What the Apprimo Touch 10 does in a room

The Apprimo Touch 10 is a black control panel from Biamp's Apprimo range, designed to give people a touch interface for a room's AV system. Its 10-inch capacitive LCD responds to a fingertip and is protected by scratch-resistant glass, which suits a panel that gets tapped many times a day in a busy boardroom or lecture hall. It is part number 910-01873 and is designed to operate with Impera controllers.

Display, sensing and interface design

The screen runs at 1280x800 resolution with a maximum brightness of 350 nits. An ambient light sensor adjusts brightness to the room, so the panel stays readable when blinds are open or lights are dimmed for a presentation. A proximity sensor wakes the screen as someone approaches, so users do not need to press anything before they start. Interfaces are built in Project Designer, which includes preset templates and themes or lets you draw a custom layout. Power, cabling and firmware

The panel is powered over Ethernet under IEEE 802.3at Class 3, rated at 15 watts. One CAT5e or CAT6 cable carries both power and data, which removes the need for a separate wall adaptor. Your network must provide a PoE source that delivers Class 3 power, such as a PoE switch or injector, so check switch capacity before ordering several units. Firmware is updated through the built-in mini USB 2.0 port, and the kit includes a USB-OTG adapter.
