The Biamp Devio SCR-20TX Black is a desk-mounted conferencing hub bundled with a black TTM-XEX tabletop microphone that picks up speech around the table with 360-degree coverage. What the Devio SCR-20TX Black includes
The Devio SCR-20TX Black is a conferencing hub sold as a bundle with one black TTM-XEX tabletop microphone. It is built for huddle rooms and small conference rooms, where a few people sit around one table and need remote callers to hear them clearly. Instead of assembling a full AV rack, the team gets one desk-sized unit that handles audio processing, room tuning and display output, and weighs 0.9 kg.
Beamtracking microphone technology and professional-grade DSP work together to optimise audio, so far-end participants follow the conversation at a natural level. On first setup, Auto Setup checks device connections, adjusts room levels and sets speaker EQ, so the room is tuned without manual trial and error.
Connecting to PCs and conferencing software
The hub works with a PC running web-based conferencing software, including Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, Cisco Webex and BlueJeans. It supports both Windows and Mac computers and uses standard audio drivers. A visitor can bring a laptop into the room and connect it, or a dedicated in-room PC can stay connected permanently.
Video output has two routes. Driverless HDMI pass-through sends the picture to one in-room display with no software on the laptop. For two monitors, USB video uses DisplayLink graphics technology, which requires the DisplayLink driver on the laptop and supports Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10. Output Port 1 is the only port that supports 3840 x 2160p at 30 Hz, so the main screen should be cabled to that port if 4K is required.
Audio options and remote management
The hub has a built-in single-channel 20 W amplifier with a minimum operational load of 4 ohms. Audio can also leave through HDMI or an RCA line output with 100 ohm unbalanced output impedance, which suits rooms that use an external amplifier. Its USB connection handles 24-bit, 48 kHz audio and can charge devices at up to 5 W while connected to a computer.
For IT teams, the hub connects over RJ-45 using Cat 5e cable or better and can be monitored remotely via SNMP. The Devio System Administration Utility schedules firmware updates and deploys them to multiple Devio units, which keeps a group of huddle rooms on the same version.
