A huddle-room camera that frames the whole table

The Logitech MeetUp 960-001102 is an all-in-one conference camera built for huddle rooms and small meeting spaces. One unit combines a camera, three beamforming microphones and a speaker, and it mounts on the display like a soundbar. That takes the speakerphone off the table and reduces the cabling that usually runs across a small room. At 400 mm wide and 1.04 kg, it suits the typical displays used in these rooms.

Camera performance and what the specifications mean

The custom lens offers 5x HD zoom, motorised pan of plus or minus 25 degrees and tilt of plus or minus 15 degrees, and three stored camera position presets. The diagonal field of view is 120 degrees, horizontal 113 degrees and vertical 80.7 degrees, which gives total room coverage of 163 degrees wide by 110 degrees tall. Calls run at up to 4K Ultra HD, 3840 x 2160 at 30 fps, when a customer-supplied USB 3.0 cable is used. 1080p and 720p modes are also available at 30 fps.

RightSight auto-framing moves the camera and adjusts zoom to bring every participant into shot as people join, leave or change seats. It requires Windows 10 64-bit or macOS 10.14 or later, so confirm the host computer before you commit to that feature.

Microphones and speaker sized for small rooms

Three beamforming microphone elements steer pickup toward whoever is speaking, supported by acoustic echo cancellation and voice activity detection. Pickup reaches 4 metres from the unit and 5 metres with the optional Expansion Mic. The manufacturer recommends the system for six participants, or eight with the expansion microphone. The speaker reaches 95 dB SPL at half a metre peak, and its anti-vibration enclosure limits sound passing into adjacent spaces, which helps in shared offices.

Bluetooth lets a smartphone or tablet use the unit for an audio conference, and the RF remote control adjusts volume, mutes the microphone and moves the camera from anywhere in the room.

In a ministry office in Msheireb, a six-seat room used for weekly internal reviews can add a camera for calls with colleagues in other cities in one unit. • Environment: the manufacturer data does not list an operating temperature range, so confirm the location before installing near windows or in spaces that are not air-conditioned, especially in summer when temperatures pass 45°C.
