What the Devio SCX 400 does in a meeting room

The Biamp Devio SCX 400 is a conference room hub that also works as an audio DSP. It combines audio processing, USB audio and call connectivity in one unit measuring 206 mm wide and deep and 37.3 mm high. When paired with Biamp Modena devices or unified communications systems, it can act as the conference audio peripheral for the room, so the conferencing software treats the room's audio as a single device.

Microphone pickup, echo control and automatic setup

The hub includes enough onboard acoustic echo cancellation and processing to handle up to four Parlé Beamtracking microphones. That makes it a practical fit for a boardroom table or a seminar room where several people speak in turn. Its SIP VoIP interface runs over a Gigabit Ethernet connection and supports one line with two call appearances.

Biamp Launch automatically discovers and tunes attached Biamp devices, then produces a full acoustic and performance report when the process finishes. Installers can keep that report as a record of how the room was set up. The hub is configured through a web interface hosted on the device, and it can also be managed and monitored through SageVue, Biamp's management platform.

Planning power, climate and mounting

Power input is rated at 100-240 VAC, 50/60 Hz, with consumption below 150 W. That range covers Qatar's 240 V, 50 Hz supply, although the plug and socket arrangement should still be checked on site. The ambient operating range is 0-40°C, with humidity from 0-95% relative humidity, non-condensing. Summer temperatures in Qatar can exceed 45°C, so the hub belongs in an air-conditioned room and should not sit near a window or in an unventilated cabinet. Confirm the room temperature with your facilities team before installation.

The unit weighs 0.86 kg and is surface mountable using the bracket supplied. Planning cable runs for the Ethernet ports, microphones and display before installation avoids rework.
