What the Devio UCX 3000 is

The Biamp Devio UCX 3000 is a meeting room hub that runs Android on the Microsoft Device Ecosystem Platform (MDEP), based on Android 15. It acts as the compute core of a room, running Microsoft Teams Rooms for Android or Zoom Rooms Appliance, and it handles the video outputs, audio processing and touch-controller connections from a single unit measuring 206 mm wide, 206 mm deep and 37.3 mm high.

The unit weighs 0.86 kg, so it can sit in a credenza or equipment cabinet without taking up much space. Its Qualcomm Dragonwing QCS8550 processor and 16 GB of memory give it four times the processing power of the UCX 1000 and UCX 2000, according to the manufacturer, which leaves more headroom for AI-driven meeting features.

Audio processing built into the hub

Onboard Biamp DSP processes the room audio, so the conferencing bar, microphones and loudspeakers work as one system. The processing includes:

• AI noise reduction and AI reverb reduction
• Echo cancellation with residual echo reduction
• Automatic level control
• Automated setup and room tuning through Biamp Launch

The hub can manage up to four additional room microphones and eight ceiling loudspeakers. A 3.5 mm stereo assistive listening output with a configurable near/far end mix and a 3.5 mm stereo aux input for in-room content playback are also included.

Two displays and the connections behind them

Two HDMI 2.0 outputs with CEC drive dual screens at 4K 60Hz, or at 5K2K 30Hz in ultra-wide format. A USB-C input supports content sharing and a BYOM switch, with DisplayPort 1.4a Alt Mode up to 4K 30Hz. The HDMI input supports content sharing at 1080p 60Hz or 4K 30Hz.

Networking starts with a primary Ethernet port at 100/1000. Three further Ethernet ports are PoE+ rated at 30W each: one powers the Apprimo Touch 10 UCX touch controller, and two are isolated for network media devices. Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ac, 2x2 MIMO), Bluetooth LE 5.3 for proximity join and three USB 3.0 ports complete the list.

Where it fits in Qatar

• A boardroom in West Bay or Msheireb with two large screens, linking Microsoft Teams Rooms sessions with colleagues in Europe or Asia while onboard processing handles echo and background noise.

Confirm the operating environment first. The listed ambient range is 0 to 40°C (32 to 104°F), with humidity from 0 to 98% non-condensing and an altitude rating of 0 to 2,000 m. Summer temperatures outside in Qatar can pass 45°C, so the hub belongs in an air-conditioned room or a ventilated cabinet that keeps it inside that range.

Map the cabling before installation. The touch controller and network media devices need PoE+ runs from the hub, and the USB-C port supplies 60W PD to Parle ABC and VBC conferencing bars. Power consumption is listed as under 210W. The listed mains rating of 100-240 VAC, 50/60 Hz covers Qatar's 240 V, 50 Hz supply, and the quotation will confirm the power arrangement for your room.
