What the Parlé PS-12-60 powers

The Parlé PS-12-60 is a 12V, 60W power supply that Biamp offers as an optional accessory for three conferencing bars in the Parlé range: the ABC 2500a, the VBC 2500a and the VBC 2800. It is not a display or camera, so it is relevant only where one of these bars is installed or planned.

Where it fits in Qatar

A boardroom in West Bay or Msheireb that relies on a supported Parlé bar may need a spare supply so the room can be restored quickly after a fault. An education client in Education City or Al Sadd fitting out several AV rooms can use one item number to standardise replacement stock. Facilities teams managing meeting rooms across a ministry or corporate campus in Doha can list the item number on a single purchase order.

Questions about Parlé PS-12-60

Which Parlé bars is the PS-12-60 designed to power?

The Parlé PS-12-60 is listed as an optional power supply for three Parlé conferencing bars: the ABC 2500a, the VBC 2500a and the VBC 2800. If your room uses a different bar, this unit is not listed for it, so confirm the bar model before ordering. SmartRooms Qatar can check your bar model against item number 920-01897-00001 as part of the quotation process.

What is the output rating of this power supply?

It is a 12V, 60W unit, which means it is rated to deliver 12 volts at up to 60 watts. The source data does not list the input voltage range, efficiency or cable length, so check those details in the manufacturer documentation before installation. Our team can confirm the remaining specifications for your model when you request a quote.

Why does the screw lock connector matter?

The screw lock connector is designed to secure the power connection, so the plug is less likely to work loose when cables are moved or when equipment is serviced. In a meeting room where a bar sits above a display, a secure connection reduces the risk of an unexpected power interruption during an important call. Confirm the connector type with your installer during the site survey.

Is this the right supply for a Parlé VBC 2800 in a boardroom?

If the boardroom bar is a VBC 2800, this unit is one of the three models it is listed for. Check first whether your bar already came with a supply or whether you need an additional unit. Boardrooms in West Bay or Msheireb often depend on one bar for every executive meeting, so keeping a compatible spare on file can prevent a cancelled session.

Can I use this power supply with other conferencing bars?

The source data names only the ABC 2500a, VBC 2500a and VBC 2800, so compatibility with any other bar is not confirmed. Substituting a different 12V supply without verification can cause a mismatch in voltage or connector fit. Ask SmartRooms Qatar to verify your bar model before you order, especially if you manage a mixed fleet of conferencing equipment.

How could a school in Education City or Al Sadd use this unit?

A school fitting out several meeting or classroom AV spaces with supported Parlé bars can use one item number across all compatible rooms. This keeps purchasing and spare-parts records simple for the facilities team. Confirm that each room uses one of the three listed bar models before you add the unit to a purchase order, because the supply is not listed for other models.

What warranty does this unit carry?

The product data states a 5-year warranty from the manufacturer. Detailed warranty terms and claim steps are set by Biamp and are not covered on this page. Keep your purchase order and item number 920-01897-00001 with your asset records so that any warranty claim can be matched to the correct unit and installation date.

Do I need a site survey before ordering?

For a single power supply, a survey is not always necessary, but SmartRooms Qatar offers free site surveys that check where the supply will sit relative to the bar and the nearest power outlet. This is useful in ministry or government buildings, where cable routing and access must be approved before work begins. You can request a survey when you ask for a quotation.

Can SmartRooms Qatar supply this unit against a government tender?

Yes. SmartRooms Qatar accepts purchase orders (LPOs) and government tenders, including Monaqasat, and delivers to all 8 municipalities of Qatar. Include the full model name Parlé PS-12-60 and item number 920-01897-00001 in your tender documents so the correct unit is quoted. Quotations are usually issued within one working day.

Will this power supply work on Qatar's 240 V mains?

The source data does not state the input voltage range of this power supply, so compatibility with Qatar's 240 V, 50 Hz mains and BS 1363 (Type G) sockets cannot be confirmed from the data. Check the input specification in the manufacturer documentation before connecting the unit. SmartRooms Qatar can confirm this for your installation when you request a quote.

Can I install this power supply myself?

You can, provided the bar model is one of the three listed and you follow the manufacturer documentation. SmartRooms Qatar also provides professional installation across Qatar, where a technician can confirm the bar model, check the screw lock connection and test the supply before the room returns to service. This is particularly useful for boardrooms and lecture theatres with tight access.

How do I request a quote for this unit?

Send SmartRooms Qatar your bar model, the item number 920-01897-00001, the quantity required and your delivery location. Quotations are usually issued within one working day. Mention whether you will issue a purchase order (LPO) or are responding to a tender, so the quotation matches your procurement process.
