Overview

The Hikvision iDS-UVC-P32 is a 2 MP auto tracking PTZ camera built for video conferencing rooms. It offers 20x optical zoom, human body following, a quad-microphone array with noise reduction, and 120 dB wide dynamic range. Power comes over a single PoE cable, and USB Type-C provides plug-and-play video to a conferencing PC. Suited to meeting rooms and training rooms in Doha. Request a quote from SmartRooms Qatar.

What the iDS-UVC-P32 does in a meeting room

The Hikvision iDS-UVC-P32 is a PTZ conference camera built around a 1/2.8-inch 2 MP CMOS sensor that outputs 1920 × 1080 video. Its lens provides 20× optical zoom, equivalent to a focal length of 23.8 mm to 476 mm, with 16× digital zoom on top and autofocus. In practice, one camera can capture a wide view of a long table, then tighten onto a presenter at the whiteboard without a second device.

Human body following is the smart function that keeps a moving presenter in frame. Pan covers -165° to 165° and tilt covers -90° to 30°, so one mounting point can take in a large part of a room. Up to five custom scene presets can be set up, and camera parameters can be adjusted with the 2.4 GHz remote control.

Audio and image quality for speech

The built-in quad-microphone array uses MEMS elements with 360° omni-directional pickup within a radius of up to 5 m. Noise reduction, automatic gain control and ambient noise suppression work together to make voices clearer, which matters when the camera sits at the back of a room. The 120 dB wide dynamic range keeps faces visible when a bright window sits behind the speaker.

Connections for conferencing and AV systems

A single USB Type-C cable carries video and audio to a computer over USB 2.0, and it works plug-and-play without installing driver software. Supported systems are Windows 7 to 11, macOS 10.12 and later, Linux 4.14 and later, and Android 8.1 and later. For AV installations, the unit also provides HDMI, HDBT and 3G-SDI outputs for live view, plus a 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ45 port with ONVIF and SDK support. For control systems, RS-232 supports VISCA and RS-485 supports HIKVISION, PELCO-D and PELCO-P, with 255 presets on each.

Where it fits in Qatar

  • Boardroom in West Bay or Lusail: a camera on the back wall frames the chair and presenter, while a PC connected by USB Type-C runs the video call with teams in Doha and abroad.
  • Lecture room in Education City: the HDMI or 3G-SDI output feeds a recording or streaming setup, while tracking keeps the lecturer in view.
  • Training room for a government office in Msheireb: saved presets return the framing to the same settings for recurring sessions.

What to plan before ordering

Confirm the room environment first. The operating range is -10 °C to 45 °C with humidity of 90% or less and no condensation. Qatar summers can push ambient temperatures above 45 °C, so keep the camera inside an air-conditioned room and confirm the location with the SmartRooms Qatar team before installation.

Plan the power route. The camera runs from 12 VDC or from PoE (IEEE 802.3at, Class 4, max 23.1 W). The adapter ships with American, British and European plug adapters, so confirm the plug arrangement for Qatar's 240 V supply before installation. The camera measures 206.7 × 163.3 × 227.9 mm and weighs about 4,110 g with packaging, so the bracket must be fixed to a secure surface. SmartRooms Qatar offers free site surveys to check sightlines, mounting height and cable routes.

For schools or government offices ordering several units, a purchase order (LPO) can be raised, and payment is possible by bank transfer, cheque or purchase order. Request a quote from SmartRooms Qatar, usually answered within one working day, and the quotation will confirm the lead time. The product is covered by the manufacturer's warranty.

Questions about iDS-UVC-P32

What is the Hikvision iDS-UVC-P32 used for?
The iDS-UVC-P32 is an auto tracking PTZ camera for video conferencing and presentation rooms. It combines a 2 MP sensor outputting 1920 × 1080, 20× optical zoom and human body following, so the framing follows the speaker. It suits meeting rooms, boardrooms and training rooms where one person presents and remote participants need a clear view of the room.
Which room sizes suit this model rather than a smaller camera?
The 20× optical zoom, with an equivalent focal length of 23.8 mm to 476 mm, suits larger rooms where the camera sits far from the speaker. In Qatar that could mean a lecture hall in Education City or a conference room in a West Bay hotel, where a wide-only camera would make the presenter too small on screen. For a compact meeting room, a shorter-reach model may be enough, and SmartRooms Qatar can advise.
How does the human body following feature work?
Human body following is the smart function that keeps a moving person in frame, useful when a presenter walks across a stage or a whiteboard. The data lists it as the smart function for this model. Pan and tilt ranges of -165° to 165° and -90° to 30° give the camera room to follow. Confirm the framing for your room with the SmartRooms Qatar team during the site survey.
How good is the audio pickup?
The built-in quad-microphone array offers 360° omni-directional pickup within a radius of up to 5 m. Noise reduction, automatic gain control and ambient noise suppression are included. The microphone frequency response is 100 Hz to 8 kHz with a 64 dB(A) SNR. Check the room layout against the 5 m pickup radius during the site survey, especially for long tables where speakers sit far from the camera.
Can it connect to a laptop without installing drivers?
Yes. The USB Type-C port uses USB 2.0 and is plug-and-play, with no driver software needed. Supported operating systems are Windows 7, 8, 10 and 11, macOS 10.12 and later, Linux 4.14 and later, and Android 8.1 and later. The package includes a 4.5 m USB 2.0 cable, which sets the direct cable length you can plan for between the camera and the computer.
Can it be powered over Ethernet?
Yes. The camera supports PoE under IEEE 802.3at Class 4 with a maximum draw of 23.1 W, so a single network cable can carry power and the camera's network connection. Alternatively, it runs from a 12 VDC adapter with a 1.2 m cable, and a 3 m extension cable is included. Check that the PoE switch in your comms room provides Class 4 power before ordering.
Which video outputs and network protocols does it support for AV systems?
It provides HDMI, HDBT and 3G-SDI outputs for live view, along with the USB Type-C port. On the network side it has one RJ45 port at 10/100/1000 Mbps, supports ONVIF and SDK, and streams H.264, H.265 and MJPEG across main, sub and third streams. Confirm the recorder, streaming encoder or switcher in your system with the SmartRooms Qatar team before ordering.
Can a control system or keypad manage it?
Yes. The RS-232 port supports the VISCA protocol, and the RS-485 port supports HIKVISION, PELCO-D and PELCO-P. Both ports handle PTZ control, zoom control, preset setting, calling and deletion, with up to 255 presets. RS-485 baud rates run from 2400 to 38400, with a default of 9600. Confirm which protocol your control processor uses so the wiring and driver match.
Will it cope with Qatar's summer heat?
The operating range is -10 °C to 45 °C, with humidity of 90% or less and no condensation. Qatar's summer can push temperatures above 45 °C, so the camera should sit inside an air-conditioned room, not in a hot corridor or a window-facing spot without shading. The data does not give an outdoor rating, so confirm the mounting location with the SmartRooms Qatar team before ordering.
What should I check before mounting it on a wall or ceiling?
Check the dimensions of 206.7 × 163.3 × 227.9 mm and the weight of about 4,110 g with packaging against your mounting surface. The package includes a bracket and screws. The head pans from -165° to 165°, so allow clear space around it. SmartRooms Qatar offers free site surveys to check sightlines, mounting height and cable routes before installation.
How do I buy several units for a school or government office?
Send your requirement and the number of units, and SmartRooms Qatar will issue a quotation, usually within one working day. Schools and government offices can raise a purchase order (LPO), and payment can be made by bank transfer, cheque or purchase order. Government tenders, including Monaqasat, are also supported. Lead times are estimates confirmed with the quotation, based on stock.
Is the camera covered by a warranty, and what is in the box?
The product is covered by the manufacturer's warranty. Ask the SmartRooms Qatar team for the warranty terms when you receive your quotation. The box includes the camera with lens cover, a remote control, two batteries, a power adapter with American, British and European plug adapters, a 3 m extension cable, a 4.5 m USB 2.0 cable, a bracket, screws and the regulatory information sheet.
