What the Parlé DTM-X White is

The Parlé DTM-X White is a tabletop conferencing microphone from the Biamp Parlé series, designed specifically for Devio UCX meeting room systems. Its white finish, item number 920-00029-20000, suits light-coloured tables and bright conference rooms. The black version is a separate item, 920-00029-10000.

The microphone measures 110 mm in diameter and 18 mm in height. It connects to a network box measuring 106 mm wide, 106 mm deep and 23 mm high, which handles audio processing and can sit out of view beneath the table. The microphone weighs 231 g and the network box weighs 310 g.

Beamtracking pickup for real meetings

A 16-element digital array forms a beamformed pickup pattern, and beamtracking follows the active talker as the discussion moves around the table. Four independently controlled zones provide full 360° pickup. Because auto-mixing tracks conversation on its own, there is no lobe aiming or room mapping during setup, which keeps commissioning simple for IT and AV teams.

Performance is specified as a frequency response of 150 Hz to 16 kHz within ±3 dB, a dynamic range of 90 dB A-weighted at THD+N below 10%, and a maximum SPL of 109 dB at 0.5% THD. For a longer table, one DTM-XEX expansion microphone can be connected to the RJ-45 port on the network box, adding coverage for a second position.

Cabling, power and operating conditions

• A single CAT5 cable links the microphone to the network box, which carries audio, control and DSP processing.
• The network box is powered over Ethernet to IEEE 802.3at Class 3, drawing up to 15.4 W, so the switch port must provide PoE.
• An LED mute status indicator gives participants clear visual feedback during active meetings.
• A green, yellow and red power LED shows the network box status.

The network box is rated for ambient temperatures of 0 to 40°C (32 to 104°F), 0 to 95% relative humidity without condensation, and altitudes up to 3,000 m. Summer temperatures in Doha can climb above 45°C, which is beyond that rating, so the network box should sit inside an air-conditioned room away from windows that take direct sun. Optional accessories include the TTM-X-SM secure mounting bracket (part 910-00521) and a 16 mm table grommet with a 7 mm inside diameter, available in white as part 920-00524-10000.
