A ceiling-suspended conferencing bar for open-ceiling rooms

The Biamp Parlé CBC 2500 CM is an all-in-one conferencing audio bar that hangs from the ceiling rather than sitting on a wall or table. Two suspension cables hold it in place, decorative covers finish the cable runs, and the room keeps its wall and table space. This is the cable-mount version, item number 920-01899-00001.

Microphone and audio facts that matter in a meeting room

The 27-element digital array uses Beamtracking to follow voices as people move, blending speech into one natural pickup without manual beam setup. Pickup reaches more than 7 m (23 feet) at a 25 dBA noise floor, and the microphone signal-to-noise ratio is rated at 69 dB. AI noise reduction removes HVAC hum and typing noise, while acoustic echo cancellation stops feedback loops during UC calls.

Two smart speakers, each with a 60 mm full-range driver, handle playback. Nominal beamwidth is 180° x 180°, and the rated maximum output is 90 dB continuous and 96 dB peak at 1 m. A 3.5 mm mono balanced assistive listening feed supports rooms that must serve participants with hearing needs.

Installation planning for a suspended bar

The kit includes a mounting plate with centre plug, two 3 m aircraft cables, two quick-connect cable grippers, two lag-screw eye bolts, two 1 m decorative cable covers, a 10 m USB 3.0 cable and a 10 m power extender. The bar measures 940 mm wide, 100 mm high and 64 mm deep, and weighs 4.4 kg (9.6 lbs). Check the ceiling structure and the spacing of the suspension points before fixing. SmartRooms Qatar offers free site surveys, and we recommend one for every suspended installation.

Where it fits in Qatar

Open-plan meeting rooms in Lusail or West Bay: the ceiling is often the only clear surface, and glass walls or wall displays leave no room for a soundbar.
Seminar and tutorial rooms in Education City: the wall stays free for a whiteboard or screen while lecturers join Microsoft Teams or Zoom calls with colleagues overseas.
Ministry meeting rooms in Msheireb: one bar certified for both Teams and Zoom covers hybrid meetings held during the Sunday to Thursday working week.

Heat, power and operating conditions

The operating temperature range is 0 to 40°C (32 to 104°F), humidity 0 to 90% non-condensing, and altitude up to 3,000 m. Qatar summer temperatures can exceed 45°C, so the bar belongs in air-conditioned rooms only, and cooling capacity should be checked with the installer before fixing. Power comes from USB-C at 60W or from the external supply, rated 100-240 VAC at 50/60 Hz, which covers Qatar's 240 V, 50 Hz mains. Confirm the plug type for your site with the SmartRooms Qatar team.

Send us the room size, ceiling type and the platform you use, and our team will confirm the kit and the site survey. Quotations are usually provided within one working day. Purchase orders (LPOs), government tenders including Monaqasat, and payment by bank transfer, cheque or purchase order are all accepted. The bar is covered by the manufacturer's 3-year warranty. Request a quote for the Biamp Parlé CBC 2500 CM and we will confirm delivery to your municipality.

Questions about Parlé CBC 2500 CM

What is the Biamp Parlé CBC 2500 CM used for?

It is a ceiling-mounted, all-in-one conferencing audio bar for meeting rooms where walls and tables must stay clear. It combines a 27-element microphone array, two full-range smart speakers and LED mute indicators in one unit, and it is certified for Microsoft Teams and Zoom. It suits small offices in Al Sadd as well as larger boardrooms in West Bay. Request a quote to confirm the right size for your room.

How far does the microphone pick up voices?

The 27-element digital array has a pickup range of more than 7 m (23 feet) at a 25 dBA noise floor, using active beamforming. Beamtracking follows people as they move around the table, so participants at the far end stay audible without manual setup. This matters in long meetings where attendees move between the table and the whiteboard.

Does it cancel echo and background noise during calls?

Yes. Integrated acoustic echo cancellation prevents feedback loops during unified communications meetings. The AI noise reduction filter also reduces HVAC hum, typing noise and other environmental sounds. The microphone signal-to-noise ratio is rated at 69 dB. This is useful in Doha offices where air conditioning runs for most of the day and background hum is constant.

Is it certified for Microsoft Teams and Zoom?

Yes. The manufacturer data lists the bar as Microsoft Teams Certified and Zoom Certified. Organisations that standardise on one platform often want to confirm the setup matches their policy, so SmartRooms Qatar can review your connection requirements when you request a quote. If your organisation uses both platforms, one bar can serve the same room for either.

Can it be wall-mounted or placed on a table?

This model is designed for ceiling mounting using two aircraft cables and a mounting plate. It measures 940 mm wide, 100 mm high and 64 mm deep, and weighs 4.4 kg (9.6 lbs). The manufacturer data does not cover wall or table placement, so confirm with the SmartRooms Qatar team before planning any layout other than ceiling suspension.

What is included in the box?

The kit includes the Parlé ABC 2500 bar, a mounting plate with centre plug, two 3 m aircraft cables, two quick-connect cable grippers, two lag-screw eye bolts, two 1 m decorative cable covers, a 10 m USB 3.0 cable and a 10 m power extender. Check the contents against your ceiling plan before installation day so that nothing is missing when the crew arrives.

What should be checked in the ceiling before installation?

Check that the ceiling structure can carry 4.4 kg, that the suspension points are spaced to suit the 940 mm width, and that the lag-screw eye bolts are suitable for the ceiling material. SmartRooms Qatar offers free site surveys, which are especially useful when drawings of the ceiling are not available. Request a quote after the survey so the kit and installation are confirmed together.

Can it run in an unair-conditioned summer space?

No. The operating range is 0 to 40°C (32 to 104°F), with humidity from 0 to 90% non-condensing. Summer temperatures in Qatar can exceed 45°C, so use the bar only in air-conditioned rooms and check cooling capacity with your installer. Lobbies, corridors and rooms with large windows facing the sun need particular attention before fixing the unit.

Does the power supply work on Qatar's 240 V mains?

Yes. The external power supply accepts 100-240 VAC at 50/60 Hz and outputs 12 VDC at 4.74 A, which covers Qatar's 240 V, 50 Hz supply. The bar can also be powered through its USB-C port rated at 60W. Confirm the plug type required for your site with SmartRooms Qatar when you request a quote.

What warranty applies and what does SmartRooms Qatar provide?

The bar is backed by a 3-year manufacturer warranty. SmartRooms Qatar supplies the unit, delivers to all eight municipalities of Qatar, arranges professional installation and issues quotations usually within one working day. Purchase orders (LPOs) and government tenders, including Monaqasat, are accepted, with payment by bank transfer, cheque or purchase order.

Is it suitable for lecture and seminar rooms at a university in Education City?

Yes, for open-ceiling lecture and seminar rooms that are air-conditioned. The two loudspeakers are rated at 90 dB continuous and 96 dB peak at 1 m, and the 3.5 mm assistive listening feed helps rooms that need hearing access. Institutions buying several units can raise a purchase order, and SmartRooms Qatar can quote for multiple rooms together.

Can it be installed in an existing meeting room without changing the ceiling?

Installation depends on the ceiling structure and the points where the eye bolts can be fixed. The data lists a mounting plate, aircraft cables and lag-screw eye bolts, but it does not describe ceiling types that suit them without modification. A free site survey from SmartRooms Qatar will show whether the existing ceiling works or whether additional support is needed before you request a quote.
