A portable conference speakerphone for mixed meeting rooms

The Angekis Cleartalk Wireless ASP-04 is a conference speakerphone for people who join calls from a laptop and need to move around while staying on the line. The main unit houses the speakers, the microphone and the audio processing, so the table stays clear of cables. A 2.4GHz USB adapter links it to the computer, and the unit works with common conferencing applications, including Skype, Teams and Zoom.

Audio and battery facts that matter in practice

Pickup: 360-degree coverage within a 3-metre pickup range, using an omnidirectional microphone rated 20 to 8000Hz.
Echo and noise control: 256ms echo cancellation and dynamic noise reduction, with full duplex communication so both ends can speak at once.
Battery: built-in lithium battery rated 7 to 10 hours, with a 1-year battery guarantee on top of the 3-year warranty.
Private listening: a 3.5mm audio output jack for a personal headset when a conversation should stay private.

Where the Cleartalk ASP-04 fits in Qatar

In a boardroom in West Bay or Msheireb, a small group often joins a call with colleagues in another country. Placing the speakerphone at the centre of the table lets everyone hear the remote team without a fixed installation, and the charging dock keeps it ready between meetings.

In a university or training centre in Education City, a tutor may move between a lecture bench and a whiteboard while an external examiner or guest speaker joins by video. The wireless link lets the tutor stay on the call while walking, and the 3.5mm jack lets a student take a private one-to-one session on a headset.

In a government office in Doha, where staff switch between Arabic and English during the same call, a compact unit with 360-degree pickup suits a shared room without a dedicated audiovisual installation.

What to plan for before you order

Use it indoors in air-conditioned rooms. The operating range is 5°C to 44°C at 20 to 85% humidity, non-condensing, and Qatar summer temperatures can exceed 45°C, so keep it out of parked cars and sunlit window sills.
The storage range is -10°C to 55°C.
Connect to a USB 2.0 port (compatible with USB 1.1) on Windows 7, 8, 10 or XP, or on Mac 10.7 and above.
Charging uses a USB supply rated DC 5V 500mA with a 1.5m cable. Qatar sockets are 240V BS 1363 (Type G), so confirm the charging arrangement with the SmartRooms Qatar team before ordering.
Plan seating within the 3-metre pickup range and allow for the 155 x 148 x 37 mm footprint. The unit weighs 340g.

Questions about Cleartalk Wireless ASP-04

What is the Angekis Cleartalk Wireless ASP-04 designed for?

It is a wireless conference speakerphone for meetings where participants join calls from a computer. The main unit contains the speakers, microphone and audio processing, and it works with Skype, Teams and Zoom. It suits meeting rooms in Doha, Lusail and Education City where people need to move while staying on the call. Request a quote for the number of units you need.

How far can the microphone pick up voices?

The ASP-04 offers 360-degree coverage with a 3-metre pickup range, using an omnidirectional microphone rated 20 to 8000Hz. Plan seating so that participants sit within that distance of the unit. In a six-seat boardroom in West Bay, place the unit at the centre of the table and check that the furthest chairs are within three metres before you request a quote.

How does the wireless connection work?

The speakerphone links to the computer through the 2.4GHz USB wireless adapter supplied with it, which plugs into a USB 2.0 port (compatible with USB 1.1). Because the unit is not tied to a cable, presenters in a training room or shared meeting space can move while staying on the call. Test the link in the room before the meeting, and confirm adapter placement with the SmartRooms Qatar team when planning a multi-room order.

How long does the battery last and what is the charging dock for?

The built-in lithium battery provides 7 to 10 hours of use, and the manufacturer quotes up to ten hours. The charging dock works as a base station: keep the unit docked on the table for normal use, then lift it off when you need to move. The battery is covered by a 1-year battery guarantee, and the unit carries a 3-year warranty.

Can it be used in an air-conditioned office in Doha during summer?

Indoor, air-conditioned use is the right environment. The operating range is 5°C to 44°C at 20 to 85% humidity, non-condensing. Qatar summer temperatures can exceed 45°C, so do not leave the unit in a parked car, on a sunlit windowsill or near a heat source. The storage range is -10°C to 55°C.

Will it work with our Windows or Mac laptops?

The unit lists compatibility with Windows 7, 8, 10 and XP, and with Mac 10.7 and above. It connects through USB 2.0, which is compatible with USB 1.1. Before ordering for a school or government office, confirm your operating system version and conferencing application, then test one unit with your IT team so the rest of the order is set up correctly.

Can I use headphones for private calls?

Yes. The unit has a 3.5mm audio output jack that allows private communication and lets you use a personal headset or earphones. This suits a counselling room at a school or a one-to-one tutorial at a training centre in Al Sadd, where the conversation should not be heard across the room. The loudspeaker and the microphone can each be muted separately.

What do the indicator lights mean?

The triangle indicator shows the unit is working. The left light shows that the speaker is muted and the right light shows that the microphone is muted. A flashing left light means the volume is being adjusted, and the right indicator turns orange when the battery is fully charged. These cues let a presenter check the status without looking at the computer during a shared call.

How big is the unit and what does it weigh?

The ASP-04 measures 155 x 148 x 37 mm and weighs 340g. Its small footprint suits a crowded table in a shared office or coworking area in Lusail. Plan the 1.5m USB power line so it reaches a charging socket without crossing the table, and keep the unit within the 3-metre pickup range of every seat.

What warranty applies and how does SmartRooms Qatar supply the unit?

The manufacturer warranty for the ASP-04 is three years, and the battery has a one-year guarantee. SmartRooms Qatar supplies the unit across Qatar, with delivery to all eight municipalities, professional installation where needed and free site surveys. We accept purchase orders (LPOs), government tenders, and payment by bank transfer, cheque or purchase order. Request a quote and our team will usually reply within one working day.

Is it suitable for a school ordering several units?

Yes, for classrooms, staff rooms and meeting rooms in international or Arabic-curriculum schools. Each unit weighs 340g, so several can be moved between rooms easily. A school ordering several units can issue a purchase order (LPO), and the 3.5mm jack supports private calls for counselling. Confirm the number of units, the charging arrangement and the required operating system with SmartRooms Qatar before you order.

Can it connect to a dedicated video conferencing system or room codec?

The ASP-04 is described as a USB speakerphone that connects to a computer running conferencing software. It is not described as a room codec or a dedicated video system. For a boardroom or lecture hall that already has a video system, ask SmartRooms Qatar to confirm which system will host the calls before you request a quote, so the speakerphone is chosen for the right setup.
