UCC-Lenovo TSC-IP-MTR

A discontinued Teams Rooms compute and controller

This model is discontinued. Biamp has stopped selling the UCC-Lenovo TSC-IP-MTR, so this page is written for organisations that already run it, buyers comparing it with newer equipment, and anyone looking for a replacement. SmartRooms Qatar can quote a current equivalent or a compatible replacement for the same room.

The kit has two parts. The UC Compute unit runs Microsoft Teams Rooms on Windows 11 IoT Enterprise and handles the calls. The Lenovo ThinkSmart IP controller is the touch panel that sits on the table or wall. The two connect over a CAT5e cable to a ThinkSmart Link box, and the controller draws its power over that Ethernet connection.

Specifications that shape the purchase

• Compute: 11th Gen Intel Core vPro i5-1145G7E, 16GB DDR4-3200 dual-channel memory and a 256GB M.2 SSD
• Controller display: 10.1-inch, 1280 x 800, 16:10, with 10-point multi-touch and an anti-fingerprint finish
• Presence sensing: IR sensors detect people in the room and switch the system on or off
• Connectivity: Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11ax wireless, Bluetooth 5.0, HDMI-in for screen sharing and two HDMI-out ports on the compute unit
• Certifications: FCC Part 15B, CE, UKCA, UL and cUL, plus Microsoft Teams Certified

Matching the kit to a Qatar meeting room

Biamp pairs this compute unit with Parlé conferencing bars for huddle, small and medium rooms. For larger spaces, the source data points to Tesira and Devio Room bundles, which add stronger audio and conferencing capability. A Biamp plug-in lets the ThinkSmart controller manage the room inside the native Teams interface, and the system integrates with Biamp Impera room control for more advanced control.

Three situations show where it fits. A consultancy in West Bay could use it in a medium boardroom where executives join calls with teams abroad. A training centre in Msheireb could equip a small training room where the trainer shares slides from a laptop through HDMI. A company in Al Sadd with several floors could fit out a row of huddle rooms, each with its own controller and a standard network outlet.

What to plan before ordering

The UC Compute weighs 1.1 kg and measures 226 mm wide, 200 mm deep and 37.5 mm high. It includes a VESA mount kit and integrated cable management, and it has a Kensington security slot. The controller measures 251.5 mm wide, 160 mm deep and 99 mm high, and the link box measures 210 mm wide, 96 mm deep and 27 mm high. Allow for each of these when choosing mounting positions.

The power adapter is rated 90 watts with 100-240V autosensing input, which covers Qatar's 240 V, 50 Hz supply. The source data does not list the plug type for Qatar, so the quotation will confirm the adapter arrangement. No operating temperature range is published for this model, so confirm the room environment with the SmartRooms Qatar team before fitting it near a window or in a space that gets very hot in summer.
