Overview

The ViewSonic CDE4314-2C is a 43-inch commercial 4K display for lobbies, retail frontages and meeting rooms. Its native 3840 x 2160 panel delivers 500 nits typical brightness and runs in landscape or portrait. Android 14 runs on a quad-core processor with 4 GB RAM, and USB playback carries on if the main source is lost. It integrates with Crestron, Extron, Q-SYS and AMX control systems.

A 43-inch 4K display rated for continuous use

The ViewSonic CDE4314-2C is a commercial 43-inch display with a native 3840 x 2160 panel, suited to digital signage, reception boards and collaboration spaces that stay switched on. Its 500-nit typical brightness, 1200:1 typical contrast and anti-glare coating with 25% haze help the picture hold up in well-lit rooms. The screen runs in landscape or portrait, so one model can serve a wide information board or a tall directory sign.

Under the glass sits a quad-core ARM Cortex-A73 processor with 4 GB DDR4 RAM and 32 GB storage, running Android 14 AOSP. Because the operating system runs on the display itself, scheduled content can be played from a USB drive without an external player for each screen.

Specifications that matter for signage and meetings

Audio: two 10W speakers, plus a 3.5mm audio output and an SPDIF output.
Power: 100-240 VAC with a plus or minus 10% tolerance, rated at 65.18W with Energy Star.

Where it fits in Qatar

In a shopping mall in Lusail or West Bay, a 43-inch unit suits a promotional panel near the entrance or a directory beside a lift lobby, where portrait mode uses a narrow column well. In a clinic in Al Sadd, it can show queue numbers and health-awareness content in the waiting area. In a government office in Msheireb or a training centre in Education City, a meeting room display can connect to a laptop over HDMI or USB-C, with the RS-232 port available for a room control system.

Planning the installation and the Qatar climate

At 9.1 kg net, with a 964.6 x 552.5 x 62 mm body and a VESA 200 x 200 mm mounting pattern, the CDE4314-2C needs a suitable bracket and a wall that can carry its weight. A free site survey from SmartRooms Qatar is useful before drilling into a feature wall, a plasterboard partition or a glass panel.

The operating range is 0 to 40°C. Outdoor temperatures in Qatar can exceed 45°C in summer, so the display belongs in an air-conditioned room, away from direct sun through windows and away from heat-producing equipment. Confirm the room's cooling and airflow with the SmartRooms Qatar team before installation, especially for lobbies with glazed fronts.

What is in the box and how to order

The package includes a 3 m power cord, a remote control with two AAA batteries, an RS-232 adapter, four wall mount screws, a 3 m HDMI cable, a quick start guide and a compliance statement. The manufacturer lists Energy Star, EPEAT Silver, cTUVus and FCC among its regulatory approvals. Questions about CDE4314-2C

What is the ViewSonic CDE4314-2C designed for?

It is a 43-inch commercial 4K display for digital signage, reception boards, corporate lobbies and meeting rooms. The native 3840 x 2160 panel with 500 nits typical brightness keeps text and images clear at close viewing distance. It runs in landscape or portrait, so it suits both wide information screens and tall directory displays. In Qatar it fits corporate offices in Doha and retail frontages in Lusail that need clear content all day.

Is this display rated for 24/7 operation?

Yes. The specifications list 24/7 operating hours, and the backlight is rated for 50,000 hours. The operating range is 0 to 40°C with 20% to 80% RH non-condensing. For a hotel lobby in West Bay or a transit waiting area that runs all day, plan airflow and room temperature so the display stays within that range, and ask the SmartRooms Qatar team to check the site before installation.

Can it be used outdoors or in a hot room in Qatar?

The data sheet gives no outdoor rating for this model, and its operating range is 0 to 40°C. Summer temperatures in Qatar can exceed 45°C, so keep it indoors in an air-conditioned space, away from direct sunlight through windows and from heat sources. The anti-glare coating reduces reflections, but it does not make the display suitable for dust or weather exposure.

What happens to the content if the main source fails?

The display supports USB media playback with automatic signal failover, so it can keep showing content from USB when the primary source is lost. Scheduled USB playback is also listed in the specifications. This matters for a school reception or a bank branch where a blank screen during opening hours is a problem. Test the failover with your own laptop, media player and USB drive before sign-off, as behaviour depends on how your sources are set up.

Will it work with our Crestron, Q-SYS or Extron control system?

The manufacturer lists the CDE4314-2C as Crestron Connected certified and compatible with Crestron XiO Cloud, Extron IP Link certified, and offering a Q-SYS Verified Plugin for the Q-SYS ecosystem. It also supports AMX. These integrations allow remote control of the display and other AV components, on-site or off-site. Share your control platform and version when you request a quote so the integration can be checked.

Can I mount it in portrait for a menu board or wayfinding sign?

Yes, the display supports both landscape and portrait orientation, so one model can serve a horizontal lobby board and a vertical corridor sign. In a Lusail mall, a portrait unit beside a lift lobby can show directory listings without wasting width. Check the orientation setting and the VESA 200 x 200 mm mounting points before you finalise the bracket.

Which ports and inputs are available?

The panel has three HDMI inputs rated HDMI 2.1 at 4K 60Hz, with HDMI 3 supporting ARC. A USB Type-C port provides DP 1.2, USB 2.0, 15W power delivery and Ethernet sharing. There is one RS-232 control port, one RJ45 LAN port rated 10/100M for USB Type-C, two USB 2.0 Type-A ports, a 3.5mm audio output, an SPDIF output and a WiFi slot.

Can staff share content wirelessly from their laptops?

The bundled software includes AirSync for wireless presentation, and the display has a WiFi slot. Wireless presentation lets staff show laptop content without cables in a meeting room, which suits ministry or corporate offices in Doha where people move between rooms. Confirm which wireless module your site needs when requesting a quote, as the source data does not state what the WiFi slot includes.

How can IT teams manage several units across different sites?

The CDE4314-2C is designed for IT and AV teams, with ViewSonic Manager for device management and web-based remote device management. Teams can monitor and control displays from one place, which helps a school group with classrooms across several campuses or a retailer with branches in Doha, Al Rayyan and Al Khor. Plan the network settings and user access with your IT team before deployment.

Is 43 inches the right size for a meeting room?

A 43-inch panel suits a huddle room, a reception wall or a clinic waiting area where viewers sit a few metres away. For a larger boardroom or lecture hall in Education City, a bigger screen is usually the better choice. The 9.9 mm bezel on all sides keeps the picture area tidy when units are placed side by side, and the 178-degree horizontal and vertical viewing angles let off-centre viewers see the same image.

What is needed to mount it on a wall?

The mounting pattern is VESA 200 x 200 mm. The net weight is 9.1 kg and the gross shipping weight is 13.04 kg. The package includes four wall mount screws. Check the wall construction, cable route and bracket choice before installation, and book a free site survey with SmartRooms Qatar, especially for plasterboard partitions or glass walls in offices, hotels or hospital corridors.

Can a government office or school order it through an LPO or tender?

Yes. SmartRooms Qatar accepts purchase orders (LPOs) and supports government tenders, including Monaqasat. For a school in Al Rayyan fitting out several classrooms, state the quantity, delivery location and required accessories in your quote request, and the team will prepare a quotation that matches your purchase order. Payment can be made by bank transfer, cheque or purchase order.
