Overview

The ViewSonic CDE65G3-1C is a 65-inch 4K UHD commercial display that ships without a pre-installed operating system, so it runs no bundled apps or background services. It offers 500 nits typical brightness, landscape and portrait use, built-in USB media playback and USB-C with DisplayPort 1.2 for BYOD meetings. It suits government offices, schools and clinics in Qatar that need always-on signage or meeting-room screens. Request a quote.

What the CDE65G3-1C is built to do

The ViewSonic CDE65G3-1C is a 65-inch commercial display with a 3840 x 2160 native panel and a 16:9 aspect ratio. Its defining feature is the absence of a pre-installed operating system or apps. With no bundled software or background services on the screen, there is less to patch, lock down and audit, which matters to IT teams running government offices, clinics and university buildings. It is rated for 24/7 operation, so it can run continuous announcements or a reception display all day.

Image quality rests on a TFT LCD panel with DLED backlight, 500 nits typical brightness, a 5000:1 contrast ratio and a 6.5 ms response time. The anti-glare coating and 3H surface hardness help in rooms with windows or bright ceiling lights, and the backlight is rated for 50,000 hours.

Connectivity for BYOD meetings and signage

The display has three HDMI inputs supporting HDMI 2.1 at 4K and 60 Hz, with HDMI-CEC and HDCP 1.4/2.2. Only HDMI 3 supports ARC, so plan audio routing if a soundbar is needed. The USB-C port carries DisplayPort 1.2, HDCP and USB data 2.0, letting a compatible laptop share its screen over one cable. Two USB-A ports handle system updates and media playback from a USB drive, which suits offline content. The RS-232 input and a LAN port with Wake-on-LAN support allow remote control and management, and a VGA input at 1080p covers older PCs.

Where it fits in Qatar

Government and ministry reception areas in Doha, showing visitor information and service announcements throughout the Sunday to Thursday working week.
Private clinic and hospital waiting areas in Al Sadd or Msheireb, displaying queue information and health messages around the clock.
Meeting rooms in West Bay and Lusail used for video calls with teams abroad, where staff connect their own laptops over USB-C or HDMI.

What to plan before installation

The panel weighs 22.75 kg net and 31.1 kg gross, and it mounts to a 600 x 400 mm VESA pattern. Overall dimensions are 1466.7 x 841 x 79.7 mm. Confirm that the wall can carry the load and that the mounting points line up before drilling. SmartRooms Qatar offers a free site survey, which is worth booking for a panel of this size.

The rated operating range is 0 to 40 degrees Celsius with 20% to 80% relative humidity, non-condensing, and an automatic overheat shutdown. Qatar summers can exceed 45 degrees Celsius, so install the unit in an air-conditioned room and avoid open porches, unshaded atriums or spots in direct sun through glass. The power supply accepts 100 to 240 VAC, which covers Qatar's 240 V mains, and typical consumption is listed at 101.7 W with Energy Star.

For public sector and school tenders, the manufacturer lists EPEAT Gold, Energy Star 8.0, FCC, CE EMC, RoHS and ISTA certification. Quotations are usually issued within one working day, and SmartRooms Qatar accepts purchase orders (LPOs) and government tenders, including Monaqasat.

Send your room dimensions, the number of units and your mounting plan to SmartRooms Qatar, and request a quote for the CDE65G3-1C.

Questions about CDE65G3-1C

What does OS-free mean on the ViewSonic CDE65G3-1C?

It means the display ships without a pre-installed operating system, apps or background services. Less software on the screen means fewer components for your IT team to patch, lock down and audit. Content usually comes from a connected laptop, a media player or a USB drive plugged into one of the two USB-A ports, and the manufacturer cites fast boot times and simpler IT management as results.

Is the CDE65G3-1C suitable for a government reception area in Doha?

Yes, for an indoor reception that is air-conditioned. It is rated for 24/7 operation, offers 500 nits typical brightness and has an anti-glare coating, and it can show visitor information in landscape or portrait. Keep it away from direct sun through glass, because the rated operating range is 0 to 40 degrees Celsius.

What temperature and humidity range does the display support?

The rated operating temperature is 0 to 40 degrees Celsius with automatic overheat shutdown, and humidity must stay between 20% and 80% RH, non-condensing. Qatar summers can exceed 45 degrees Celsius, so install it in a cooled room rather than an open porch, unshaded atrium or unconditioned storeroom. Confirm the room cooling with the SmartRooms Qatar team during the site survey.

Can I connect a laptop with a single USB-C cable?

The USB-C port carries DisplayPort 1.2, HDCP 1.4/2.2 and USB data 2.0, so a compatible laptop can send video and data over one cable. This suits BYOD meetings where staff bring their own machines and want to share quickly. Check that your laptop's USB-C port supports video output before the meeting.

Which HDMI port supports audio return for a soundbar?

Only HDMI 3 supports ARC, so connect a soundbar or AV receiver there if you need audio return. All three HDMI ports support HDMI 2.1 at 4K and 60 Hz, along with HDMI-CEC and HDCP 1.4/2.2. The unit also has a 3.5mm audio output and an SPDIF output for external audio systems.

How can the display be controlled from a room control system?

The panel has an RS-232 input and a LAN port with Wake-on-LAN support. The manufacturer lists Crestron Connected certification, Extron IP Link certification, a Q-SYS verified plugin and AMX support, which allow centralised control of displays and other AV equipment. Your integrator should confirm the driver for your control processor when you request a quote.

What wall mount and space do I need?

The display uses a 600 x 400 mm VESA mounting pattern. Overall size is 1466.7 x 841 x 79.7 mm, and net weight is 22.75 kg, or 31.1 kg gross. Check that the wall can carry the load before mounting, and book a free site survey with SmartRooms Qatar so the position suits your meeting room or lobby.

Is it a good choice for a video wall?

It can be planned as part of a wall, since its bezel measures 15.9 mm on each side, but a video wall needs matched units, a rigid frame and accurate alignment. The landscape and portrait option lets you choose orientation for each panel. Ask SmartRooms Qatar for a layout showing the number of panels, spacing and mounting method before you order.

Does it carry energy and environmental certifications for public tenders?

The manufacturer lists EPEAT Gold, Energy Star 8.0, CE EMC, FCC, RoHS, WEEE and ISTA certification, and gives typical power consumption of 101.7 W with Energy Star. Government and school buyers can use these in their evaluation. SmartRooms Qatar accepts purchase orders (LPOs) and government tenders, including Monaqasat.

Can it be used in a school classroom or corridor in Al Wakrah or Al Rayyan?

A 65-inch 4K screen suits a classroom or corridor for timetables, notices and lesson content, and 24/7 operation supports continuous display. The power supply accepts 100 to 240 VAC, which covers Qatar's 240 V mains. The 3 m power cord is selected by shipping area, so confirm the plug fits your BS 1363 socket before ordering.

What comes in the box?

The package includes a 3 m power cord, a remote control, two AAA batteries, a Quick Start Guide, an RS-232 adapter, five clamps, four screws, a 3 m HDMI cable and a compliance statement. A wall bracket is not listed in the package contents, so include your mounting hardware in the quotation discussion.

How do I request a quote for this display?

Send your room list, the number of units and the intended use to SmartRooms Qatar and request a quote. Quotations usually come within one working day. SmartRooms Qatar supplies the display, delivers to all eight municipalities of Qatar, provides professional installation, and accepts bank transfer, cheque or purchase order payment. The product is covered by the manufacturer's warranty.
