announcements.

The speakers suit small rooms better than large halls, so larger venues will need separate audio.

What to plan before you order

The source data for this model does not list an operating temperature range, so confirm the exact location before ordering. Lobbies with glass frontages, areas near windows and outdoor-facing positions in Qatar face summer temperatures above 45°C and dust storms, and the SmartRooms Qatar team will review the location with you. A free site survey is also useful for checking wall structure and bracket type, because the panel weighs 9.3 kg without stand.

Plan cable routing to the side connections and agree network settings with your IT team before installation, so Ethernet, Wi-Fi and IP control are configured from day one. If the purchase runs through an LPO or government tender, confirm the number of units and their locations at the start so the quotation covers every site.

Send your room layout, intended content and mounting plan to SmartRooms Qatar and request a quote. Quotations are usually provided within one working day, and we deliver across all eight municipalities of Qatar with professional installation.

Questions about FW-43EZ20L

What is the Sony FW-43EZ20L used for?

The FW-43EZ20L is a 43-inch professional display for digital signage and corporate rooms. It is rated for 16/7 operation and has a 3840 x 2160 resolution, so it suits reception screens, wayfinding loops and meeting room displays in offices, clinics and schools across Qatar where a screen must run through the working day.

Is the FW-43EZ20L rated for continuous use?

Yes. The manufacturer data rates it for 16/7 operation, meaning sixteen hours a day, seven days a week. That fits a Doha reception area open from early morning until late evening. The data does not list an operating temperature range for this model, so confirm the intended room environment with SmartRooms Qatar before ordering.

Is 350 cd/m² brightness enough for a lobby with glass walls?

The panel is rated at 350 cd/m² and the data positions it for indoor environments. In a lobby with a large glass frontage in West Bay, check direct sun exposure during the site survey and place the screen away from direct sunlight where possible, so the content remains easy to read through the working day.

Does it support 4K content and HDR?

Yes. The resolution is 3840 x 2160 with HDR10 and HLG compatibility, and the 4K X-Reality PRO processor upscales lower-resolution content. The viewing angle is 178 degrees horizontally and vertically, so staff and visitors standing at the sides of a room still see the picture clearly.

Can it be mounted in portrait orientation?

Yes. The data lists portrait and tilt compatibility, and the side connections are easier to reach in portrait position. The screen has a 200 x 200 mm VESA pattern and ships without a stand. Portrait mounting suits wayfinding corridors or menu boards at restaurant entrances in areas such as The Pearl.

Can I schedule it to turn on and off automatically?

Yes. Pro Mode (Simplified) includes on/off timers, input selection at switch-on and wake-up when an input signal is detected. A school in Al Rayyan could set the screen to start with the morning bell and switch off after the last period, and its standby power is listed at 0.5 W.

Can it play content without a PC or media player?

For supported content, yes. The BRAVIA Signage Free 2.0 app plays HTML5 content, video and photos from 16GB of internal storage or from a USB stick. The USB playback codecs include MP4, MKV, MOV and JPEG. A retail outlet in Al Sadd could load a weekly promotion loop by USB without a separate computer.

How does it connect to a network and control systems?

The unit has integrated Wi-Fi and a side-mounted Ethernet connection. It can be controlled over IP networks or RS-232C, with HDMI-CEC support. Facilities teams can change inputs, adjust volume and monitor power status remotely. Agree network addresses and access rules with your IT team before installation.

Which ports are on the side of the display?

Three HDMI inputs, two USB ports, one Ethernet connection, one analogue audio input, one composite video input and one digital audio output are all side mounted. HDMI 1 to 3 support HDCP2.3. Side placement lets a laptop or media player connect without reaching behind a wall-mounted screen.

How much does it weigh and what space does it need?

It weighs 9.3 kg without stand and measures 972 x 567 x 70 mm. You will need a VESA-compatible bracket with a 200 x 200 mm pattern, a wall that can carry 9.3 kg, and a route for cables behind the wall. At 70 mm deep, the panel sits close to the wall when mounted.

How do I order the FW-43EZ20L from SmartRooms Qatar?

Request a quote from SmartRooms Qatar with your quantity, room plan and mounting details. Quotations are usually provided within one working day. We accept purchase orders, bank transfer and cheque, and deliver to all eight municipalities of Qatar with professional installation available.
