55CT5WJ

One unit for calls, touch work and shared content

The LG 55CT5WJ puts a 55-inch IPS panel, a built-in Windows PC, a camera, a microphone array and speakers into one unit, so a meeting room needs no separate computer and no tangle of peripherals on the table. The panel runs at 3,840 x 2,160 resolution with 450 nit typical brightness, a 1,000:1 contrast ratio and a 178-degree viewing angle on both axes, which keeps material readable from the back of a room. Ten-point multi-touch lets a presenter annotate directly on the screen while remote participants follow along.

Inside is an AMD Ryzen Embedded V1605B processor, 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, running Windows 10 IoT Enterprise (Value) with 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0. Chrome and Skype come preinstalled, and shortcuts help staff add other conferencing and collaboration apps.

Camera, microphones and speakers for real meetings

• Camera: 3,840 x 2,160 resolution, a 120-degree field of view, 4x electronic zoom and video framing that follows the active speaker.
• Microphones: A 10-microphone array with beamforming, picking up voices up to 6 m away.
• Speakers: Two built-in 10 W speakers.

Pickup distance depends on room size, furnishings and background noise, so test the layout before deciding where people sit. The One:Quick Remote Meeting application detects who is speaking at the far end and supports document sharing and real-time drawing. Meeting audio can be recorded and sent by e-mail to participants instead of writing separate minutes, although some conferencing apps do not allow recording during a call.

Where it fits in Qatar

Three situations suit this model well:

• A university seminar room in Education City where lecturers and research teams join partners in other countries and need one screen for both video and shared notes.
• A compact boardroom in West Bay or Lusail where a 55-inch screen suits a small table better than a lecture hall.
• A bilingual office in Msheireb or Al Sadd where staff work in Arabic and English side by side, since the on-screen menus include Arabic among 20 languages.

Air-conditioned indoor rooms suit it best. The rated operating range is 0 °C to 40 °C with 10% to 80% humidity, so avoid hot lobbies and rooms where direct sun falls on the screen. Confirm the room climate with the SmartRooms Qatar team before installation.

What to plan before installation

The head weighs 26 kg, 26.6 kg with the stand fitted, and 31 kg in its packaging. Its dimensions are 1265 x 769.5 x 61.8 mm. For wall mounting, use the 300 x 300 mm VESA pattern and make sure the wall can carry the load, which is why a free site survey comes first. For desk use, the two-pole stand ST-653TW is sold separately. The built-in power supply accepts 100-240 V AC at 50/60 Hz, draws a typical 127 W and up to 245 W maximum, and uses 0.5 W in standby. Plan cable routing for the two HDMI inputs, the USB Type-C input and the LAN port. The panel is covered for three years and the PC board for one year.
