PanaCast Control

A 10.1-inch controller built for Teams and Zoom meeting rooms

The Jabra PanaCast Control is a dedicated touchscreen controller for meeting rooms that run Microsoft Teams Rooms or Zoom Rooms software. Its 10.1-inch LCD uses a landscape layout with a 1920 x 1200 resolution and a 16:10 aspect ratio, giving staff a clear panel for starting calls, adjusting room settings and joining scheduled meetings with one touch. It is a control unit for the room, not a display for presentations.

Specifications that matter for a meeting room

The screen supports 10-point capacitive multitouch and has an anti-fingerprint, anti-glare coating, which keeps it readable under bright ceiling lights and reduces smudges from frequent use. A PIR motion sensor wakes the unit when someone walks into the room, so the controller is ready before the first person sits down. Power and data share a single Ethernet cable through IEEE 802.3af Power over Ethernet, and a PoE power injector is included for networks without PoE-enabled ports.

Connectivity covers USB-C, an RJ45 Ethernet port, Bluetooth 5.1 and Wi-Fi. The unit is certified for Microsoft Teams Rooms and Zoom Rooms and supports native third-party room applications, including Microsoft Teams Room for Android and Zoom Room. Administrators can manage it through a web console over HTTPS and through the Microsoft Teams Admin Center and Zoom Device Management. A Kensington lock slot is fitted, and cable exits are available at the centre or horizontally.

Where it fits in Qatar

• A boardroom in West Bay: an executive team holding short back-to-back meetings can start and join calls from one screen, while the motion sensor wakes the room when the first person arrives.
• A ministry meeting room in Msheireb: a procurement team equipping several rooms can standardise on one controller, issue a single LPO or tender, and plan each room during a free site survey.
• A training centre in Al Sadd: small rooms running hybrid sessions with trainers abroad benefit from a controller that handles call control without tying up a laptop.

What to plan before installation

Start with the network. Confirm whether each room's switch port supplies IEEE 802.3af PoE; if it does not, the included PoE injector sits between the switch and the controller. The package contains two 4.57 m (15 ft) Ethernet cables, so measure the distance from each network point to the table position before ordering, and plan cable routing around the available exits.

Environment matters in Qatar. The operating range is 5 to 35 °C (41 to 95 °F) with humidity between 15 and 80 percent, while summer temperatures outdoors can exceed 45 °C. Install the unit only in air-conditioned indoor rooms, away from windows that receive direct sun and entrances that open onto hot, dusty air. Storage is rated from -20 to 60 °C.

The injector connects to mains through the regional power cable in the box. Ask the SmartRooms Qatar team to confirm that this cable suits the BS 1363 (Type G) sockets used in Qatar before installation. SmartRooms Qatar offers free site surveys, professional installation and delivery to all 8 municipalities of Qatar. Quotations are usually issued within one working day, and purchase orders and government tenders are accepted. The product is covered by the manufacturer's warranty.
