Devio UCX 2000
Biamp Devio UCX 2000 Android Meeting Room Hub
The Biamp Devio UCX 2000 is an Android meeting room hub that runs Microsoft Teams Rooms and pairs UC compute with Biamp DSP in one device. It powers its touch controller and extra room peripherals over PoE+ and USB. Built for medium and large boardrooms, lecture halls and training rooms across Doha, Lusail and Education City, it is a strong fit for Teams-based organisations. Request a quote.
What the Devio UCX 2000 does in a meeting room
The Devio UCX 2000 is an Android meeting room hub that brings room computing and audio processing into one unit. It runs Microsoft Teams Rooms for Android, so the call software lives on the hub itself rather than on a separate PC mounted in the room. Biamp digital signal processing runs on the same device, which keeps microphone and speaker processing out of extra boxes and cable runs.
The hub runs the Microsoft Device Ecosystem Platform (MDEP) based on Android 15. Its Qualcomm Dragonwing QCS6490 processor and 8 GB of memory carry the Teams Rooms workload. IT teams can manage it through Microsoft 365 Admin, Entra ID and Intune, alongside the Teams Admin Center and the Teams Rooms Pro Management Portal, while Biamp Workplace provides remote status monitoring for the wider room.
Audio processing that tunes itself
The built-in DSP applies AI noise reduction, AI reverb reduction, echo cancellation with residual echo reduction, and automatic level control. These functions matter most in rooms with hard surfaces and long tables, where voices bounce around and remote participants struggle to follow the discussion.
Biamp Launch carries out an automated setup and room tuning process and produces Report Cards that record the results. Organisations fitting out several rooms can use those records to show that each room was tuned, rather than relying on memory.
Expanding the room and powering it from one source
The hub can orchestrate a larger room setup: the Apprimo Touch 10 UCX controller, a video conferencing bar or standalone camera, additional room microphones and ceiling loudspeakers. Power is distributed through the hub. Ethernet port 2 supplies 30 W PoE+ to the touch controller, ports 3 and 4 each provide isolated 30 W PoE+ for network media, and the USB-C port delivers 60 W Power Delivery to Parle ABC and VBC conferencing bars. Total consumption stays under 210 W.
- Display: one HDMI 2.0 output at 4K 60Hz
- Inputs: USB-C for content sharing and BYOM at 4K 30Hz, HDMI input at 1080p 60Hz or 4K 30Hz, and a 3.5mm aux analog input
- Network: 100/1000 primary LAN, Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ac, 2x2 MIMO), Bluetooth BLE 5.3 for proximity join
- Ports: three USB 3.0 Type-A ports and one USB-C port
Where it fits in Qatar
A boardroom in West Bay where executives join calls with overseas partners is a strong match. The hub hosts the Teams Rooms session, echo cancellation keeps speech intelligible along a long table, and the touch controller gives the meeting chair a panel for managing the call.
A seminar room in Education City can use the USB-C and HDMI inputs for lecturers' laptops while remote speakers appear on the conferencing bar. The 3.5mm assistive listening output can be configured for a near or far end mix, which helps listeners who use assistive listening devices.
A hotel conference room in Lusail hosting hybrid client meetings benefits from a single power plan. The hub feeds PoE+ and USB power to its peripherals, so the installer manages one point of power rather than several adaptors.
Planning the installation
The hub measures 206 mm wide and 206 mm deep, stands 37.3 mm high and weighs 0.86 kg, so it fits in an AV cabinet or credenza. Plan cable routes for the PoE ports, the USB-C connection and the display before fitting. The operating range is 0 to 40°C with 0 to 98 percent non-condensing humidity, up to 2,000 m altitude, so it belongs in an air-conditioned room. Summer temperatures outdoors in Doha can pass 45°C, so keep it out of unconditioned spaces.
The power supply accepts 100 to 240 V at 50 or 60 Hz, which covers Qatar mains at 240 V and 50 Hz. Security features include Secure Boot, signed firmware updates, 802.1X network access, WPA3 Wi-Fi and proxy server support. The manufacturer's warranty is 3 years.
