Overview

The Angekis Saber X is a PTZ camera for live streaming and production, with a 1/1.8-inch 12MP CMOS sensor, 4K video up to 60fps and 30x optical zoom. It offers HDMI 2.0, 3G-SDI and IP outputs, a 3.5mm line-in audio input and PoE+ support. Suited to lecture halls, boardrooms and event venues across Qatar. Request a quote from SmartRooms Qatar.

A 4K PTZ camera for live production

The Angekis Saber X, model code ANG2-31UHD-01, is a pan-tilt-zoom camera for organisations that stream, record or broadcast events and need one camera to cover a wide room and a distant speaker. Its 1/1.8-inch, 12MP CMOS sensor delivers 4K video at up to 60fps over HDMI, and its 30x optical zoom spans a focal length from 6.91mm to 214.64mm.

Image and zoom performance in numbers

Zoom range matters most when the camera sits far from the subject. The field of view runs from 60 degrees at the widest setting to 2 degrees at full telephoto, and the minimum focus distance is 0.3 m at wide and 1 m at telephoto. The camera lists a minimum illumination of 0.01 lux and a signal-to-noise ratio above 50dB, with 2D and 3D digital noise reduction for dimly lit halls.

  • Pan range of -170° to +170° and tilt range of -30° to +90°
  • Pan speed up to 120°/s and tilt speed up to 80°/s
  • Presets: 10 via remote control and 128 via VISCA
  • Preset precision of 0.1°

Autotracking is built in, and it is standard on units produced after 25 August 2023. The camera follows a moving subject by reading its outline and movement, which frees an operator from manual framing during talks or performances.

Connectivity for production and installation

Video leaves the camera through HDMI 2.0, 3G-SDI, USB-C and an RJ45 IP port on a 1000 Mbps network connection. IP streaming supports RTSP, RTMP, ONVIF 2.4, SRT and VISCA over IP. A 3.5mm line-in input lets you add an audio source to the feed. An optional NDI|HX version is available for low-latency IP streaming; confirm it when you request a quote, because it is an option. The camera supports PoE+ and also accepts a DC12V, 2A supply.

The 4K frame-rate picture needs care. The HDMI list includes 3840 x 2160 at 60fps, but the frame-rate table notes a 30fps maximum for 4K in some modes. Match the output mode to your switcher or encoder before you order.

Where the Saber X fits in Qatar

A university lecture theatre in Education City can run one camera on the lecturer, with presets for the lectern, the whiteboard and the audience, while the feed reaches remote students over IP. A ministry boardroom in Msheireb or West Bay can use the camera for hybrid meetings with teams abroad, with presets recalled from the room control system over RS232, RS485 or RJ45. An event venue in Lusail or a hotel ballroom can send HDMI or SDI into a production switcher for live events.

What to plan before you order

Check the mounting position first. The camera measures 220 x 190 x 193.5 mm and weighs 1.9 kg, so a ceiling or wall bracket and a site survey help confirm sightlines to the presenter. The manufacturer data does not give an operating temperature range, so for a room without air conditioning, or a camera facing a sunlit window in summer, confirm the environment with the SmartRooms Qatar team before installation. Our free site surveys and professional installation help with this planning. Public bodies, schools and universities can order by LPO or through Monaqasat tenders.

Request a quote from SmartRooms Qatar with your room layout, the outputs you need and your control system, and we will return a quotation, usually within one working day.

Questions about Saber X

What is the Angekis Saber X designed for?
The Saber X is a PTZ camera for live streaming, recording and AV integration. It suits a university lecture theatre, a ministry conference room or a school assembly hall where one camera must frame the speaker from a distance. With 4K video, 30x optical zoom and HDMI, SDI and IP outputs, it can feed a production switcher, a streaming encoder or a video conferencing setup. Request a quote to match its outputs to your existing equipment.
Can the Saber X output 4K at 60 frames per second?
Yes, the HDMI 2.0 output lists 3840 x 2160 at 60fps, alongside 50, 30 and 25fps modes. However, the manufacturer's frame-rate table caps 4K at 30fps in some modes. Before ordering, confirm the resolution and frame rate your production needs, and set the camera to the 50Hz or 60Hz signal your switcher uses. That check avoids a mismatch on the day of a live event.
How much zoom does it give, and how close can it focus?
The camera offers 30x optical zoom with a focal length from 6.91mm to 214.64mm. Its field of view runs from 60 degrees at wide to 2 degrees at telephoto. The minimum focus distance is 0.3 m at wide and 1 m at telephoto. A camera at the back of a large lecture hall can frame a lectern at the front, but test sightlines on site before choosing the mounting point.
What video outputs and control ports are on the unit?
Video outputs are HDMI 2.0, 3G-SDI, USB-C and RJ45 for IP streaming. Control is available over RS232, RS485 using VISCA or Pelco-P/D protocols, RJ45 using VISCA over IP, and USB-C. The camera also has a 3.5mm line-in audio input. Cabling choice depends on distance and the control system, so share your switcher and control panel models when you request a quote.
What is the NDI|HX version, and is it standard?
It is an optional version of the Saber X. The NDI|HX version adds low-latency, efficient IP streaming and access to the NDI toolkit. NDI is a registered trademark of Vizrt Group. Because it is an option rather than the default configuration, confirm the NDI|HX version in your quotation if your production or video conferencing system uses NDI. Include the model code ANG2-31UHD-01 in your enquiry.
Does it track a speaker automatically, and which units have it?
Autotracking is built into the Saber X and is standard on units produced after 25 August 2023. It follows a moving subject by analysing its shape and movement, so a single presenter can stay in frame without an operator. Units built before that date do not have autotracking as standard. Confirm the build date with SmartRooms Qatar before you order for a boardroom or lecture hall where automatic framing is required.
How do we control presets from a boardroom control system in West Bay?
The camera stores 10 presets through its remote control and 128 through VISCA, with preset precision of 0.1 degrees. A boardroom in West Bay could save presets for the head of the table, the screen and the whiteboard, then recall them from a control panel over RS232, RS485 or VISCA over IP. Pan runs from -170 to +170 degrees and tilt from -30 to +90 degrees.
Can it be powered over Ethernet?
Yes, the Saber X supports PoE+, which lets one Ethernet cable provide power for a ceiling installation. It also has a DC12V, 2A input for a separate power supply. Choose PoE+ only if your network switch provides enough PoE+ power for the camera. Confirm the power arrangement in your quotation, because the data we hold does not state which power accessories are included.
Will it cope with Qatar's summer heat and dust?
The manufacturer data does not give an operating temperature range or dust rating, so SmartRooms Qatar cannot confirm performance in extreme conditions from the data alone. Install it in an air-conditioned room where possible. For a school hall in Al Rayyan without air conditioning, or a camera facing a sunlit window, ask our team to confirm the environment before ordering. Outdoor installation is not covered by this data.
Is there enough room for a ceiling or wall mount in a school hall?
The camera measures 220 x 190 x 193.5 mm and weighs 1.9 kg (4.2 lb). Its pan range of -170 to +170 degrees and tilt range of -30 to +90 degrees mean the mount must clear the full movement, not just the body. A school hall in Al Rayyan needs a mount position with clear sightlines to the stage. Mounting hardware is not listed in the source data, so request a free site survey with your room dimensions.
How can a government body or school order it?
Ministries, authorities, schools and universities can order by purchase order (LPO) or through government tenders, including Monaqasat. Send the quantity, room layout and required outputs, and SmartRooms Qatar usually returns a quotation within one working day. Payment can be made by bank transfer, cheque or purchase order. Products are covered by the manufacturer's warranty.
