The Biamp Devio DCM-1 Black is a black pendant microphone that hangs above a conference table and picks up speech from every seat. Its beamtracking processing divides pickup into three 120-degree zones that together cover a full 360 degrees around the table. The microphone follows whoever is speaking and blends their voices, so colleagues on a video call hear a natural conversation rather than a distant, fixed pickup.

Coverage, tracking and noise control

Each of the three zones spans 120 degrees, and tracking follows activity around the table. Automatic noise suppression offers four settings (Off, Low, Medium and High), with Low as the default, so an installer can tune the microphone to a room with air conditioning hum or street noise. Four selectable elevation angle modes let the installer adjust pickup to ceiling height and seating layout. Three LED indicators show mute status at a glance.

Installation: one cable, a plenum box and optional daisy-chaining

The system has two parts: the pendant microphone and a plenum box. The plenum box is phantom powered from an SCR-20 or SCR-25 unit, draws less than 1 W, and connects over RJ-45 with a maximum distance of 49 feet (15 metres) from the SCR unit. A second DCM-1 can be daisy-chained, with a maximum of two microphones per chain. The plenum box is evaluated to UL 2043 and is suitable for air handling spaces, which matters when it sits above a suspended ceiling. An optional tile bridge mounting accessory is available.
