Overview

The Barco ClickShare Hub Core is a modular wireless room system for video meetings. Participants start a meeting with one tap on a ClickShare Control Panel (not included in this package), and a ClickShare Button shares 4K content without cables. It works with Microsoft Teams Rooms and supports wireless BYOD for Zoom, WebEx and Google Meet. Suited to boardrooms and meeting rooms in Doha, Lusail and West Bay.

What the ClickShare Hub Core does in a meeting room

The ClickShare Hub Core is the base unit of a wireless video conferencing system built for rooms where people in the room meet with remote participants. It handles wireless sharing and meeting start-up from one device, and a mounting disc in the box helps with installation. Because the system is modular, the peripherals can be chosen to suit each room.

Wireless 4K sharing from a single button

Presenters share from a fifth-generation ClickShare Button, which comes with the Hub Core. The button supports Wi-Fi 6E and provides a USB-C DisplayPort output. The unit accepts 4K UHD input at 30Hz over HDMI 2.0, and its HDMI output reaches 5120 x 2160 at 30Hz for ultrawide displays. Only one source appears on screen at a time, which keeps the room layout simple.

  • Reach: up to 30 m between the button and the base unit.
  • Frequency bands: 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz and 6 GHz, with DFS channels supported in select countries.
  • Noise: maximum 25 dBA at 30°C.

Joining Microsoft Teams Rooms and other platforms

The system runs Android under the Microsoft Device Ecosystem Platform (MDEP) and requires a Microsoft Teams Rooms license. Wireless BYOD lets participants run Zoom, WebEx, Google Meet and other platforms from their own laptops, which helps organisations that work with partners using different tools. Management and reporting are provided through XMS Cloud.

Where it fits in Qatar

In a government ministry in West Bay, a boardroom with Microsoft Teams Rooms lets officials join from their laptops and share documents without cables, while colleagues calling in from abroad see the room clearly. A university faculty in Education City can use the same setup for hybrid seminars, where the lecturer shares and remote students join on their usual platform. A conference suite in a hotel in Lusail can let guests present wirelessly without new cabling.

Planning power, placement and the operating environment

The operating temperature range is 0°C to 40°C, with a maximum of 35°C at 3,000 m, and operating humidity is 0 to 85% relative humidity, non-condensing. Summer temperatures in Qatar can exceed 45°C, so install the Hub Core in air-conditioned meeting rooms and avoid unventilated or unconditioned spaces. Confirm the environment for each room during the free site survey.

  • Power: external USB-C charger rated 100W (PD3.0) or 180W (PD3.1 EPR); 140W maximum operational consumption.
  • Connections: 1 Gbit Ethernet LAN, USB-C power input, HDMI 2.0 output, USB-A, USB-C and USB-C DisplayPort outputs, plus a front USB-C port.
  • Size and weight: 37 x 180 x 180 mm, 720 g, with a Kensington lock point.

The power cable and power cord are not included in this package, and the box contents do not list a power adapter. Confirm the power supply for Qatar's 240 V, BS 1363 sockets before ordering.

Share your room size, the number of meeting rooms and your current Microsoft Teams setup, and the SmartRooms Qatar team will prepare a quotation, usually within one working day. Request a quote, ask for a free site survey before any mounting, and send a purchase order (LPO) if you are equipping several rooms.

Questions about ClickShare Hub Core

What is the Barco ClickShare Hub Core used for?
It is the base unit of a wireless video conferencing system for meeting rooms where in-room and remote participants meet together. Presenters share 4K content through a ClickShare Button, and participants start Microsoft Teams Rooms meetings from the Control Panel. It suits boardrooms and meeting rooms in Doha companies, government offices and schools that hold regular Teams-based meetings.
Is the ClickShare Control Panel included with the Hub Core?
No. The manufacturer data states that the Control Panel, power cable and power cord are not included in this current package. The Hub Core works with the Control Panel to let participants start a meeting with a single tap, so include it in your planning for each room. SmartRooms Qatar will confirm the exact items listed in your quotation.
Do I need a Microsoft Teams Rooms license to use it?
Yes. The data lists a Microsoft Teams Rooms license as required. The Hub Core runs Android under the Microsoft Device Ecosystem Platform (MDEP) and is designed for Teams Rooms meetings. If your organisation already runs Teams Rooms in other rooms, the new unit can follow the same setup. Ask the SmartRooms Qatar team about licensing for the number of rooms you plan to equip.
Can participants use Zoom, WebEx or Google Meet instead?
Yes, through wireless BYOD. Participants can connect their own laptops to the room and run other video conferencing platforms such as Zoom, WebEx and Google Meet. This suits a Doha company or university that works with partners using different tools, while the room keeps its Microsoft Teams Rooms setup for scheduled meetings.
What screen resolution does the Hub Core support?
The video input accepts 4K UHD at 3840 x 2160 at 30Hz over HDMI 2.0. The main HDMI output is listed at up to 5120 x 2160 at 30Hz, which corresponds to the UW5K WUHD format. Check your display's input and refresh rate with the SmartRooms Qatar team before buying, because 30Hz output may affect smoothness of fast-moving content.
How many sources can appear on the screen at once?
One. The data lists a maximum of one source simultaneously on screen, so the room shows a single shared presentation at a time. If meetings need two laptops visible together, plan a different display arrangement or confirm this requirement with the SmartRooms Qatar team before the quotation is prepared.
How far can a presenter stand from the base unit?
Reach is listed as up to 30 m between the ClickShare Button and the Base Unit. In a typical conference room that covers the table and rear seats, but walls and obstacles can reduce range. Choose the base unit position during the free site survey and test the connection from the furthest seat before mounting.
Is it suitable for a boardroom in West Bay during summer?
Yes, provided it is installed in an air-conditioned room. The operating range is 0°C to 40°C, with a maximum of 35°C at 3,000 m, while Qatar summer temperatures can exceed 45°C. Keep the unit away from unventilated cabinets and sunlit windows, and confirm the room conditions with the SmartRooms Qatar team during the site survey.
What should a university in Education City plan before installing one in a seminar room?
Plan the network, power and display first. The Hub Core has a 1 Gbit Ethernet LAN port and is powered by an external USB-C charger rated 100W (PD3.0) or 180W (PD3.1 EPR), with 140W maximum operational consumption. The power cord is not included, so confirm the cable and plug suitable for Qatar's 240 V, BS 1363 sockets before placing your order.
How are several rooms managed from one place?
Management and reporting are provided through XMS Cloud, which the data lists as available. For a school or company with several rooms, IT staff can oversee the deployment from one place rather than configuring each room separately. Ask the SmartRooms Qatar team to explain the setup needed for multiple rooms, especially if they are spread across Doha, Lusail and Al Khor.
What are the dimensions and weight, and can the unit be secured?
The Hub Core measures 37 x 180 x 180 mm and weighs 720 g. It has a Kensington lock point for anti-theft protection, and a mounting disc is included in the box. Its compact size makes it easy to place on a table or cabinet, and a site survey can confirm the best position and cable route before installation.
What warranty applies, and how can a school or government body buy it?
The manufacturer data lists a 3-year standard warranty. Organisations can buy by purchase order (LPO) or through government tenders, including Monaqasat, and pay by bank transfer, cheque or purchase order. Request a quote and the SmartRooms Qatar team will usually respond within one working day with the quotation for your rooms.
