Overview
The Jabra USB-C Active Cable is a black 5 m USB-C to USB-C cable built to the USB 3.2 Gen 1 standard and rated for 60 W Power Delivery. It suits BYOD meeting rooms where the presenter's laptop sits further from the PanaCast U30 video bar than a short cable reaches, while keeping the table tidy. Boardrooms and training rooms in Doha, Lusail and Education City can request a quote from SmartRooms Qatar.
What this 5 m active cable does in a BYOD meeting room
The Jabra 14402-12 is a 5 m USB-C to USB-C cable made for bring-your-own-device meetings. When the laptop has to sit further from the video bar than a short cable allows, this cable bridges the gap so the laptop still works with the bar and the desk stays uncluttered. It is supplied as a single black accessory and belongs to Jabra's video conferencing range.
Active cables contain electronics in the connector housing that support signal over longer runs than a basic passive cable can manage. That is why an active design is specified for a length like this one. Confirm the laptop port and video bar setup with the SmartRooms Qatar team before ordering in quantity.
Specifications that matter when you plan the cable run
- Length: 5 m (16.4 ft).
- Cable type: Active USB-C to USB-C, USB 3.2 Gen 1 standard.
- Power Delivery: rated at 60 W, so compare this with your laptop's charging requirement.
- Colour: black.
- Box contents: USB-C to USB-C cable, user documents and a magnetic cable holder.
- Warranty: 2-year limited hardware warranty from the manufacturer.
The magnetic cable holder helps manage surplus length under the table, which is useful when a cable is longer than the minimum route requires.
Where this cable fits in Qatar
In a boardroom in West Bay, the video bar often sits on the far wall while the executive seat is at the opposite end of a long table. A 5 m run lets the laptop stay at its seat while the bar keeps its position at the front of the room.
In a university training room in Education City, instructors may teach from a lectern set back from the screen wall. A cable of this length can connect the lectern laptop to the bar without trailing across the floor.
In a government meeting room in Msheireb, teams often hold sessions with colleagues abroad during the Sunday to Thursday working week. A tidy, cable-managed table makes it easier to keep the room presentable for every session.
Planning the route before you order
- Measure the route from the laptop position to the video bar along the table edge, floor box or cable tray, not the straight-line distance.
- Allow spare length at both ends for movement and for routing around furniture.
- Check that the route is clear of heat sources. The source data does not list an operating temperature for this cable, so ask the SmartRooms Qatar team to confirm suitability for any run near heat or outdoor exposure.
SmartRooms Qatar offers free site surveys, which help confirm the route and cable length before a quotation is issued.

Questions about USB-C Active Cable (USB-C to USB-C) - 3.2 Gen 1 (5m)
What is the Jabra 14402-12 cable used for?
It connects a presenter's laptop to the video bar in a BYOD meeting room when the laptop must sit further away than a standard cable reaches. The source data describes it as a way to extend the PanaCast U30 BYOD experience without compromising quality, while keeping the setup tidy.
How long is the cable, and will it reach a long boardroom table?
The cable is 5 m (16.4 ft) long. For a long boardroom table in West Bay or Lusail, measure the actual route along the table edge and through any floor box or tray, not the straight-line distance, and allow spare length at each end before you order.
Why is this an active cable rather than a standard USB-C cable?
The source data classes it as an active USB-C to USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 cable. Active cables include electronics that support signal over longer runs than a basic passive cable, which is why this design is specified for a 5 m length in a meeting room setting.
What does the 60 W Power Delivery rating mean for my laptop?
The cable is rated for 60 W Power Delivery. Before ordering, compare that figure with your laptop's charging requirement, because a laptop that needs more power than the rating will not charge at full speed through this cable. The SmartRooms Qatar team can help you check.
Is this cable compatible with the PanaCast U30 video bar?
The product is positioned as an extension for the PanaCast U30 BYOD experience, so it is intended for that type of setup. Confirm your laptop port type and the video bar configuration with the SmartRooms Qatar team before ordering several units for the same room.
What is included in the box?
The box contains the USB-C to USB-C cable, user documents and a magnetic cable holder. The holder is useful for keeping surplus cable neat under a table or along a desk edge once the route is set.
How does this cable compare with a standard USB-C cable for a meeting room?
A standard cable is usually suited to short desk connections, while this 5 m active cable is designed for longer laptop-to-bar runs. If the laptop sits more than a short distance from the video bar, the active design is the better match, and the SmartRooms Qatar team can confirm the right option for your room.
What warranty applies to this cable?
The manufacturer gives a 2-year limited hardware warranty on this cable. SmartRooms Qatar supplies the product with that manufacturer warranty, and the warranty terms are confirmed on your quotation.
A private school in Al Wakrah is fitting out several classrooms. Can we order cables under one LPO?
Yes. SmartRooms Qatar accepts purchase orders (LPOs) and government tenders, including Monaqasat, for multiple units. Because each classroom has a different laptop-to-bar distance, measure each route first and list the cable length required per room on the purchase order.
Can the cable be used in a hot or outdoor area of a venue?
The source data does not give an operating temperature range for this cable, so it should not be assumed suitable for hot or outdoor locations. It is intended for meeting room use. Ask the SmartRooms Qatar team to confirm the environment before installation, especially in areas exposed to heat or dust.
Do you deliver this cable across Qatar?
Yes. SmartRooms Qatar delivers to all eight municipalities of Qatar, including Doha, Al Rayyan, Al Khor and Mesaieed. Delivery timing is confirmed with your quotation, based on stock at the time of ordering.
Who should request a quote for this cable?
IT managers and facilities teams who are planning a BYOD meeting room, or who need to route a laptop to a video bar across a larger table, should request a quote. Send your room layout and the measured distance, and the SmartRooms Qatar team will prepare the quotation.
