Overview
The Biamp EasyConnect USB-C Adapter (910-00218) is a 3-in-1 connection unit for meeting rooms. One USB-C cable carries up to 90W of laptop charging, 4K HDMI output at 60Hz, a USB 3.0 port at up to 5 Gbps and integrated audio. It is fully compatible with the EasyConnect MPX 100 and suits Doha offices, schools and boardrooms running laptop-based meetings.
What the adapter does in a meeting room
The Biamp EasyConnect USB-C Adapter, model 910-00218, combines three jobs in one USB-C connection. It supplies power to the laptop, carries video to a display and provides a USB 3.0 data path, so a presenter plugs in once rather than juggling a charger, a display lead and a peripheral cable. It belongs to the EasyConnect series and is built for meeting and conference AV, where the laptop is the centre of the session.
Power, video and data figures that matter for planning
Power delivery to the laptop is rated at up to 90W, drawn from a connected power supply. The HDMI output reaches 4K resolution (3840x2160) at 60Hz, enough for detailed slides and shared spreadsheets on a large panel. The USB 3.0 port transfers data at up to 5 Gbps. Integrated audio support is included, and signals can travel both ways, so a camera and microphone connected to the adapter can feed the laptop over the same USB-C link.
The protection and regulation figures are useful for IT teams. Input voltage is 5-20V, power efficiency is at least 90%, the USB output is rated at 0.9A maximum, and the device includes overcurrent protection above 1.5A on USB and above 5A on power delivery. Short circuit protection recovers automatically, and voltage regulation is specified at ±5% accuracy.
Where it fits across Qatar
A corporate boardroom in West Bay or Msheireb, where executives bring their own laptops and join calls with teams abroad, benefits from a single cable running from the laptop to the room's AV system. A government ministry meeting room in Doha can keep one standard connection for every presenter using a Windows, Mac or Linux laptop. In Education City, a university or training centre can equip several seminar rooms with the same connection so lecturers do not reconfigure equipment between sessions.
Heat needs care. The adapter is rated for indoor use with an operating range of -20°C to +40°C, and humidity from 20% to 90% non-condensing. Summer temperatures in Qatar can climb above 45°C outside, so install it inside the air-conditioned room, not in an outdoor cabinet, a sun-exposed window area or a hot equipment cupboard.
What to plan before you order
- Check that the laptops in use have USB-C ports that support DisplayPort Alt Mode and power delivery.
- Confirm the display or room system input that receives the HDMI output.
- Plan the wall mount using the included wall mount plate, and keep the cable run short and tidy.
- Agree with the SmartRooms Qatar team which power supply is included in your quotation.
- Book a free site survey for rooms with complex cable routes or existing AV racks.

What is the Biamp EasyConnect USB-C Adapter used for?
It is a 3-in-1 USB-C adapter for meeting and conference AV. One USB-C cable powers the laptop, sends HDMI video out to a display and provides a USB 3.0 data connection, so presenters connect once. It suits boardrooms, ministry meeting rooms and training rooms in Doha where laptops are the main source for presentations and video calls.
How much power does it deliver to a laptop?
The adapter supplies up to 90W to the laptop over USB-C, with the power drawn from a connected power supply. Power efficiency is at least 90%, and the input voltage range is 5-20V. Confirm with the SmartRooms Qatar team which power supply is included in your quotation before you order.
What display resolution does it support?
The HDMI output supports up to 4K resolution at 3840x2160 with a 60Hz refresh rate. That is suitable for sharp slides and shared documents on a large display. Check that your display or room system has a matching HDMI input before you specify the number of units for each room.
Which operating systems work with it?
The manufacturer data lists support for Mac OS X 10.2 and later, Windows and Linux. A boardroom mixing Windows and Mac laptops can use the same adapter for each presenter. During planning, check the USB-C ports on each laptop in your fleet to confirm they match the adapter's requirements.
Is it compatible with the EasyConnect MPX 100?
Yes. The manufacturer data states the adapter is fully compatible with the EasyConnect MPX 100. That makes it a natural fit for an existing EasyConnect setup or a new room built around that product. Tell the SmartRooms Qatar team which MPX 100 units you already have so the quotation matches your setup.
Can a camera and microphone connect through it?
Yes. Bidirectional AV signals allow peripherals such as a camera and microphone to send signals back to the laptop over the same USB-C cable that powers the laptop and carries the display path. This keeps a conference table to one cable run from the laptop, which simplifies setup for hybrid meetings with teams abroad.
Can I install it in a hot area or outdoors?
No. The adapter is rated for indoor use only, with an operating temperature of -20°C to +40°C and humidity of 20-90% non-condensing. Summer temperatures in Qatar can exceed 45°C, so keep it inside an air-conditioned room rather than an outdoor cabinet, a hot lobby window or a vehicle.
How is it mounted?
A wall mount plate is included with the adapter. Plan its position beside or behind the display so the USB-C cable and HDMI lead reach without strain. The source describes the unit as hot-swappable, meaning it can be connected or disconnected while the system is in use, which is practical when a unit needs replacing.
What protections does it have?
The adapter includes overcurrent protection above 1.5A on USB and above 5A on power delivery, plus short circuit protection that recovers automatically once a fault clears. Voltage regulation is specified at ±5% accuracy. These limits guard the USB and power delivery circuits against electrical faults during daily use.
What is the warranty on this model?
The manufacturer data specifies a 5-year warranty for this model, and products sold by SmartRooms Qatar are covered by the manufacturer's warranty. Ask the SmartRooms Qatar team to confirm the warranty details in writing with your quotation before you place an order.
How do schools and government bodies order several units?
Schools and government bodies can order by LPO, and government tenders through Monaqasat are accepted. Send the number of rooms and laptop types, and the SmartRooms Qatar team will usually return a quotation within one working day. A free site survey can also be arranged before installing units across several rooms.
