CDE9831-1C

A 98-inch 4K panel for large rooms and long operating days

The ViewSonic CDE9831-1C is a 98-inch commercial display built on a 3840x2160 TFT LCD panel with DLED backlighting. It is designed for organisations that need one large, always-on screen for digital signage, meeting spaces or public areas, and it can be mounted in landscape or portrait orientation. It belongs to the CDE31 Series.

The display area measures 2158.848 mm by 1214.352 mm. Brightness is rated at 500 nits, with a typical contrast ratio of 1200:1 and 5000:1 when dynamic contrast is enabled. The anti-glare surface, rated 3H hardness with 25% haze, helps cut reflections from windows and ceiling lights. Viewing angles are rated at 178 degrees horizontally and vertically, so people seated at the side of a room still see the same picture. The backlight is rated for 50,000 hours, and the bezel is 18 mm on every side.

Platform, inputs and failover built for continuous content

The display runs Android 14 AOSP on a quad-core ARM Cortex-A73 processor with 8GB DDR4 RAM and 32GB of storage. The manufacturer states the platform can be upgraded to Android 16, which supports ongoing security updates. It also rates the time from power-on to showing content at under 7 seconds.

Inputs include three rear HDMI 2.1 ports (4K at 60 Hz), a USB-C port, two USB-A ports, two RJ45 LAN ports, an RS-232 port, 3.5 mm audio in and out, an SPDIF output and an HDMI output. The USB-C port carries video, data and Ethernet over one cable, and it is rated for PD 65W or 15W power delivery when an OPS module is fitted.

When input priority is configured, the display switches to the next available source if the primary signal drops. This matters in busy places where a blank screen interrupts visitors. USB playback handles video, audio and image files with auto-play, so the screen can run without a connected PC.

Where the CDE9831-1C fits in Qatar

A private school in Al Wakrah could use this model in a hall to display timetables and announcements in portrait or landscape, with content scheduled from the management platform. A ministry in Doha might place one in a boardroom where its Pro AV control integration fits into the existing AV system. In a clinic or hospital waiting area in Al Sadd, the screen can show wayfinding and health messages, provided it sits in an air-conditioned space. In a shopping centre in Lusail, the same panel can loop promotions while a backup source takes over if the main feed fails.

Planning the installation: weight, wall, heat and power

The net weight is 53.9 kg and the physical size is 2198.9 x 1254.6 x 68.6 mm. The VESA pattern is 800x400 mm, and the package includes wall mount screws and clamps. Because of the weight, SmartRooms Qatar offers a free site survey before wall mounting to check the wall, the bracket and cable routing.

The operating temperature range is 0 to 40 degrees Celsius, with 20% to 80% relative humidity. Qatar summer temperatures can exceed 45 degrees, so install the display in an air-conditioned room with airflow around the panel, away from direct sunlight through windows. The power input is rated 100-240 VAC ±10%, which covers Qatar's 240 V supply. The included power cord is supplied for the shipping region, so confirm the plug type before ordering. Rated consumption is 130.3W with Energy Star.

The box also contains a remote control with two AAA batteries, an RS-232 adapter, a 3m HDMI cable and a quick start guide. Request a quote from SmartRooms Qatar for the CDE9831-1C.
